It almost feels like these DLC were written and produced by someone who only played like the earliest games, and not... y’know, the game they were ACTUALLY MAKING DLC FOR. I'm curious who the dlc is even for. I'm sure most straight players aren't interested in having a baby in game, if I finished the game I sure wouldn't want one, and I don't even need to mention how pissed off lgbt players are.

I'm curious who the dlc is even for. I'm sure most straight players aren't interested in having a baby in game, if I finished the game I sure wouldn't want one, and I don't even need to mention how pissed off lgbt players are. See, that's why I'm saying it's like the DLC was made by people who didn't have any idea of the franchise after like ACIII, beyond the existence of Aya for that ending. Because this had the feeling of like the tacked on romance with Sofia Sartor in Revelations. And if the game didn't have choices in dialogue and characterization, if the misthios were completely out of our hands, aside from gender selection, this wouldn't have elicited the same outrage - like I earlier, if it weren't for the context surrounding the game and the DLC, I'd genuinely find Alexios giving up his son heartbreaking, watching him give up his son.
But when I played the game, I built up a character who had no interest in children, who had no sexual or romantic interest in women, who had been through an experience that made him believe that concern about bloodlines just managed to destroy his family and leave him with an empty house in a nation he felt no connection to. So the desire to "preserve the bloodline" doesn't just ring hollow for me and my game, it flies in the face of the story I played, the odyssey I went on.
Now, remove the player choices from the whole game, impose a certain path on the misthios from jump... This would all be different. It would have been an acknowledgement that this wasn't our character, we weren't shaping this character and story. But since we did get that agency, the removal of it is complete bullshit.
So it just feels like the DLC was not in any way written for THIS game, but repurposed from an earlier game, where these player choices weren't involved, the dialogue variations slapped on at the last second, and no one bothered to do anything about it. Which, as a writer, I understand as a concept, reusing something that didn't get used elsewhere, but again, all this DLC did was rip the character and story we were invited by the initial advertising release to define right out of our hands.

Okay, but like, isn't the assassin bloodline doubly useless now? Not just with Khemu. Although, I guess it's entirely possible for Aya to have more children with someone who isn't Bayek. But also, they've said before that Layla isn't a descendant of Aya or Kassandra/Alexios. They specifically set it up to where she has an Animus that is modified so that you don't need to be a descendant to still use it. They say as much in Origins. And also, the opening part of this game explains that she uses the spear to connect with Kassandra/Alexios. Like, it's a whole sequence, so I don't get why they would then decide to bring bloodlines back into it after previously wanting to steer away from them.

Honestly, I feel like the whole bloodline thing is damage control after the shit hit the fan over the forced romance. I mean I can't prove it, but that's how it feels to me. "give them aya as the reason that should shut them up!" I can just see them thinking that would fix everything.

So I've been trying my hand at the DLC got through two episodes and on the third now. So far it feels like my character has way more chemistry with Darius than his son and it feels (to me at least) pretty disconnected from the rest of the game. So far it's just kind of "eh" for me. Some interesting things but I had more fun with the main game. Also I find it funny that I'm supposedly with some guy and I got three of my girlfriends on my ship along with my family.

This is so epic Ubi, first give players choices and options for their romances, then force them to straight romance and a baby... Lol They probably think like most straight people, nobody would be too long in homosexual relationship right?! Well you're fucking wrong!! We want the same things and deserve the same as straight people! We just like our own gender not like you blank boring idiots! Get over it! Even forced Fallout 4 straight relationship were not that bad as this.. I was so stupid to buy ultimate edition with season pass, you can shove it to your greedy ass Ubi, you and your microtransactions in single player games! Thats all, bye!

@lukensen Sorry you wasted your money on that season pass portion of the game. I feel bad for anyone who did which I know is a few others here at least. I had a bad feeling about the season pass so I passed it up, but I still feel like the whole game is ruined for me now. I can't unsee that video with the demon baby, and I can't escape the fact that it's now canon that Alexios spends at least 9 months but most likely a year or more with a woman in a semi-romantic relationship.
That completely ruins the character for me honestly. I love a good bisexual character as much as anyone else, but that's not what I was promised, that's not what they advertised, and it's not what I paid for.

Like I said, it’s just like this DLC was designed separate of the game proper - Hell, the game had a variable ending, you could end it facing three final bosses, none, or a mix and match set.
I know the actual logic was no further than “let’s connect the misthios to the Assassin’s, the easiest way is bloodlines, so gotta have a kid!” but I still find it crazy how they went from one end of the spectrum to the other.
I’m gonna stand by “gee, it’s a shame there’s no DLC,” because I don’t CARE what they offer as follow up to this. The whole thing is tainted now. I might be able to eventually pull the base game out of the muck, but none of the additional content is even worth my time because of this, because it just ends up being a slap in the face.
And the worst is that this wasn’t intentionally malicious at inception. It was just straight people not THINKING. Specifically straight MEN, naturally, because they didn’t think about Kassandra having to bear a child - HOW is the woman who ran around Greece fighting and killing, the woman who is probably the top mercenary in the land and will have to fight to hold that title, letting herself be laid up for weeks or months? But the straight men just thought “we do x to lead to y,” and didn’t even bother thinking about other points of view.
I say not intentionally malicious at inception, since it really wasn’t. But the fact that they acknowledged the offense and then did NOTHING about it (because the misthios saying “I just had a child with you for the bloodline” after the kid’s been born is NOT a fix)? Yeah, THAT was malicious.

I either ignored some posts (possible, some people write essays there) or blocked it from my consciousness, can you link to who said that? This kind of homophobic behavior in disguise with good manners -which in BSN it is the basic state of mind for many sealions- I cant stand it, I feel for lgbtq people but lol they are crazy enforcing straightness what? crazy- said the straight dude. It's the same rhetoric over and over again, it kinda reminds me to many so-called straight allies but when bi Jaal was gonna/happened their true colors appeared and then bisexuality would ruin his character!1! bullshit, he's straight in your world yolo. *disgusted noise* I admit that I'm very visceral and I should have some kind of filter to call out these things, but I cant help it. edit. and ofc if only it was BSN but the internet, disqus comment section, youtube comment section, twitter etc is plagued with this scum, hell even worse scum. You can only endure comments to a certain limit. Edit2 and you know what's funny? I DONT EVEN OWN THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Davrin's boobs sorry you are getting sucked into Ubisoft's whirlpool of negativity. I really can't deal with those type of posters anymore. I think I'm going to try to avoid the official Ubisoft board for a bit. The mods there moved the main thread about the situation to the spoilers thread trying to bury it cause the spoilers thread is dead as fuck. So they have moved on, and I guess I should too.

Davrin's boobsYep, missed that, I see my post on that page, I was busy replying to the dumb idea that expectations of what a typical Greek should be somehow should matter in this game. Most people expect me to marry a woman and have kids with her. That's not going to fucking happen.

The LotFB has nothing to do with enforcing cultural norms or slighting the LGBT community. They simply told the story that they wanted to tell. Yes, it sucks that they implied that players could shape that part of the character, but then put the protagonist into a straight relationship. They thought they were making it clear that the relationship could be either romantic or pragmatic friends making a kid. I’ll agree that they did a bad job of portraying this dichotomy, even though I was expecting and looking for this very thing. Funny how I knew exactly who made this post without even checking first. LOL not to mention all the people who liked said post. Typical.
