On the one hand, sure, it'd be nice to revisit the Inquisitor and all...
But on the other hand, after Hawke's return, I really don't wanna see how BioWare will do them. Plus I REALLY would rather watch the annoying Solavellan crowd's heads explode at NOT actually getting to have a reunion. Then again, I am a petty little shit like that.

After such a long wait of ten years it feels so unreal that in just ten days we'll be able to finally play the next Dragon Age game.
I'm worried my PC won't be able to run it, but since I haven't purchased any modern games in a long time I don't really have anything to compare it with. I'll be out of luck if I can't since I don't own any consoles and definitely can't afford a PC upgrade!

Technically my pc can run it, but they have a pretty high recommended compared to other games that have come out lately. The good news is that since DATV is not open world it might be easier to run this game on low settings than your typical open world game.
I keep hoping the price of pc hardware quits being inflated by some new get rich quick fad but I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen.

Oh I missed this, but I would also romance him as himself  . I'm definitely shorter than him though. The ESRB Rating description released, it talks a bit about how "sexual" the content can be but there's no characters specifics of course, so if your curious to read about the sexy content without any character specified on who it is, here you go: That's fair dgcatanisiri lol. It will suck seeing solas romancers get so much more out of it if that's the case. But in terms of personality I'm not as worried as Inquisitor is a bit more neutral than hawke that could have been a total goofball if you chose to. Though the only thing that they could alter is how they feel on solas but they do seem to give us the option to at least pick if we were pissed at him rather than try to redeem him so hopefully that's taken into account. Granted I chose to redeem him, because I don't dislike the guy itself I just dislike its popularity outside of the game. Geforce streaming is a pretty good alternative Andrew if it comes down to it, as its more of running the game online rather than having to use your computer specs, granted I don't know how it fully works with a full rpg with multi saves, only tried it on simpler games. |

I'm going to go visit a friend this weekend, so I only have two more work days to Veilguard. It doesn't feel real that we're going to have a new Dragon Age game to play after waiting a decade.

Indeed, it is crazy to think we are finally here when during andromeda and later anthem we really didn't know if bioware would even be able to make another game in their rpg style we like. The final launch trailer is here: Didn't see anything I would consider major spoilers, a lot of already released footage was used but there's still a few eye popping new visuals, some potential new characters, if you rather just not watch more promo but nothing like story or returning character pops. I also will make note that aside from the first gameplay, there's hardly any Varric content in these trailers still. Also hardly any Solas in this one:
The trailer also features a new customized male Rook, so if you don't want spoilers but want to see the rook here's a picture: I think is nice they haven't tried to force a default and every marketing promo has been a lot of male female flip flop and even some qunari in some gameplay stuff. |

He looks like he will add a lot of fun to this otherwise dark looking game so far.
The review embargo lifts on October 28, next monday. Several of the reviewers that are also creators have already finished the game, so just as a heads up to be alert that it might get dangerous with spoilers starting monday. But on the bright side, we will know how well the game performs with critics on monday, and the fact they are lifting the embargo this early could be that they are positive it will review well!

I was convinced I'd play an elf first, but there is a small part of me that's really tempted to play a qunari as well as I really dig the new look (I know that is not the most popular opinion). Going mage for sure. As for the faction-I'm torn between Shadow Dragons (cause I want to learn as much about them as possible) and the Grey Wardens. The later is mostly cause I like the idea that Davrin and Rook would both either have to find a cure for being a warden together, or when the time comes they'd go on their calling together. -shrug- But yeah, the plan is to romance Davrin for sure anyway...also if I pick Shadow Dragon my mage would probably stick with Davrin no matter what anyway.  |

I haven't fully picked out the faction just yet, probably Shadow Dragons, honestly, but I'm pretty set on an elf - where my Inquisitor was pretty set on being a Qunari, with what's happening with regards to the elven gods, I genuinely want an elf to be the one at the forefront of the issues with them. I also figure I'll be rolling a mage as usual. Davrin is, of course, where I'm going for my first romance. Maybe Lucanis will get a fellow Crow when I do my second run, though.

Ofc human (as I told to Noel in twitter, I dont connect with fictional races for main characters), mage, shadow dragon AND Davrin   |

farferello I'm going to be a boring human again XD, I want to make him something close to the date reveal trailer but also want to see what other hairs I can try or more facial hair or tattoos to spice it up but I want at least a skin tone close to that. Class I think I'm going with Rogue just because I like having both range and close combat options and I love archery. Plus I skipped rogue on BG3 just to not repeat XD. Faction I'm not quite sure, may have to decide once I read on them in game, im really bad at choosing that stuff. Is like when bg3 asked me which god do I follow, Im like uhhhhhhh XD. But maybe one that just fits the rogue vibe too. Definitely one of those things to explore once we learn of their impact in the game. Has for romance, I'm really torn, Davrin is beefy hotty, but Lucanis and his voice woosh. May end up testing how slutty far I can go with both flirting. Will also depend how romantic they feel. The reviews have come in, just posting the scores no spoilers here, from the more critical ones some didn't vibe too much with the combat from what I could gather but loved the characters, etc:

I think I'll play a dwarf warrior. I only play orcs and dwarfs in fantasy, so. The other stuff will be whatever I feel like spur of the moment and romance will be up in the air. I try to go for plot relevant dudes first, but we've never had any since Anders, so . I dunno. I only went out of my way to listen to one review from a die hard but not zealous dragon age fan and... I might wait to get this game in a few months. Non spoiler summary of why but still behind wspoilers for caution: 1) very little interaction with previous titles and the only bits are related to Solas. 2) huge parts of the story are ignored or dealt with in a codex. 3) Rook is potentially the weakest protag. 4) a lot of characters aren't that developed and you can tell cuts were made. 5) its pretty short (which might be good). 6) this game basically ends most of the stories of Dragon Age (meaning we get a lot of answers), meaning games that come later (if they exist) will be fundamentally different. Which I am fine with. I don't want to be 60 waiting to know stuff. But if the game is pretty short it might leave a lot of unsatisfying answers. Basically this person mostly seemed to like the game when talking about Solas but more on the fence when not... which is not something I am that excited for and will personally rather wait 'til I have more freetime post January. Unless I hear better things. They did say they "loved it" but the way they described the game did not make me excited but maybe they were just tired trying to rush a game. Ghil Dirthalen is the person. I feel like her opinion is more trustworthy than some DA mega fans as her YT channel is not her job. |
