Emmrich's voice is great for sure. Currently my interests in him and Lucanis are in a dead heat, so whoever does better in the game proper will be my second romance. Davrin is still first! Though knowing my shit luck with picking romances in Dragon Age games-who knows who my favorite will turn out to be in the long run.

Mhmm stumbled across some major spoilers/leak that can affect certain companions and a location. Big spoilers, view at own risk. Seems you have to choose between saving Treviso for the Crows (aka Lucanis), or Minrathous for Neve. Whichever place you choose to save you'll piss off the companion of the opposite location. Doesn't look like they leave you, but I think most of us saw that bit with Neve about how she won't use supportive spells anymore and her relationship progress is slower. It's a non choice for me just like Stroud vs Hawke is. I'm always gonna go for the Crow/Lucanis location to save.

I still can't believe they wasted so many years trying to turn Dragon Age into something it isn't. It makes me wonder how much sooner we could've had the game if they didn't waste that time, and how different it would've been from what we are getting. I agree with Davrin's boobs that the spoiler sounds scary, but I won't click. I want to try to experience as spoiler-free as possible. With that said, I am so very tempted to play through DA2 and DAI again but it's too late at this point. I either play those and skip Veilguard for a few months to a year or play Veilguard on release. If I wait, I know it will likely be impossible to avoid major spoilers so that makes me want to play ASAP. It just took me too long to get through Origins woth so much happening in my life that kept me too busy and exhausted to play RPGs. I might be able to run through DA2 but I would also hate to rush through it and be burned out on RPGs again right before release. Also doesn't help that I don't even know if my PC can play Veilguard. (I don't own any new consoles.) Curious though, has there been any indication that we'd get a bard/bard songs again? Loved that about Inquisition and would like to see it again.

farferello LOL @ pissing Neve off turns her into a DPS Mage instead of a support one. That might be a bonus for people who play on easy like me.

I do hope there's a lot of joyful things like bard songs or little things like that, because the current theme so far of the game is pretty dark, which is funny cuz the first trailer did not give that vibe. But now the new stuff is the total opposite, including the revealed theme song which also makes it pretty dark compared to the heroic sounds of DAI. But yeah best to try Veilguard asap to avoid major spoilers. I plan to do a major online disconnect minus just visit here just to see any reactions or spoiler tag any tips or discoveries I have made regarding romances. Cuz it will be a bit more challenging that we are jumping into romances blind, not knowing what dialogues may or may not affect a romance from happening. Hopefully your pc runs it! It sounded like they tried to make it as compatible for everyone as possible so hopefully you can run it at least on DAI power if you are able to run DAI.

Yeah I am not sure on the tone, either. All the knee jerk responses about how goofy that first trailer was from the fanbase, that I still see people milking outrage responses to, all seem more or less wrong because that first trailer was for sure a mandate from the publisher and possibly very little involvement from in studio BioWare, maybe even none as its not uncommon for filler promotional content to be partially or fully made out of house.
But I don't think this game will be DAO level or ME3. I'd imagine it will be like if Inquisition had gone with the original idea that Corypheus would do more to attack the Inquisition that got scrapped as they struggled to introduce the cut content from DA2 they shoved into the Arbor Wilds. BW has been struggling with DA's tone for a while. I'd imagine this will continue that trend. DAI tried to give choice and consequence but it never did a Kaidan/Ashley choice, and I could imagine a BioWare trying to prove itself after a rocky decade might go back to that idea a lot of people hyped them for: mutually exclusive content. But I don't know. I've read the leaks and stuff and I haven't really seen anything that indicates this will truly be anything like that, it just seems like if Inquisition had included a couple more consequences for player choice (there were some but not many and they were pointless outside like Nerfing a boss' health pool if I remember or Iron Bull betraying you in Trespasser if you did the obviously bad thing).
Edit: also patrick (trick I believe these days) weeks has tended to be more in favor of obvious choices with better and worse outcomes. Cole - Spirit or Human? Kind of obvious. Bull - Chargers or Qunari? Very Obvious. And since they like the new Gaider, I'd assume there wont be many choices that arent more or less obvious or you can mitigate somehow. Even if we know there is a choice with consequences, does not mean that in game we wont have more options if you do other things prior. But i'd bet there will be several "remember us, BioWare? The studio that made you choose which person you thought was cutest on that one planet decades ago? Here is a new fuck marry kill"

Well, I now officially have my preorder established and set for release day.
Stuck with the standard edition, of course, but still... I shall have it.

I'm hearing digital is starting to be available to preload/install and is around 92GB at least on Xbox. Also WARNING FOR EVERYONE, the trophies/achievements are apparently out there and contain heavy spoilers from what I'm hearing, even some creators that didn't want those spoilers are upset, so just as a heads up to avoid anything related to those. And with preloads going out, some might sneak some leaks if they manage to datamine it. Again just a heads up to avoid spaces where you are more likely to see spoilers pop up, if you follow the right people though you should be fine as I have yet to see the trophies pop up for me yet.

dgcatanisiri haha fair! I'm still on the fence on digital or physical. I been mostly digital these days for the benefit of sales and theres so little physical stores around me sadly and shipping to me takes a while, but I miss going all physical.
All right we got details for launch and pre launch everyone! Pre Load:
Xbox Series X|S: October 14th 9AM PDT Playstation 5: October 29th 9AM PDT PC: No preload, the game will be downloadable and playable on launch day October 31st, 9AM PDT
So with no PC preload it saves us from people datamining spoilers out of it, Edit: but it still sucks knowing how big of a file these games are they would have to wait for install. Quality and Performance: For consoles (Playstation 5 & Xbox Series X|S), there will be fidelity and performance modes, targeting 30 and 60 FPS respectively. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will also be specifically enhanced for PlayStation 5 Pro. PC Specs

I'm still pissed about no preload for PC. I'd rather people datamine it than fuck over PC players who now get to play the game several hours later than everyone else because the Steam servers will shit themselves and it'll likely take me until midnight or later to download the damn thing.

That is seriously unfair for PC players. There's always going to be leaks, so it just seems overboard to me. Their will probably be some gaming store that goes rogue and gives out a copy early anyway. On another note I guess the world wide release is why the game is coming out at such an odd hour. I was hoping that was psn being dumb and it'd be updated. Oh well!

Preload is usually encrypted, and they could have also done what other games do which is to not include the .exe with the preload. There were many ways around things not being 'leaked' because no drm, that didn't include fucking over pc players. Because guess what. All those console players will now have the game several hours before me and can spoil the game with no issue. Like hell, letting me preload the game even just a few hours before the official release time, would have at least given me a head start on what is going to be a several hour download because not everyone has a 1 gig download speed and can download it in ten minutes.

Ugh does anyone know if you can cancel a preorder on Steam? I'm already pissed I have to wait til noon instead of getting to play it at midnight. I'm not waiting even longer to download 90GB.

The more I look at the release map the odder it gets. Is 9 A.M. releases a thing in Canada maybe? Cause otherwise why not start the roll out at 12 am PDT? Then everyone would have gotten the game on Halloween day...

Well, I listened to the final chapter of Vows & Vengeance. Overall all the spoiler free review is: it's a fairly decent way to get to know the companions for the upcoming game. It however is a very weak story overall that goes nowhere, and ultimately felt like a trail of pain for the two Main characters of the story. I mean, they did the "slap a happy ending with a coat of bittersweet" that is so popular these days, but honestly, it just felt upsetting to me personally. I didn't expect a super happy ending, but it didn't need to be as rough as it was. Eh, whatever. I'm just glad it's over at this point.

I still haven't jumped to those mini chapters but as we get really close I might bite the bullet in anticipation!
I really do hope our inquisitor is actually in the game, and is not just some Solas flashbacks, I know I'm already being paranoid but anything can happen! XD

I hope that the inquisitor does make at least a bit of a cameo for sure. We shall see in 10 days I suppose.
