Davrin's boobs I'm honestly not sure on if you can lose affinity when they're idolized, but you will keep your unique perks from idolized companions. I couldn't find any definite answers when I checked on Google and the wiki. If you did the Sanctuary quest with Sturges then that workbench was activated and the pop-up to send them there should have appeared when you tried to dismiss your companion (by asking them to leave or getting a different companion). I recommend double checking for any mods or mod conflicts that may have caused you being unable to send them to a settlement. Companion mods would be the most likely to cause that. The pop-up will appear in the vanilla game. first  the mod has their own system to send the followers wherever you like, you must create the menu manager in the Chems Workbench, it's a little confusing tbh but I tested it sending some of them to Sanctuary, did fast travel and they still are in Sanctuary, with that pop-up thingy! this is what happens when someone doesnt read the mod instructions  thank you Kala! hehe Ha! It's ok, I've had problems before from conflicting mods or not reading all of their descriptions. It's just a risk that comes with modding, but I'm glad you figured out how to solve that! And a simple solution too, it could have gotten a lot more complicated (I know from personal experience lol) Anyway, once again you are very welcome! I'm glad I could help  |

You can lose friend points even after maxing out. There's even dialogue in game for break ups if things go badly enough with your romance. That being said it would be VERY VERY hard to actually piss them off that much. With the exception of Danse most of the romances are just not that fussed with how you beat the game. yeah Piper bitches if you side with the institute-but she doesn't actually react to it friend points wise. Eh...just avoid carrying them around if you are planning to do something they hate.
Also if you romance Preston and want to side with the raiders in the nuka world dlc-I suggest installing a mod to keep him. beyond that though if you already have Preston's perk there's no real downside to losing his companion status-he will still help you finish the main quest if you haven't done it yet.

Yep I can confirm that you can lose the affinity after maxing out but you will never lose perks once you have them.
There are mods out there that prevent losing affinity. Or if you are on PC, you can use the command "setav ca_affinity 1000" on a companion and it will set affinity to 1000 which is the max value.

I met Ada, she's so cute, I always have a soft spot for robots it seems, having met the Railroad yet but guess who is going to join them  I met Danse but havent joined to his faction, but I have to do it in order to get him as companion, this character is going to be a headache because I know spoilers  need to search how to destroy the brotherhood and still keeping him as companion |

Sadly each faction has a companion tied to it. Danse won't sick around without a mod if you destroy the brotherhood. You cant max out affinity with him either without going brotherhood route. |

You cant max out affinity with him either without going brotherhood route.  oh well, so some Botherhood quests it is... need to max this paladin to at least save him, even if he wont be a companion it's not a great lost for me anyway, as said my doggo, Piper, Nick and Hancock senpai are my favs. But I hate losing companions regardless, Morrigan in the final battle #stillpissed  maxing the affinity one by one must be a pain in the ass, with the mod at least I can do it faster, Cait is still annoying as fuck dunno what she says in english, but in spanish she says a lot while walking that I'm watching her ass ... lol bitch keep dreaming  I cant wait to meet Curie, I need more females in my gang. I mean, only four females with Ada, only three of them being romanceable, Bethesda didnt think too much of dudebros didnt they? |

I think I spent too much playing this game today... well, yesterday to today, it has dawned here Anyway, after finishing Automatron DLC and making peace with Isabel aka the Mechanist, I was helping this ghoul kid to be with his parents again when all of a sudden I'm the middle of a fucking warzone  I died a lot and I'm playing in very easy mode, I mean I'm the worst™  and there was a mission activated, something like defend Sunshine Tidings and I thought it was this warzone but nop! It was a settlement very far from where I was, sometimes that settlement was not defended and other times was defended, this game keeps me confused with random missions activated without me knowing and those radio frequences being missions too  I maxed out Codsworth and Piper, Nick is stuck and I dont know why I'm collecting the tapes maybe it's for that. Slowly maxing Cait's affinity. And I left Ada with Isabel, she needs to forgive her because she is a lovely robot and Isabel made a mistake T_T and Codsworth in Sanctuary now that he loves me, I dont want to upsetting him with some sarcastic decisions. edit. I thought Codsworth and Piper being maxed out there were going to give me their personal quests?????  edit2. Oh they dont have any, ok |

Sadly the effect is lost once he tells me "I've just gotten word of another settlement". He was the first romance I completed in FO4, A few hours later, I took note of the fact that I was constantly looking behind me to make sure he couldn't get too close. Cause right out in the middle of nowhere, he would just give me a damn quest.  Reloaded to a prior save and went it alone... until Nuka World! Gage is #1  |

Hancock has about 400 affinity points, so ... first flirt .... SOON  I havent installed that "sex" mod yet for the last flirt, I have to install it soon. |
