aw so I'm out then like with The Outer Worlds, I can sacrifice how annoying it is the first person view if I can enjoy a full-fledged romance story arc, seducing random npcs (if gays and lesbians are allowed to exist that's another topic) is not enough for me. what the heck is happening with fps and rpgs nowadays I'm happy for you fangbangers are getting you long awaited sequel

Aw I know its disappointing. Im not sure why devs are going with first person only, when a damn 2004 game had swapable perspective. Sigh. Im combing gaming outlets for info and they apparently got to play a 30 min demo. www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-03-22-vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-is-a-darkly-fascinating-immersive-sim"You won't choose your clan at the very beginning - that comes later, as will details of what exactly those clans will be, and how many of them to expect - but instead are offered the choice between three starting abilities. Nebulation grants you the ability to turn into mist, Mentalism allows you to manipulate objects from afar while Chiropteran lets you defy gravity and glide through the air. For this demo the latter skill is chosen, though environments are clearly built to accommodate each skill and plenty more play styles besides." "Combat is also improved. Guns are only ever short-term solutions, and instead Bloodlines 2 wants to emphasise that the best weapon in your arsenal is you yourself, and the abilities afforded to you as a vampire. So you can scale walls and take advantage of the verticality implicit in your skillset, and played up to by the environmental design, to gain the upper hand. The pugilism itself has a sense of athleticism, occasionally cutting to a third-person view as you perform a leg-sweep and cartwheel over your foe. Interesting lol. "There are multiple factions in the city," explains Mitsoda. "What we wanted to do with the story was really reflect modern Seattle. There's really a struggle for the identity of Seattle right now, the music and cultural place that it was traditionally and the corporate and tech business that's transformed the city. There's this idea of how much Seattle can change before it's no longer Seattle. So we made the factions aspects of the old and the new. You can work for different factions, unlike the first game, you can switch factions and you can piss off factions to the point where they won't work with you anymore. We really wanted to give you the ability to change the story the way that you want it to go - you might see things a different way by working with a faction."

Oooooh, someone has to make a third person mod And from the rock-paper-shotgun article, link of which Kymira posted, this is pretty cool "It’s first person, but yeah, you can customise your character ( including choosing pronouns separately from your body type) and this time you can choose a human background that might affect how you approach problems or talk to people. The two examples I was given were cop and coroner, but if you want a basic start, with no bonuses, you can be a barista, which Mitsoda described as the default class in Seattle." "Cara Ellison also said that they’re trying to broaden Bloodlines 2 from the more masculine power fantasy of the original, so that it appeals to way more people this time." Even more edits... So, what I find interesting is that they keep saying that you start as a thin blood, rather than saying that you are a thin blood. Curious choice of words, that makes me think we will lower our generation and become full vampire at some point...but that would involve diablerie, an act that is frowned upon in the civilized kindred society, or MacGuffin magicks...

I'll make another post so I don't keep editing the same one So I'm just going through the articles released, trying to find things that grab my attention. www.polygon.com/2019/3/21/18273692/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-trailer-pc-ps4-xbox-one"Early scrimmages transpire beneath Seattle. Mitsoda notes that in the late 1800s, the original Seattle downtown area burned down, leaving the community to rebuild the city atop the old one. In Bloodlines 2, this means that a literal scorched city awaits just beneath the streets, a sort of American Pompeii full of abandoned storefronts and grimy street signs." "It’s full of a variety of lighting techniques, each suffusing rooms and outdoor spaces with different moods. An urban square central to the story has the soft glow of retro lampposts. A Brutalist parking garage exterior is softened by pink neon. The apartment of a recluse has the harsh fluorescent lighting that reveals every stain and fleck of dust that has accumulated over the years. And throughout the world sit Christmas trees and holiday lights, giving scenes an almost trippy splash of color." Also, various combat descriptions make it sound like guns are going be merely a side dish this time, and the primary focus is meant to be melee and vampiric powers. Which works for me, melee shows off superiority of vampires better than guns can, at least in my opinion.

Why does everyone seem to think first person is so ~immersive~ I'm playing a video game, third person is just as immersive to me considering it's, ya know, not real and third person has the advantage of not making me feel sick after a few hours. *Sigh.* I'll keep my eye on this, I never got around to playing the first for the same reason. Always seems pointless to go heavily into CC if you hardly ever even see your character.

Couple of times they mentioned feeding a lot and becoming less human in exchange for more vampiric powers. That idea reminds me of Vampyr...but hopefully it's not the same straight up good/bad ending in exchange for harder/easier gameplay as it was in that game.

Hmmm good information. Very happy underground Seattle will play a role. Sounds like you can't just go on a murder spree without severe consequences huh?

At least not in public, must keep up the Masquerade. If you happen upon a gang fight or something though, you're free to murder as much as you want. Them's the rules!

Oh this pleases me greatly. I will totally play a punisher type in this. I have a character in mind who is timid and reluctant to embrace the Beast, but when driven into corner those who have caused the distress get ripped apart...by bare hands if need be. And then "oh god, what have I done" moment comes.

"Cara Ellison also said that they’re trying to broaden Bloodlines 2 from the more masculine power fantasy of the original, so that it appeals to way more people this time." SJW TRASH GAME. GOOD. And I had a feeling theyd do that this time around. Whats funny is I already saw dudebros complaining about there being women on the writing team for this game. First game was definitely on the "only straight dudes would play this game" side, when in reality I think VTMB has TONS of female fans lol. Even the paradox chairman mentioned that he knew VTMB had a large female playerbase. If you played a female vampire, you had the ability to use seduction charm pretty often with the loads of female and handful of male NPC's. So it was def slanted towards seducing all the women all the time. And I've never played a male vampire but I'm pretty sure seduction lines wouldnt show up when talking to other men (I might be mistaken though) who werent designated Blood Dolls. So I think theyll be changing this for 2. Nice to hear.

I wonder how far they will take that.

I think this guy is from the Bloodlines 2 artbook. Something awesome sounding about a queer Bear Gangrel! edit: apparently Rudi is from the v5 VTM book that just came out last year, the devs said they developed the game parallel to when the v5 book was being made. LOL dudebros are having a heartattack about Rudi over on steam.
