I agree with so much posted here.
Fears:
- Another giant empty world with too many fetch quests. I LOVE open world games, just not how Bioware has been doing them. They need to trim the map sizes down, and stop adding in the side quests that just feel like chores.
- Romance drama. Not everyone is going to be happy, no matter what they do, but if you're going to put romances in your games ffs make sure they are all of similar quality. They did a pretty good job in DAI. I'd like to see them build on that and like others have said, move away from their standard stereotypes and try something new. As much as I love me my male KISA, I'm fine with the next one being gay and straight girls getting something different. It's about time they made a warrior woman for a f/f option too. I'd have romanced the hell out of Cass or Cora. They're both sexy and strong. Seeing straight guys bitching about how those two look makes me .
- How they're going to handle Solas. My Inky's who romanced Solas (and the ones who didn't) need closure. No idea how they'll handle that with a new protag. We shall see. If he turns into the big bad (like the for real villain) in DA4 and taking him down is the only option I will cry.
- A dumbed down UI. The heck with the console peasants and their limited buttons (sorry)! I want a big ass bar I can fill with all of my spells and abilities. Not something that only holds a couple, making the rest of my skill choices useless because I can't use them anyways. DAI drove me nuts with that.
- The end of the series. It feels like they pretty effectively killed Mass Effect, even though I liked MEA. I would hate for something like that to happen with the DA series.
No's:
- A plot that draws heavily on books and comics and whatever the hell else they have out. I realize that this is already being done, but that's why it's a no for me. I hate feeling that I missed a huge part of the story for something because I don't have any interest in reading about my games.
- A bunch of returning NPC's/companions. I love them, but they were for the other DA games. The more characters they return, the fewer new characters they'll create. I'd love cameos though, and like many others expect Dorian to be around as an advisor or something in DA4.
- Killing the Inquisitor, or Dorian, or any other comp or protag from a previous game. Just no. The 'this one or that one' death choices are old at this point, and they seem to be a favorite tool of Bioware. There are plenty of NPC's we get attached to that they can kill instead.
