I'm playing Zeus/Poseidon, because I needed something soothing that didn't require me to think.

Well I think I finally settled on a game to play over the weekends. Guild Wars didn't really do it for me, so I decided to drop a bit of money resubbing to FF14. Still haven't bought the latest expansion though. So far I can't decide on a class, but I'm kind of just having a blast gathering and crafting. My highest leveled classes are Botanist, Cook, and Weaver. I'll probably get around to saving the world one day...? I've got clothes to weave first!

I finished the main story of Pokemon Black. I sort of wanted to go on and do the post game to officially become the Pokemon champion-but honestly all the grinding still needed to do that sounds really really horrible so probably won't. The story part is the bit I enjoy most, the post game is just so...lame! No more badges, no bigger reveals. bah! I've yet to play Sun & Moon. Don't want to buy a Nintendo 3DS tho, would rather get a Switch when I'll eventually upgrade.

Pokemon X is my favorite pokemon game! Either way, I don't blame you for waiting for the switch. I hope the switch pokemon games will be good.

Last pokemon game I played on the DS was Black/White.

Crimson that reminds me of that pokemon-like game Yo Kai Watch. This is one of the monsters you can use in that game:

Y is one of my favourite pokemon games (Y is over X cos I prefer Ylvetal over Xerneas, I love a dark type Pokemon and still haven't worked out how best to utilise a fairy type.) It loved the fact that you could actually train your Pokemon, Sun & Moon would've been much better had that feature been included too. I usually buy every Pokemon game but I'm not gonna bother with any more 3DS games, (so no Ultra Sun & Moon for me) the Switch is a much better console and I'm excited to see what Pokemon will look like on it. And knowing Nintendo any game I miss will probably end up on the Switch anyway.

Yes I really miss super Training in this newest gen, I really hope it makes a come back for the next Generation on Switch (8th gen of pokemon). I'm excited and nervous both about where things will go. All we have is rumors at this point-but I heard one rumor that they were going to shake up the battling system-but I hope it's not too drastic. I want it to still be a pokemon game. Turn-based battles please-I don't want real-time battling-even if some people like that better. So few series still do turn-based, so I feel like it would be a shame to lose one of the best of the best for that.

My hope is that any combat changes will be around the amount of powers that a pokemon can learn or an ATB sysytem rather than turning it from turn based to real time. I'm not sure I could play a Pokemon game with real time battle system.

More moves would be great, but I don't want active time battle. My favorite thing about pokemon is that I can play it while I'm doing something else cause the battle moves only when I input my commands. It's amazing how relaxing that can be, and how nice it is to have that experience compared to most games that require so much attention. Just my 2 cents though.

It's amazing how relaxing that can be, and how nice it is to have that experience compared to most games that require so much attention. Just my 2 cents though. I don't really want ATB either but as long as it has a wait mode then it functions like a more traditional turn based system and I could put up with that, whereas I don't think I could put up with a real time combat system. Ideally the gameplay overhauls I'd be looking for are: Pokemon being able to learn more moves - limiting the moves a pokemon can learn by type, rather than limiting them to just 4 in total would add flexibility to the game while preventing a player from having a ton of powerful moves to destroy each other during tournament play. This also would reduce the need for a HM slave meaning all 6 of the Pokemon you had were useful team members. New & Improved Supertraining. Loved Supertraining as a way to actually train your Pokemon that wasn't just having them fight, somthing I've always felt was missing from Pokemon games. More mini games, more ways to pet & interact with your Pokemon, a way to work with your Pokemon to change its nature (like spending time with a lonely or shy Pokemon could change their nature). A way to train Pokemon you weren't using that was more directed than the traditional day care or Pelago. Instead of a Pokemon just learning which ever move is next on their list until their slots have filled up and then missing their chance to learn all their other moves, I'd like to be able to select which moves I wanted my Pokemon to learn. That way I could more easily swap out team members in late game, if I was getting bored of using a particular pokemon or wanted to try a new one. And somthing that I know will never happen, but a way to evolve Pokemon that can only be evolved when traded without having to trade them or an easier way to do this online. When I was a kid finding people to trade Pokemon with was easy, we could trade Pokemon, they'd evolve and then trade back, but these days it is impossible to find anyone to do this with so I have to hunt out an old 3DS & have a second copy of that gens game to get them or just go without. I love Graveler, Gengar and Scizor dammit, make it easier for me to get them.

I hate that I have to have 2 3ds just in case there's a pokemon I really need to trade evolve. It's such a huge pain in the butt! I honestly never had anyone to trade with when I was a kid. None of my friends at school were gamers or if they were they didn't play pokemon. I did have one friend that liked Mortal Kombat-but aside from that my gaming friends would not come about till much later on in life. Now I have friends that like Pokemon and still it's such a pain to find someone who's still playing the gen I need to trade with-etc etc. It's got to the point where I mostly don't use Pokemon that trade evolve at all. I sure don't have any desire to complete the Pokedex. I have respect for people who can do that, but it isn't me.

I just focus on getting as many of the new Pokemon as I can. I've mostly given up on using Pokemon that trade evolve too, I do have a Graveler & Gengar storied in my Pokebank, but they are too high level to use until late game and at that stage I have a core team that I've balanced well so switching out a Pokemon becomes awkward. I lost my original Scizor and I've never been able to evolve another one. Adding some NPCs that you can trade with and then trade back with would be a simple solution.

I don't think I've ever gotten a Scizor before, but I have a Gengar and Golem for sure. I actually bought the updated release of Pokemon Blue on my old 3ds, and Pokemon Yellow on my New 3ds xl. So I did some trade evolving on the first gen games. It was neat-like I had given my inner child a present. It was strange playing those games again. They were much easier than I remembered them being, but I think a big part of that comes from the fact I just know so much more about pokemon now. (also I think they fixed a few of the bugs in the rerelease maybe-but I'm not sure)

I think it was probably due to the fact that all the Pokemon only have a single type, so it makes them much weaker to their weakness than in later Pokemon games.

Yeah the less variety in type combos makes it much simpler for sure. Hmmm, it is a pain that there's no real solution for psychic types though. The only super effective attack type on them in those games is bug, and there are no good bug moves to be found at all. That was very strange design choice for the first generation. Glad they fixed that in gen 2 and beyond! Though when in doubt brute force works at least! hehe.

Psychic types were a huge pain in the ass, luckily outside of the psychic gym they were few and far between. A Jolteon or Pikachu and a Blastoise both with a vitamin boosted special attack & defense were my go too Pokemon for a psychic type battle. Ghost attacks did major damage against psychic types in Gen 1 but Ghost Pokemon were super weak to psychic attacks so there was no point in having one on the team.

I am playing Pokemon Ultra Sun again...and I wanted to use a rockruff, but I keep getting bad natures that boost his useless special attack stat. Catching Pokemon is so hard for me. I mean not the actual catching..that's fine...but getting good natures. I have the worst luck! RNG hates me.
