So a remake of an older anime called legends of the galactic heroes started today. It is a pretty famous space opera apparently and my god it has gigantic space battles and I am very happy right now. Yep, the scale of some of the engagements can get a little mind numbing - IIRC, this is a universe where battles with casualties numbering in the millions are a fairly common occurrence. I wonder how far they'll go with the new adaptation, given that the original series ran for 110 episodes. |

So a new cooking anime in the same realm as one last year called restaurant to another world but with japanese food and new full metal panic? This is seriously the best damn anime season in recent memory.

Rurouni Kenshin is the best anime ever. Quote me. My friends were hugely into Kenshin but I never really got into it. I'm sure I'd like it. That being said I'm pretty positive Cowboy Bebop will never be unseated for me. That show is 100% what I miss about 90s style anime. |

Naruto spoilers I guuueess?? I finished watching Naruto: Shippuden after ragequitting the manga years ago. Some epic fights and character moments that I missed out on or never got to see animated (EIGHT GATES GAI. MADARA'S HASHIRAMA BONER. BEST GIRL INO BECOMING THE INTERNET), but so much craaaap too. I cried like a tittybaby over several character deaths (the reason I swore off the manga in the first place), had to deal with the total character assassination of, like... every female character and most of the male side characters too if we're being honest. Plus the power creep issues with DBZ-esque mountain-busting bijuu bombs and endless Uchiha hax, eugh. And god, it brought back so many memories. I remember some of the most toxic shipping wars I've ever seen back in '07, when it was mostly the NaruHina/SasuSaku contingent vs. NaruSaku, plus the plethora of sideships and crackships and oh holy god, it was terrible. I am 100% guilty of participating in all of it who am I kidding lol. And that was well before the manga finished. I cannot imagine the shitstorm that followed the finalization of the endgame pairings. Ffffffu- ON THE PLUS SIDE, Kakashi's backstory is still dope af and Gai is still the most wholesome character. AND THIS HAPPENED which proves the world is not a cold and lonely place and Gai-sensei must be protected at all costs, thanks for coming to my TED talk. |

New ghost in the shell anime coming to netflix in 2020. Seems like a good time to rewatch the original movie. Get me in the mood for some cyberpunk 2077.

Looks like it'll be a sequel to the Stand Alone Complex series from the early 2000s; I haven't seen the series myself, but I've heard good things about it.
Also, apparently Netflix got streaming rights to Neon Genesis Evangelion.
