So I'm a total nerd for VTM:B and with the upcoming announcement from Paradox on March 21st at GDC, thought I'd make a thread in the event it is an actual RPG and not some dumb mobile game. Urban RPG PLEASE! EDIT: ITS REAL. Written by Brian Mitsoda, the creative mind behind the original, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 brings the ambitions of the first to life and sees the return of a few fan favorite characters. Those narrative ambitions are bolstered by Cara Ellison, exploring the effects of the mass embrace on regular Seattleites. From its founding, Seattle has been run by vampires. In Bloodlines 2, you will stalk your prey across Seattle’s districts - faithfully reimagined in the World of Darkness. Meet the old blood founders present since the city’s birth and the new blood steering the tech money which is rapidly redefining the city. Everyone has hidden agendas - so choose your allies wisely. Find your place among competing factions, each with their own unique traits and stories, in the war for Seattle’s blood trade. The world will judge you by the company you keep, but remember: no one’s hands stay clean forever. Enter the night as one of several humans inexplicably attacked in a Mass Embrace, suddenly thrown into the dangerous and ruthless vampire politics of Seattle. Tensions between the factions in Seattle are at an all-time high, and this unsanctioned attack throws the status quo into chaos. An inquest is called in order to get to the bottom of the mystery, and you’re the star witness… whether you like it or not.. As one of the few free agents in town, you will choose a side and play an important role in the factional war to control the blood trade. But can your allies answer why you were made, who’s pulling the strings, and who your real enemies are? Or will you be more concerned with what you can do to get ahead among the vampire elite? The choice is yours. [Bloodlines 2 features a mixture of first-person and third-person perspectives. For the most part the game takes place in first-person while you’re exploring, talking to people, and even while you’re fighting, but every now and then it switches. During certain special move animations such as climbing, lunging through the air, or some acrobatic maneuvers it will switch perspectives.]
Clan Intro Videos. #1: Thinblood #2: Brujah #3: Tremere #4: Toreador #5: Ventrue #6: Malkavian

I guess my only question is how violent are these games? I know it might be too much to expect outright gore.

I guess my only question is how violent are these games? I know it might be too much to expect outright gore. My experience playing VTMB, I'd say pretty violent. ESRB rating for VTMB I read an article somewhere where the Paradox CEO guy said that their target audience for WoD games are people over the age of 20 who like a more gritty experience. As for outright gore, there were some pretty gorey atmoshperes and plenty of abilities in VTMB had some neat effects, like Tremere clans Blood Boil ability. Theyd explode into a huge blood mist AoE and body parts would go flying.

Look familar?
Is that...Santa Monica beach?! I think it might be a bay, since there seems to be land/lights across the water in the distance. Ppl are speculating Seattle. Definitely Santa Montica vibes though and it's something everyone who has played VTMB would recognize right away haha.

Another one I missed! Outside the coffee shop Had a thought that maybe the game could take place in SF as well. (My home city!) That pier scene definitely looks a lot like SF bay at night if you look across to the East Bay and see all those lights in the distance... but Seattle has all that coffee! also this just happened lol. They opened a new studio in San Fran.

So not super related, but I found some footage of the cancelled World of Darkness MMO game CCP were working on before they cancelled it and all the WoD assets and IP were acquired by Paradox. I like the atmosphere of it and would love to see AN RPG with this dammit. I feel like while WoD can work as an MMO, it's just so much better suited for a SP RPG.

"What will come next? That’s for me to know, and you to find out. One thing is sure, the Chimera will go down. The truth must be revealed, whatever the cost. And at the head of the road, San Francisco will NOT be doomed." HMMMMMMMMMM.

Just found out that Beckett might be canonically dead, due to events that happen after Bloodlines, which can be found in the core books. RIP ME. WHHHHHHHHHY. He was my favorite NPC.

Moar pics. Someone pointed out it looks A LOT like Pacific Tower in Seattle. The Pacific Tower, formerly the Pacific Medical Center, is a 16-story building on Beacon Hill in Seattle, Washington. It is located at 1200 12th Avenue South. It was completed in 1932 and opened in 1933 as a Marine Hospital Service facility.[1] The lower floors of the facility still function as a medical center today.

As a Washingtonian I will buy this game for no other reason than it taking place in Seattle.

OH CRISIS AVERTED Beckett might still be unalive and well. "Likewise, Beckett lives past the Withering, since the entirety of BJD takes place after the Gehenna novel. On page 22 of V5, you can see a note from Beckett indicating he's alive at least into 2015. Letters on pages 23 and 24 are dated to 2009, which isn't as recent, but reinforces he's still around."
