This thread is for the discussion, and general squeeing-over, of our favourite rebel mage. What? No, it's not Fiona, you twits! ANDERS(Anyone know how to enlarge this pic? Plz halp!) He's the mage with a healing touch and a heart of gold. He loves cats, and lets another dude practically live inside him. Discuss Anders, and how he makes you erupt.

Hawke and Anders settling down and adopting a bunch of kittens is my jam. It's funny, though. People love making fluffy pairings darker and dark pairings fluffier. Fandom is a bunch of contrarians, looking at canon and going "Ooh, that! But not that."

Fandom is a bunch of contrarians, looking at canon and going "Ooh, that! But not that." Anders didn't seem that dark to me, although I admit that was probably the intention. I always play Hawke as being 100% supportive and enthusiastic about everything Anders does (insofar as the game allows, anyway). I tried to do a rivalmance once, but I couldn't, it felt wrong. In my headcanon, Hawke and Anders are gallivanting across Thedas, freeing mages and blowing up Chantries, no matter how many orphans and puppies the the pro-Templars claim are hiding inside.

I love Anders, but Act 3!Anders is... pretty dark. Even with a Friendship Romance.

Anders is best mage husband. I tried romancing other characters but the thought of him being stuck down in that clinic, just nah. I only ever managed to romance a different character once and that was Fem!Hawke romancing Isabela. I just hated how DA:I made Hawke talk about him, especially if it was a 100% Anders and Mage supporting Hawke. (Nevermind the rest of the mess with Hawke's personality when it came to Warden's and Blood Magic.) It bothers me that Hawke goes back to Kirkwall with Varric, like, where is Anders then? Did he put on a disguise so he could go back with him?

DA:I never really gave any good closure for romanced Anders. I feel like they were afraid to show him being happy due to fan backlash that would have no doubt happened. I still love him a lot though. He's a great boyfriend. Fenris is husband though.

(Though I do love that War Table quest in DA:I where you can set Aveline on Sebastian to kick him out of Kirkwall. )

I felt like Anders needed closure more then the rest cause of that kirkwall issue. Still, I like to think it all works out somehow.

I've gotten used to using head canon these days when it comes to Bioware. But yes, I like to think it works out and that the merge with Justice means Anders won't be going on a Calling anytime soon. (Let them be happy Bioware. )

Totally unbiased poll there When playing DA2, I was actually conflicted. Loved Anders and his approach to romance and everything really. And yes I agree with him about the chantry On the other hand Fenris? Too hot for words... Usually, the deciding factor was Fenris' reasoning that pushed me away, so I ended up with Anders for the majority of my PTs...

I love them both as well, best LI choices from a Bioware game for me, but the deciding factor for me is that Anders is more committed earlier on. I really love having him move in and be at your house. Running around the house finding his stuff around is so cute. Fenris leaves for three years and he never moves in with you, so that was a little disappointing in comparison.

On DA2 release I was expecting to romance Fenris but pretty much fell for Anders immediately. (Hadn't played Awakening at the time, so didn't know him.) You already know this, but I can't romance anyone else. Lol One reason I never romance anyone else is that I get the feeling Anders "catches feelings" for Hawke no matter what and I don't want to make the abomination mage bf sad.

Fenris is over there being his sexy, pouty elf self, but Anders tempts me away everitiem.
