Yeah I think I’m gonna try street kid, finalize my mod LO, and I’ll probably pick between nomad or street kid. Corpo definitely felt like it was made for a different game and then they abruptly made it work with the other two.

Yeah Corpo doesn't feel like it fits the game, especially as everyone's thrown into the same story after the life path stuff and I'd be surprised a Corpo V didn't just get punched every time they opened their mouth and spouted Corpo bullshit.
I finally played more of the main story... and then cringed my way through a bunch of Panam stuff. My V's not a stool, don't go putting your legs up on him. (At least I could put a stop to it but I imagine that won't be the end of her awkwardness.) But next, I get to go meet River.

Panam cringe during that quest is bad even when not qualified for her romance, but it is lessened from there if not masculine body-even though there's a place for all the other romance checks still-just nothing happens. But mb v has to turn her down like 3 times-I guess only the third time counts for dodging the romance. v.v Odd given how the romance guides at the start make it sound like it's hard to romance her.

Maybe I was just making the right choices, idk, but even though I turned down anything that seemed flirty (her putting her legs on me, sleeping next to each other, cozy campfire moment) it still seems to be acting... weirdly flirty. I got messages from her that were just confusing and seemingly very flirty. She's yet to call me back despite at least a few days passing so... I guess we'll see what happens. I just gotta wait for River to message me. I really like him, I'm very glad he's not that kind of cop. Edit: Finished off the rest of River's questline. Romance is very cute though first person sex scenes will always be super cringe to me. I character swapped his model so I could screenshot stuff, but ya know, the romance cutscene worked perfectly fine considering my V had the 'wrong' body type for it. I still have no idea why they didn't make him bisexual.

Did the best friend talk to you about her? (that part was super annoying for me since there's no choice of "I'm not interested in Panam"). I just...felt exhausted by the whole thing.

The only thing that counts if you do not have s3x with her in the tank. No matter how you respond to her, she always flirts with you. Meanwhile you can't even flirt once with Kerry, just sudden kiss.

Meanwhile you can't even flirt once with Kerry, just sudden kiss. It's the same with River (save for the kiss and the romance scene are back to back without a quest to separate them). I haven't seen all of Judy's but I can't imagine there's a lot of build-up to it either. Preferring River is just as well since I can't imagine not playing as male V w/ fem body at this point. Panam is just too much.

I guess they put the most effort into Panam's romance then because straight dudes. Despite that it still almost feels as sudden as River's (haven't gotten to Kerry yet) considering she goes from brash and bitchy to being overly flirty with you with zero character development. But at least she has flirty stuff leading up to the romance, with River it was just suddenly there, even if the meal was cute and you getting to be all 'I think we should date!' was pretty funny. It still feels very sudden though. I tried to call River like the next day, and the little shit ended the call on me. Rude.

I tried to call River like the next day, and the little shit ended the call on me. Rude. Sadly that's a known bug. He also gets bitchy at you for not calling or visiting the first time you do visit him. sigh... then you can talk about how you don't think you'll work out, and then you can ask him on which gang he thinks is the worst over and over again for the rest of your days-or watch him glare for no reason occasionally asking "what's on your mind V?" No big spoilers-but just in case. edit: Oh, also where he's sitting is pretty good lighting for picture mode at least.

No big spoilers-but just in case. edit: Oh, also where he's sitting is pretty good lighting for picture mode at least. Yeah I briefly saw different conversation lines flash up when he answered the call but then he ended it on me before I could select anything. It looked like he was driving so I'll just pretend he was being conscientious and not taking a call whilst driving. I'll have to try and visit him. A shame, seems the aftermath of the romance matters very little. Oh well, not a huge loss on this V as I only romanced him to screenshot the scenes so I'm not all that heartbroken. When I play my Nomad V it'll be a different matter. XD Edit: Went and visited River... the awkward 'you okay with me not making time for you' option was weird when it hadn't even been two days since I last saw him. Also Panam's last quest triggered finally. Super awkward at how distraught she looked when I turned her down considering I'd done nothing but turn her down. Also pretty salty at how emotional the scene was after when you pass out and she starts worrying about you. It really does feel like she got the brunt of emotional support content because she's the straight dude romance.

So I've been enjoying my anniversary run of the game, but I have seen others confirm that 1.3 (or 1.31) did in fact nerf the hell out of stealth and netrunner combo. Every enemy now has the ability to track your location the moment you use a hack. It's extremely frustrating for the jobs that ask you to stay undetected. Luckily the rewards for those are not significant anyway. I have managed to get a couple of them, but generally, it's more trouble than it's worth.

Yeah it's hit and miss of whether I get detected or not. Sometimes enemies (with no netrunners) will immediately start tracking my location, other times it doesn't happen. All my deaths have come from when it happens. But it's definitely frustrating, there was one job where I had to break someone out of a place and I was constantly reloading because I was determined to do it stealthily. I can understand kinda (I mean it's a single player game what does it matter) the change to Contagion because it was so OP but they made it kinda useless on harder enemies because it does such little damage I have to keep spamming it. I don't have the health to survive being detected and I've pointedly not put any perks/points into Body. Non lethal is also a problem. I've downed so many enemies, hit still alive ones with Contagion, and then it has jumped to someone who was downed and killed them. It's kind of a pain.

I gave up being a non lethal V when I got in the car and had to drive around night city.

I gave up being a non lethal V when I got in the car and had to drive around night city. I have definitely accidentally run over a few people, especially as some of the cars I'm forced to drive for quests handle like drunk rhinos. I've tried my best to not kill, (outside of quests where I had no choice to shoot, like in the Jackie, and Takemura chases) all of them have been accidental except for two that I finished off on purpose because they didn't deserve my mercy.

I parked my car, got honked at because it was blocking traffic and the noise was going to ruin a dialogue scene, so I went to move my car.
There was a person clipping into the hood of my car and would not move. I pointed my gun at him. He just cowered. I got into my car, he vanished. As slowly as I could I backed up my car but it jumped into the air, the guy’s now smushed body reappeared and flew into the air, and as I drove away I left red tire marks and I moved my car five feet to stop the traffic jam.
night city really changes you.

I kill a lot of npcs that way. v.v The game doesn't want you to park your car-much of anywhere really.

This is why I drive a bike and park it on the pavement. Or I park it in the middle of traffic and honk back to establish dominance. Worst is where you have to take a quest/quest reward car through an area where you've downed npcs and now you're having to run them over because you can't get past them. (I mean I could pick their bodies up and move them but I've had them die on me when I put the bodies back down so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Speaking of cars, I've amassed so many free ones by this point, I don't get the point of buying them other than to just buy them. Outside of when I have to drive a car for a quest I haven't driven anything but Jackie's bike, and the Delamain quest reward car, when I've required a car over a bike. (I'll probably get more use out of cars on my Nomad run.) Finally did the Claire races. They weren't too bad, just got the final one left. Right now I'm just clearing the map of any side quests before I go meet Takemura again. I do still have a bunch of 'crime in progress' ones to do, to clear the map, but that gets boring after a while.

I got Jackie’s bike, much better than a car for sure. I did the Delomain quest where yo drive the anxious one back home… I almost made it with out hitting anyone, but turning into the shop a herd of pedestrians was walking by, I waitied for them to move, more were trying to come so I turned, a lady on the side of the drive way freaked the f out, turned around, and ran into my wheel, collapsed, but the crowd continued on their way calmly as I bounced over her, kinda killing the vibe of the quest cause the AI of the filler stuff is so finicky. Fortunately the cab did not care but it was… just so classic.
90% of the time the crowds serve their function but that 10% is hilarious. Like when I had to go to Jig Jig, so I parked way away, and was simply walking down the street and noticed a person with a bad mesh issue (their face was infinitely expanding) and suddenly the entire alley panicked and ran. No idea why. No violence was happening. I pulled my gun just in case cause drawing a weapon takes 25 minutes which made it worse but I am pretty sure I did not cause the panic.
I also noticed fast driving is easier cause the game loads less cars. So that’s nice. Cause getting stuck in traffic is super frustrating and the number one cause of me getting into a crash was turning and passing at the same time, only for someone behind me (the AI can make really sharp and fast turns) to hit me, and send me into a car in the opposite lane. But also none of that matters so now that I have a motorcycle I’m an insane person.
I also made the mistake of going Shotgun build… I have like 20 purple quality pistols, I can even craft them, but I have only shitty shotguns.
but I gotta admit, I am kinda having a good experience, my game only crashed once or twice, and I’ve got every graphical setting as high as they can go (by default, I was worried my computer would be in potato zone) with basically stable FPS, I just can’t run ray tracing (not enabled on my card). But this also draws attention to the unspoken part of this game… the excuse that last gen consoles shouldn’t have expected the game to run, is pathetic. The game was planned for those consoles, and the limitations for those consoles are baked in the game. Its really not a “next gen” game unless you consider ray tracing the defining distinction. It’s just cause they cut corners rushing to meet managements insane deadlines.
and it’s a damn shame cause I actually think I might like the game. I’m having Andromeda flash backs.

Jackie's bike definitely handles pretty well. Has run me over more times than I want to admit however. NPC AI can be weird. I did a 6th Street gig which was a shooting contest... and all the npcs were left cowering in fear because I was shooting at targets I was supposed to be shooting at. Sometimes I'll come out of a building and they'll be cowering and I can't help but wonder wtf I missed. Ha, I'm having the opposite problem. I only use pistols if I bother to use a weapon at all and I'm constantly getting shotguns and rifles. If I do get a pistol it is worse than what I already have. Glad you're having a good experience. I get some bugs and graphical glitches (one npc I thought had really bad acne/face mutilation. Turns out it was just his skin texture bugging out because in some scenes later he looked perfectly fine.) I have been having a lot of crashes though. I've probably had 10+ in 70 hours. Often times it's just from clicking something on a vendor or dialogue option, though sometimes it even happens just when I'm driving about. I've learned to quicksave way more often. I also still have a broken quest I can't do which is bugging the hell out of me. But yeah the excuse that older consoles shouldn't expect to run the game is bullshit when the game was made for those consoles originally.

I bet I’ll get more crashed the more I play. I’m not that far into the game and my steam time played is pretty small considering I did all three origins, remade my current V during the first mission, and sometimes leave my game paused while I… get distracted and watch Hallmark holiday movies.
