I like human noble line, this tragic night, and finally the satisfaction to becoming prince consort... and Loghain as the father in law was fun, later in Awakening Nathaniel Howe was even better than with elf mage, but the Circle Mage origin just touched more. Perhaps because this was the first pt. I heard, Ser Gilmore is great. This works only with noble? Gilmore can be a companion and love interest with any Warden, he just has extra stuff for Cousland since they have history together. And he's wonderful and better than any of the vanilla romances, in my opinion. What @disgustednoise said I also used some few other mods to alter his original appearance... let me see if I can remember/find them... Ser Gilmore companion modHandsome Ser Gilmore modSer Gilmore first night modWhite teeth modI don't think I used other mods. Of course the problem is mods tend to bug the game pretty badly and oftenly... but Rory is worth it Thank you, guys! Already done, I downloaded and installed. I'll try it.

I played every Origin in Origins and most of the ones in Inquisition and definitely elves all the way. The City Elf was the most heart-wrenching, but Dalish elves follow very closely behind, and with DA4, may actually take over.

What is it about them that is "meh" for you? I personally am not into elf lore, and I also don't care for their appearance, so both of those make elves a non-option for me.

I agree with Sera that she's a walking bag of chicken necks.

Aesthetics definitely don't help. She looks like she hasn't hit puberty no matter what I do in the CC. I also don't find the lore interesting and all the elf specific dialogue has been so serious and self important.

I had one Cadash and he was fine (and really hot), but I more or less played him like I play Trevelyan. I really love the character arc you get with an Andrastian Inquisitor who really buys into his own hype about being the Herald only to have his feet kicked out from under him after the destruction of Haven and then again in the Fade. That works with a surface dwarf, but it wouldn't with a Dalish elf.

My line of reasoning is that if you believe the Maker has abandoned His children, then being called the Herald of Andraste is bordering on blasphemy. He questions his faith throughout the entire game, with perhaps the events in the Fade having the most serious impact. The post-Fade conversation with Giselle is probably one of the most unhelpful dialogues in the game, from an in-character perspective; she doesn't have any answers for him and it is SO frustrating. It also doesn't help that his boyfriend also buys into it (I even addressed this in fanfic!). The role of faith, and how a character deals with it, is one of my most liked aspects of the game and greatly contributes to my RP. It's so fun to think about all this stuff.

I told you I wasn't some Herald of yours, but nooo, you wouldn't listen " And then reluctantly taking lead, because despite being a cynic, she has a good heart (Though atheist human can do the same I suppose? I'm biased, I like elf look )

Human noble, because I'm super boring. City elf is my second favorite though.

It was hard for me to decide cos I was torn between Human Noble & Dalish Elf but Human Noble won out because killing Howe is extra satisfying when playing a Human Noble.

Speaking of unforgettable moments, there's this scene when you return to Orzammar as a DC that always sticks with me. Your mom is the WORST. Kalah: Well, look at you all fancied up. Did the prince decide he likes boys, or did you find some other way to bring in coin? (Or if you're a woman: "You find some princeling to give you pretty clothes while he sticks it to you, like your sister?") Brosca: I've missed you, too. Kalah: Why would I miss you? What'd you ever do but make me fat and old and ugly? Running off to the surface just like your father. Never thought to share a little of that fortune with your mother? Brosca: You're living in a palace! Kalah: I've seen how they look at me. Think I'm gutter trash. Not one of them would let me step foot here if it wasn't for Rica! Precious Rica and her precious little brat! If he chokes on that gold rattle, we'd both be on the street! Brosca: Rica's happy. Don't you dare ruin that. Kalah: Oh, precious Rica. What's she done besides getting herself knocked up? I had two worthless brats and no one ever gave me the time of day for it. I deserve what she got! And more! And don't you tell me any different! Morrigan: We have more in common than I thought…

Dwarfies forever! What I found to be a very interesting experience was playing noble after I had done my first playthrough as commoner. As commoner, there's basically no contest for who should rule Orzammar; you may notice that Prince Dwarf (I'm bad with names) is shady, but Rica is your sister and he does genuinely seem to support the dusters. And then, when I came back to that point with my noble, after finding the corpse of the commoner origin, no less, it was probably one of the most difficult decisions in the game. (It's also cool that you get a mention of the repercussions for this decision later; I remember at some point I chose old advisor dude with a non-dwarf origin and in DA2 Varric complains in an aside that he's shutting Orzammar off from the world.)

Dalish Elf... my favorite RP in DAO was as a Dalish male elf who romanced Morrigan. Which is surprising since I (almost) always play as a female when given the choice. I prefer importing that DAO worldstate when playing DAI now, due to the RP implications I liked all the Origin stories though in DAO. I really wanted them to return in DAI. I didn't care for the War Table revisiting each origin in DAI, and when playing a Lavellan I always look at the Wiki so they don't all die, ugh. In fact, on my first playthrough I ignored the War Table almost completely and never got Dagna so I didn't get the Samson questline with Cullen. I still was able to defeat him . I felt pretty silly when I found out I missed that.
