Dalish Elf... my favorite RP in DAO was as a Dalish male elf who romanced Morrigan. Which is surprising since I (almost) always play as a female when given the choice. I prefer importing that DAO worldstate when playing DAI now, due to the RP implications I liked all the Origin stories though in DAO. I really wanted them to return in DAI. I didn't care for the War Table revisiting each origin in DAI, and when playing a Lavellan I always look at the Wiki so they don't all die, ugh. In fact, on my first playthrough I ignored the War Table almost completely and never got Dagna so I didn't get the Samson questline with Cullen. I still was able to defeat him . I felt pretty silly when I found out I missed that. Dalish Elf eh? That means: Hell yeah! On a related note, I think I'm going to replay DAI now. I had some weird issue with only DAI where a green FPS overlay was in the corner, but only in DAI. I still don't know what caused it, and searching online yielded no useful answers (only "you should already know" lol). It wasn't FRAPS or Shadowplay. I've cleaned my old gaming laptop a bit of programs I don't use anymore to clear up some space, and it's gone when I just booted DAI. Ha. Victory. Now to plan who I'm going to play

For elven glory tbh! Doesn't matter, dalish/city, male/female, I'm always playing elves....well not always, I've played a human and qunari before but I just have less fun with other races for some reason. I romanced both Morrigan and Cass with a Dalish elf and Solas (it doesn't matter you don't get the choice with Solas, as I would have picked an elf anyway ). The only one I can't romance an elf with is Sera because it pisses me off. I found her much more enjoyable with a human. Is elf trash, don't judge me k.

Currently re-playing DAI and romancing Solas for the first time, braced for dem feels.

I used to really like elves. In DA:O I played a city elf and my first playthrough in DA:I, I was a female elf, who romanced Josie. To be really honest though, I really hated how the elves looked in DA2 and DA:I and I didn't enjoy that playthrough in Inquisiton at all.. I know a lot of people have or/and love narrow bodytypes, but the female elf bodies in DA:I reminded me of... Anime loli girls. I just cannot unsee it. Lots of people disagree on that though, so this is just my personal opinion. Don't burn me at the stake please. Almost every fantasy game ever made has elves in it, and I just don't care anymore. I have always loved the Tieflings in DnD though, so I fell in love with the qunari in DA2. My second playthrough in DA:I was a female qunari warrior, who romanced Sera. I used some mods to make her hair prettier, and horns bigger. Now I don't think I will ever be able to play as an elf again! I'm rather tall and fit myself, and many of my relatives used to tell me I "looked like a boy" and that "boys don't like girls like that" (jokes on them I am lesbian lel), because I am doing some weightlifting in my free time. This has made me very self-concious in the past, but I am so relieved to be able to play a character like myself. I just want to play strong and tall girls!

As much as I love playing elves I actually agree with you on their narrow body types for inquisition and DA2. I thought they looked way too sickly thin for both the women and the men and that's not really attractive to me at all. I usually prefer a more fit build. I'm just lucky enough to have a decent computer so I used mods to make all my elven men and women beefier. I wish they would go back to Origins body design because they looked a lot healthier at least imo, or I would like Bioware to put in a bodyslide so people could pick the option they want but I doubt that will happen.

I'm actually scared that a mod will edit my posts and profile and turn them into elf trash again as punishment, halp.

Couldn't think of anywhere better to put this, so... here's Cory talking shit about the various races. Call it "inspiration" for your next playthrough.

For the Warden, I do like the human noble, pretty much solely on the basis of the acceptance I get from the Couslands of having a guy waiting for me in my room *pointed glare at Inquisition*. But in terms of the characterization, I really like the elves, both city and Dalish. Probably a touch more the city elf, seeing the lowest of Thedas's low getting to be the hero of the narrative (though, even with the Alistair romance mod, it's less happy, because I can't really bring myself to have the non-noble marriage mods).
Inquisitors, though... Almost exclusively Qunari. I just really like being a Vashoth Qunari. Might be because I've always been tall (I know that's part of the problem with me and dwarf PCs, they are too short for my tastes), plus I've always been the weird outsider, even before the gay thing manifested. So being something that everyone in Thedas views as an oddity at best... I can relate.

Do you have to take a specific path for this to happen? The last time I played the Cousland origin, I decided to try for a fling because I've never done it. I was playing a male and picked the guy*. After meeting him in the conversation with Mom, I went to talk to him in the library. The options that I chose didn't lead to anything other than a suggestion that we might get together after he returned. I think we both geeked out over books or something and had mild flirting. However, I will say that I don't play sexually forward or overly flirty characters, so it's possible that, in my roleplay options, I didn't choose the correct setup to actually have the fling. It worked out anyway, because I ended up liking the idea that my Cousland had something to look forward to, which, obviously didn't last very long. * I have no interest in DAO LIs, so this would be my only chance! I also like the idea of crushing on Ser Gilmore; I know there is a mod for that, but I don't use mods for that sort of thing.

You need to pick at least two of the really flirty dialogues for the opportunity to invite him to spend the night with you. The wiki says: Should the player strike up a conversation, several opportunities to compliment or otherwise flirt with him will come up regardless of the Noble's gender. If the player takes advantage of at least two of these (including any previous opportunities that might have occurred in the stairway), then the player will gain a new dialogue option to suggest that he come back to the player's room that night.

Changed my vote. I have always played human so human noble was the obvious choice. Now I'm playing a Dalish elf and really enjoying it. My vote is now "I don't know *cries*".
