I really really REALLY do not want to hear a goddamned word out of any supposed ally of shock and surprise when it turns out that the M/M options of the next Mass Effect game are homophobic and shorted of content. We're saying right now that BioWare has been homophobic on this count and has been all franchise long.
Do not listen to what people say. Watch what they do. What BioWare has done is homophobic. So of course they're going to continue to be homophobic.

I haven't looked too much into video content put out of the Remaster as I knew it'd just make me angry. Bioware really had the chance to claw back some good grace and make up for past fuck ups when it came to same sex romance content and not only did they instead decide to double down on not including it, but they also give you a slap in the face by making extra romance achievements for 1/2/3 because they clearly never learned from that mistake in ME:A.

Kelly looked better as a redhead Christ that's awful. I mean I always hated her ME3 hair (I thought she changed her style in ME3 to hide better, why does she have it in ME2?) But her face altogether just looks so much worse now. She has no personality in her face and looks dead in the eyes, what the fuck. She seriously looks like an ugly beautification mod you might find in Fallout or Skyrim. I kinda wanna see more comparison shots now just to see how much they fucked up. I've already seen comparisons of Sheploo and he looks bug-eyed and staring into the abyss because of how badly they did the eyes. And they want you to pay another £54.99 for this?  |

I bought a key from CDKeys, went to retrieve it yesterday but was told it wasnt available for until today. Today our wifi, land line phone and tv were down, internet provider said it was due to maintenance in our area. Contacted them again this evening and they said problem was sorted at 1pm, well it still wasnt working for us.
I was planning on watching someone stream the game
My parents constantly bugging me about if I had recorded anything on the set top box despite me saying I hadnt recorded anything that would interest them
Now I cant even watch stuff I recorded on the tv
On the plus side, Kaidan looked good in ME1 during the stream I watched

It's great news that the files still might be in the remaster for mod makers to use. However, that 1: does not help console players and 2: feels almost like Bioware couldn't be bothered to include the cut romance content themselves because 'modders will fix it.' If modders do manage to remake the romance mods the original trilogy had then maybe one day I will pick the remaster up - but it's going to be in several years at 60%+ off because fuck giving Bioware full price for an ugly game that still has cut content. It's 2021 time to let Kaidan be bisexual from the start, and time to allow Jack/Jacob/Thane/Tali - anyone else originally supposed to have same sex options/be a gay option, be that way.
If there's ever another Mass Effect game, I'm going to be side-eyeing it from a distance as Mass Effect - Bioware, has shown with the Original Trilogy, Andromeda, and now also the Remaster, that they don't give a shit about gay people, and are also biphobic as fuck in not letting companions be bisexual as originally planned. Hell, even what Kaidan and MShep DO get in ME3 is a cut down version of the romance Kaidan has with Femshep.

Yeah after seeing more footage, ME1 looks so off, the colors of the normandy inside look so off. I also discussed with a friend about all this as a fan, and he couldn't believe the whole thing with the trophy, he found it outrageous. (and he is straight lol). So I think Ill just move on ahead getting the dlcs on my old pc versions and mod away. Look for best textures and stuff.

Remasters in general, at least when there’s only a generation of difference, have always kinda felt like blatant cashgrabs - It’s one thing if the upgrade comes with new content, or if there’s a couple of generations of difference (think if KOTOR dropped for the PS4 or even the new gen systems), or an exclusive becoming a general release. But something with as relatively short a system turnover as... honestly, anything from the last decade plus...
Like, sure, shinier graphics, but WHAT ELSE? What are you offering me that makes this worth paying the price of a new game when my old version plays fine?
I mean, I’m the guy who thinks that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox game, released in 2000, looks as if not better than several early 360 games. On top of being story focused over anything else. And with hardware itself really kinda hitting a point of diminishing returns in attempting to upgrade... ESPECIALLY when you do like BioWare and make no update to the actual content of the games, just trying to make things look different... I stand by what is the point BEYOND blatant cashgrab?

Unfortunately, this is just the general attitude of the sci fi community ( creators and consumers). I'm a big fan of sci Fi but I kinda stopped hoping for having any normal or good mlm rep there,in my lifetime at least 😂. It mainly caters to men, that's why straight people and occasional wlw is all we get. I love the expanse for example, but for it's supposed diversity there are only straight main romances and a bit of wlw and poly, mlm is there but like 0.00000001 % lol just for a tick i guess |

It’s the political power of appealing to nostalgia. You offer nothing new, you reinforce biases/prejudices of the past, but it’s disguised as some sort of natural, effortless expression of purity/truth/art/history. It makes identities out of associating obsessively with products of the past and makes you basically a warrior in their defense. Even smart people fall for it because basically all western culture is right now, so it’s the water we swim in. |
