So Excited to see my favorite game mode back, junkenstein's revenge. Happy Ana got a skin finally too! Not super crazy on the skins overall, but still like them. The last event gave me everything I wanted so I can't complain. I feel overall Mccree has the best event skins personally, can't say one I particularly dislike.

Well, since they are nerfing my favorite hero into the ground, as I might as well learn a new one.

She sounds cool, definitely looking forward to playing around with her when she comes out.

I have to say that's one of the worst skins I've ever seen even if it's a themed skin Moira looks interesting though, if a bit familiar in powerset. Should be interesting to play whenever she comes out. Before the next (Christmas?) event, hopefully. And looks like she's responsible for giving Reaper his powers as well. Also cool to add another nationality to the OW roster (still waiting for a Canadian hero ). Also, I'm probably overanalyzing, but I'm wondering if she's supposed to be trans? Just, her appearance, I don't know. And they've only actually revealed one LGBT hero so far. I have to say I hope not, last thing we need are more morally-dubious LGBT characters Would also be odd... Like I said, I'm probably wrong, it just popped into my head.

Eh, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with LGBT villains -- but it's better when there's a good mix of both heroes and villains. If anything, I would imagine that what might stop them from considering something like that with Moira would be they would think it would be "obvious" and thus stereotyping her or something like that.

Not inherently, no. Anyone can be anyone after all. The problem is we're still in the infancy of real LGBT representation and in my experience, negative representation is worse than none at all. Think of all the early examples of gay men in media and stereotypes. Once we have a lot more examples out there, LGBT villains won't matter. And avoiding it because it's "obvious" seems more like something Bioware would do (who really want to avoid butch f/f girls etc.), whereas Blizzard's other example, Tracer, "looks like a lesbian" to a lot of people, lesbians included (I think soft butch was the term used). I'm not saying that Moira is definitely trans, just thought that was worth noting since we don't have a great idea on how Blizzard handles these things yet.

I guess my feeling is that if one is to wait until there's some ratio of "good" LGBT characters before making LGBT villains...we're gonna be waiting awhile. So just do both, and if there's some guy in the mid-west who's small brain can't handle that, that's their problem. And you know, it's funny -- when I first heard about Tracer being...outed, for lack of a better word, in the comic, I was both surprised and not surprised. When I saw ads for Overwatch I just thought, "cute but slightly annoying mascot" and didn't get any hint of her sexuality at all.

Today a friend of mine played a couple of competitive games, the lost some of them and her team blamed her for being a woman... And I thought people couldn't be dumber, it seems I was wrong.

I guess my feeling is that if one is to wait until there's some ratio of "good" LGBT characters before making LGBT villains...we're gonna be waiting awhile. So just do both, and if there's some guy in the mid-west who's small brain can't handle that, that's their problem. That's the problem though, it's not just their problem. The opinions of idiots like that sadly have an effect on us, whether it's a slur tossed your way, harassment/assault/vandalism/etc., or a law being passed/not being passed affecting us. That's why I feel like for the mean time, it irks me despite artistic freedom. I'm also not saying there shouldn't be any. Individual presentation as well as if a work has other less devious LGBT characters within it are deciding factors in how frustrating it is to me. Too many times I see LGBT characters being deviants and villains and nothing else, that's all. Take any crime show: Since having a main LGBT character (or, Maker forbid, more) is still not palatable, almost all of them come in the form of one-episode characters, who are either victims (Bury Your Gays), or criminals. Anyway, I'm just babbling now. Feel free to ignore. And you know, it's funny -- when I first heard about Tracer being...outed, for lack of a better word, in the comic, I was both surprised and not surprised. When I saw ads for Overwatch I just thought, "cute but slightly annoying mascot" and didn't get any hint of her sexuality at all. Isn't that a good thing, though? Orientation isn't something you can just tell by looking at a person in real life, or even interacting with them. So I consider it good if writers/devs don't only rely on stereotypes, and instead just make characters who happen to be X. That said, I have heard some lesbians say she fits nicely into the "soft butch" category, though rather than be disappointed at stereotypes they were pleased that Tracer actually turned out to represent some real lesbians, since some people will fall into categories like that. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other there, but glad some people were happy. I also thought the comic was cute, and the best way to "reveal" a character's orientation - by not making it a reveal at all. She just... has a girlfriend. No deal is made out of it, it's done exactly as it would have been if it had been a straight pairing. That's what we need. There were also a bunch of straight pairings in the comic that no one made a fuss over, naturally.Today a friend of mine played a couple of competitive games, the lost some of them and her team blamed her for being a woman... And I thought people couldn't be dumber, it seems I was wrong. Sadly common. Seen it way too many times, just in gaming even. I mean, once is too many, but I've seen it a lot more than once. Those kinds of people not only think girls can't just be good in general, but when they're not, act like it's because they're a woman and not for other factors, while conveniently ignoring the fact that tons of dudes aren't good either. If they are good, they rationalize it by saying they learned from a guy or something as nonsensical. Eh, I don't even know why I'm arguing this. It's a level of stupid that's simply incomprehensible... thankfully I guess. Still, it's incredibly disheartening that there are people out there like that. In more Overwatch-related affairs, Moira is really fun to play! It's good to have another healer (who can also heal themselves), and she has decent offense as well. I like balanced, multipurpose characters, like Zenyatta as well. Interestingly, I seem to do consistently well with her since the first game, better than most other heroes. Bouncing orbs is quite fun, though I wonder if they'll nerf them.

Love the new skins this winter except Soldier's, my bae didn't get his sweater *cries*. I love the Hanzo skin because of the grey beard but apparently everyone else hates it and they are changing it, and Im annoyed. I paid 3,000 currency for it and now I won't have what I paid for.
