How are they so stupid, it's like they just forgot the shit they got for locking achievements to romance content before, and then they go and do it all over again with the remaster.

Sadly, the bioware team of andromeda that did take the moment to listen isn't the same bioware that worked and works on trilogy stuff. However, given that they made kaidan a gay romance on mass effect 3 and actually gave him decent content on the dlc as well, you would think they would think better honestly, rather than thinking of taking a step back. The fact they made that trophy also is big yikes. I only wish that big day one patch actually adds him but I extremely doubt it sadly. Like I don't even mind if they just patch it out later, better late than nothing really but it's a mess.

I keep thinking about that bit in the article where Walters basically went off on why they weren’t including it,
‘ "it wasn't intentional in the original" and the team has already told us that they wanted to keep the remaster as true to the source material ‘
Like what a dumbass excuse.
The source material had shitty lighting, awful Mako controls, and gratuitous shots of Miranda’s ass yet you’ve changed all that.
The source material could have included a dated Questline with plot points that don’t hold up to today’s standards and y’all probably would have changed that.
But no let’s stay as close to the at the time closeminded source material as possible while at the same time re-screwing the lgbt fan base by creating romance achievements they won’t be able to get.
Like how many thinly veiled fuck you’s can one dev team do.

I really wish I could could confront them at a live Q&A and ask them these questions and see what kind of stupid answer they cone up with. What they've done is unacceptable.

I used this image if you don't mind, and gave it a shot as respectful as possible even if I'm really disappointed. Not that it would do much, but doesn't hurt to try I suppose.

I was reading through the comments on the Hack Walters and Mass Effect twitters, upvoting pro-gay comments and comments asking why Kaidan wasn't a favourite companion in the art generator with a mexican black kingsnake in my sleeve. Right as I was reading a homophobic reply to someone Licorice pooped and peed in my sleeve, I guess she didn't approve of the comment.

Also made a tweet just now, sadly couldnt mentioned more people. I'm pretty sure modders and/or the devs (I can't remember which) said that things like the extra voice files (aka the ones modders used to make the MShep/Kaidan, and FShep/Ashley mods work with voiced content) were being cut from the remaster because they were 'never intended' to begin with, because Bioware just had the voice actors read allll the lines for... whatever reason. If they have cut that stuff out (and they probably have as they've no need to keep it for the remaster) then mods won't be able to use the voice files. You might get lucky with a mod making the romance 'available' but you'd likely get stuck with unspoken voice lines for Shepard, and Kaidan/Ashley misgendering you (which one of the ME1 romance mods actually fixed so it plays out as if the romance had existed fully to begin with.) Don't let them deceive you. We all remember the pretty good banging and Bioware/devs liking tweets of male Ryder/Jaal art and people being excited for that romance, and then the game came out and we saw how much they'd fucked people over in that regard.

I've said this in a couple of places, and I'll say it here - while I'm realistic enough to say that I doubt that there really will be the patch we damn well deserve, I'm not backing down on this, mostly because this is saying what we can expect in the future. What BioWare will believe they're able to get away with in the future. That we need to fight for this and fight now because the alternative is that they will simply come back with more regression, more of a lack of representation in the future.
And the part of that which drives me up the wall is that when that happens, the same people who were pro-#MakeJaalBi but have just shrugged their shoulders and gone "what do?" about the Legendary Edition will SUDDENLY be flabbergasted anew, when we have been very clear that we expect that this is going to be a fight that we will have again, that we have continually had to have, and apparently are just going to keep having it.
*sigh* I'm tired, you guys. I'm really very tired.

I honestly can't tell at this point if I'm fighting for content or just airing my grievances. Still, I'm angry and it helps to tweet it out! Even if it's just noise that they will never really see.

In many ways “airing grievances” and pointing out the ways things can and should be better is an important way of resisting corporate/political BS that seeks to provide nothing or the bare minimum. It reminds both yourself and others how things can and should be and keeps the weird nostalgia of celebrating things from the past uncritically at bay, and in so doing can help combat the creep of reactionary conservativism of celebrating some golden perfect past uncritically.
But we all have personal limits in doing this. If it starts affecting you negatively more than it helps you, then it’s completely okay to take a break.

Quite a bit of footage of MShep/Steve in this video. Okay cool but where is MShep/Kaidan? LOL they feature a gay man sharing his story but can't be bothered to fix the Kaidan romance. How hilarious. That's probably why they didn't do the Kaidan romance because they KNOW that it 's a problem and they'll get backlash for it but don't want to take the time to fix it. So...their solution is to pretend Kaidan doesn't exist.
I WISH I could be excited for this like everyone else because the games did have an impact on me...but not like this....
