If those Mercy changes on the ptr go live as is, I'm done with this game.

If those Mercy changes on the ptr go live as is, I'm done with this game. I don't think they've gone a single patch without nerfing her. It's beyond ridiculous. I don't know if they just plan to bury her until they get around to another rework of her toolkit or what. The Junkrat nerf was a needed change, but I feel pretty confident that the next patch will include something along the lines of "Resurrection will now cause Mercy to spontaneously combust upon completion".

While I understand the frustration, (Ana main feels when nerfed to the ground) Mercy is definitely pretty strong right now. Now that said, I do think the changes are excessive. I would make her require more time for her ult to charge and make her flying slower but that's it. Her quick rez should stay. Now I don't think she is impossible to hit, I keep sleeping her as Ana, chase her when I'm mercy, even headshot her as Hanzo. The problem is, the rest of my team seems to be blind and don't even try to take her down, you might even notice this on the Overwatch League. But I really like Valkyrie I must say, I still do battle mercy with it when I can. And it seems I'll be going through the rework pain phase soon since apparently Hanzo is going to get a rework. Im afraid cuz the last time one of my mains got a rework (Symmetra), I just lost interest playing her. Symmetra is technically stronger now yes, but I still really liked the original way of giving out shields.

Symmetra is technically stronger now yes, but I still really liked the original way of giving out shields. I definitely agree that she is very strong, and perhaps too strong in some cases, but after months of constant nerfs this feels like a punch in the gut really. Add on top of that all the people who not only hate Mercy as a character, but also the people who play her saying things like "well now all those boosted Mercy mains will fall to gold where they belong" and other similar sentiments, it's tough to deal with. Not to mention there is not a lot of room for skill based play in her kit anymore. It's not fun to ult and die, which already happens fairly often anyway with live Mercy when you fly in for a rez because she is stuck there for 2 seconds. It might take a few people focusing her sure, but you absolutely can out damage her self healing. Idk, this video pretty much sums up my thoughts on things better than I can. I also really worry about this new tendency to rework characters who have "annoying" abilities. Like, sure it's not fun to die to scatter, but there are counter plays. And people who just say that scatter takes no skill are just salty about dying to it.

Scatter is only easy if you literally walk alone and on a straight line, in other words if your not working as a team. If scatter was that powerful as they make it out to be, Hanzo would be a top pick. With the nerfs, Mercy's valkyrie becomes pretty pointless and not engaging, when the whole point of doing it was that.

I might actually start watch Overwatch League if Geguri is going to be playing. Her Zarya is insane and her tracking is god-like.

After over 900 hours of playtime I been taking a pretty strong break this last couple of days from Overwatch. I'm a bit disappointed how Blizzard is handling the game right now. They are making the overwatch league influence hero balance, when thats not even half their playerbase. Having Bridgitte delay for so long to pop in competitive makes comp remain stale for a whole month and then some.
I also wish they would drop more lore content, they canceled a big comic story development about the team's origins but they haven't done much about it since. We are not getting mini comics as offen like before either. This among other factors like bad matchmaking has turned me off from playing for a while. So I'll be on break at least until Uprising. Its a shame cuz I always defend Blizz all this time but its getting out of hand personally.

The fucking dudebros probably scared them into being quiet, can Doomfist please pummel all of them (and be bi/gay?)

Wouldn't say they are scared, they just haven't been really focusing in developing characters much except Bridgitte for being the new one. They are not doing the comics anymore where Tracer got revealed as queer. They are focused currently in the competitive esport scene of the game. Jeff did say a month ago they have a very well developed story for Reaper that they were hoping to get out there soon. We will have to wait and see where that goes and if it means we will have more of other characters also.

Especially comp. Comp has just become so frustrating lately. I really hope it turns around soon.

I've honestly just been dicking around in PvE "training" mode. Just can't do competitive multiplayer atm. That said, while everyone's picking Brigette every game, i've been having a blast playing Moira, I think I may even prefer her to Zen. But I have a thing for the Mad Scientist trope

Overwatch Uprising renamed to Overwatch Archives, coming this April 10. Will feature a new story event as well as the return of the old one, they tease a new "file" at the end of this promo:
So yay for more story finally!

Can someone explain to me how I can play tank, get gold elims, silver damage, gold objective time, and 20,000 damage blocked and only gain 14 sr. But when I play healer I get at least 20 sr regardless of how much heals I do? Like, how does that work? What is the math here?

I'd love to explain it to you but i think i only understood about 20% of that, sorry. I'm just here for the ship stuff.

But when I play healer I get at least 20 sr regardless of how much heals I do? Like, how does that work? What is the math here? Did you switch characters at some point during that match? Last I heard, and I noticed it to be true at least with my SR, is that it depends on how much you switched on the match. So for example, I won a match but I switched like 3 times until eventually got a good character to go with my team, it usually leads to 12-17 ish sr. However in a match where for example I picked Sombra in both attack and defense and stayed always her, I get 22-30 SR. This also affects a lot on losses, if you switched a lot and lost you tend to lose more SR. But if that wasn't your case, Im not entirely sure then. At one point SR gain and loss used to be based on how likely you are to win against the match they put on you, if the game thinks it was very probably you would win it would give less SR, but I think that system of probability was removed... I think. So many possibilities with SR these days.

Seems kind of broken to me considering a large part of the game is counter-picking. I wish sr was a bit more transparent.
