I watched MK11 story mode on youtube (always do this cause it's like a movie and I rather wait for the ultimate super completed edition lol also it's another opportunity to enjoy my language's dub instead of the english one) No mentions of Kung Jin and Takeda, unless I missed it? Weird. Not gonna lie I cried with old Sonya's sacrifice, she has been/is my favorite character since the first game. Sad about Hanzo too, I dont think they are gonna stay dead in the new timeline tho. It was so nice seeing young Sonya killing Kano, I mean the bastard is hot but deserved to die XD  likewise seeing Kitana killing Shao Khan, about time, it feels like a real closure for those storylines Hollywood happy ending for Liu Kang and Kitana! They deserve it but holy shit there were a lot of lovey dovey romance on this game? I mean I'm not complaining but I hope they give Kung Jin a boyfriend and show the same amount of romance, dudebros complained about him being gay even though it was a subtexted scene, just kill them out of homophobia lmao. Also Cassie and Jacqui are girlfriends, change my mind  OMG leaks from some characters, cant wait to see Ash!!!  |

Frost!  Is that Jen Hale? Always feel bad about Sub-Zero getting beat up in the trailers.  Maybe it is? I totally got Kitana's new VA wrong though, it's Kari Wahlgren (Starfire's VA from Injustice 2)
Welp, guess I gotta keep my wits about to avoid story spoilers (Although I'll probably watch some videos from a channel or 2 I'm subscribed to, hopefully they don't pump out too many vids until tomorrow when I actually pick up and play my copy).
Also today was the last pre-release Kombat Kast. Covering Shao Kahn, and everyone's favorite hot-head Frost. They mentioned that they'll have a patch out to address the Towers of Time and Krypt progression (alot of folks with early copies brought up worries that it was to grindy and lootbox like), also Mercy is a thing that tie into secret brutalities |

I watched the story mode. I enjoyed it a lot! However, I have to say I was sad that there was zero gay rep after the good start they made in the previous game. In fact, they really pilled on the straight if anything. Sad. Still looking forward to actually playing the game eventually in a complete package at a discount rate.  |

I managed to get through Story mode on release day, it was great! Didn't like Ronda Rousey being Sonya's new voice (altough I think she did pretty well on some lines in intro banters). Strange that no mention was made of Kung Jin and Takeda in story mode(in Kung Lao vs. Cassie banter she mentions that Jin went back to the White Lotus Society, while Cassie vs. Scorpion banter she says it's classified). Surprised that Dark Raiden gets wiped, would've been interesting to see him clash with his younger self. Also surprised that Kano died (they killed off my mains, first Mileena and now Kano). Feel like Cetrion was kinda wasted as a character, I kinda expected her to try and stop Kronika by talking or to at least undermine Kronika while helping the heroes. Pretty sad to that Present Scorpion ended up dying to D'vorah  . Pretty interesting that having Baraka and the Tarkatans on your side is treated like a deciding factor in Outworld. I do feel like saying that none of the characters you fight against felt like jobbers. I think my favorite scenes where: Choosing Scorpion to fight Sektor, the Kahn fights, Shao Kahn actually getting mad that D'vorah killed Mileena, and that scene where Raiden realizes that him and Liu Kang being pitted against one another has happened in other timelines (so kool seeing some of those other Liu Kang and Raiden skins especially the Dark Raiden vs. Zombie Liu Kang at the Pyramid of Argus). Not to sure how I feel about this game pretty much ending with the start of a retcon...will we see Kitana or Liu Kang again? Will one or both of them play the role that Raiden had? Will MK 12 start over from the 1st tournament? Will the Kombat Kids comeback? Will Fujin get his time to shine? Will Raiden be the new Liu Kang, or will he be more of a mentor? I haven't tried online yet, too busy doing the Towers of Time and Hoping I can get gear/skins I want (not a fan of them changing Skarlets hair from black with some red in her past skin alt colors, to just being red like in her default past look). Glad I got Kano's MK X looking cyber eye (it fits sooo much better with his default/present look). Was Bummed that the Towers of Time was unfair and unfun (which sucks since the online towers in MK X, and the Multiverse in Injustice 2 were actually good), mainly due to the "medium" Cpu opponents in those towers being 1. given more health than the normal 1000 (depending on tower) 2. having BS modifiers that only affect the player like - (unblockable rockets, poison, darkness that deals 10x as much damage on block) 3. they seem to read inputs and flawless block a good amount of your attacks and can time it perfectly with the BS modifiers. Although they've patched it, remains to be seen if that can make those towers feel like actual fun instead of just frustrating (since I haven't gotten on today). They also patched how much kurrency (koins, soul fragments, and hearts) you get, which should help with going through and getting stuff from the krypt (earning koins and souls was fairly easy, but getting hearts is a bit slower). I do like the krypt though, pretty fun being able to get a small idea about the layout for Shang Tsung's island. |

Yep. I'm pretty sure that early on leak about The evil Dead's Ash being one of the DLC characters is accurate. That chainsaw tease towards the end. yup.

Just some thoughts I feel like airing.
With Nightwolf returning, I really hope he's fun to play and has some cool looks (I did like him in MK 9's story, and he was fun enough to play). Also hoping they get a Lakota to be his face model, and Voice Actor (saying Lakota since Nightwolf called Raiden Haokah in MK 9, and that's a Lakota god it seems).
I wonder if Sindel will look East Asian like Kitana? It'd be pretty jarring if she didn't.
I hope they get Keith David to voice Spawn (he voiced him in the Spawn cartoon that I think aired on HBO back in the 90s), rumors are that he will, so that's exciting.
Wish some characters had more skin variety (namely Cassie, Jade and Skarlet could do with fewer shared masks), and that the Revenant characters had options to play with their alive skintone or the revenant skintone. Wish Baraka had something like his armored looks from Deception/alt in 9/X to better match his orc style helmets.
Still hate that Kano is constantly taking a piss.

Yeah same, especially since it seems like these ranked leagues are limited to a month (Season of Blood for 4 weeks, no idea if the seasons will return or if the skins/gear will end up in the rotation for the Towers of Time or "store").
Funny thing, I got a Shang Tsung augment in the Krypt but he isn't playable until tomorrow (apparently people have gotten some of his skins from the AI battle mode).

Yup, their Season of blood is for a month. earning rank points helps you rank up to get skins, time krystals, and gear. Doing stuff in ranked also earns season rewards (victory animation for Scorpion, Brutality for Kung Lao, gear) and daily rewards (time krystals). from what I remember seeing yesterday anyways. Krypt has only crashed on me once (opening a monk soul jar and the items just wouldn't load), kinda a bummer that you can't clear out the krypt and get everything on the first go (some have to be made at the forge, others from the Kollector, and the rest from the lottery shrine). Makes me wish Mileena would Return to the roster.  |
