^^^My enemies are at a high enough level that a fat man can no longer wipe them out. A freaking nuke doesn't wipe them out. Anyway, some recent stuff: Deacon wearing a Vault dweller outfit. Where did he get that? Gorgeous night sky with shining moon. This feral ghoul literally has half a brain but still keeps on going. Dogmeat gets a new toy. My baby is black. Nora, who were you sleeping with??!! Glowing one acting like a worn as it slithers along with no arms and legs. Transcendental meditation?

Fallout 76 free to play rumors are still floating about. I hope it happens-having to buy ps plus for a very bad game is not an option-but trying one out for free for the laughs-totally something I might do.

I'm reinstalling Fallout 4. It'll take a good bit of time to get all the DLC redownloaded, but hey I'm looking forward to diving back in!

Well, I don't know what's going on with Fallout 4, but it is not working well. I installed it the first time and used a new mod and suddenly the game would not load up at all. Then I reinstalled and didn't use that mod and things were fine for a while but then the game stopped allowing me to save my progress. IDK what's going on, but for now, thus ends my time with Fallout 4.

I've been replaying Fallout 4 some this week. I'm glad it still holds up, and I think part of the reason why the replay is still good is mods. I haven't added that much in the way of content, but just tweaking things here and there (and avoiding the need to loot everything I see because of the free maker) has really kept the game fresh and has improved the flow.
I romanced MacCready again. Shocking I know...not sure if I'll collect any other husbands or not. Currently, the only other considerations are: Hancock (Human mod), Porter Gage, and Preston Garvey (who I have yet to meet despite being very close to the end of the main quest.) Preston's still trapped by the raiders. -shrug-

It'd be nice to make their head canon more 'canon' but I'd have to hunt down old saves to use the face ripper on him and see if I can find all the mods his appearance used. I think he was definitely my favourite to play considering he was a scrawny little thing who was a melee character and survived on no sleep, sugar bombs, and a gratuitous amount of Nuka Cola (and a teeny weeny bit of cannibalism but shhh.) There's nothing quite like being high on every drug in the game and Blitz melee-attacking a Super Mutant Suicider. His aesthetic was very much 'hobo-raider-chic.' Also been meaning to replay my Dansemancer one day just to try out the various mods that stops him yelling pro Brotherhood stuff (usually whilst he's shooting down a Vertibird ) after his personal quest. I remember being out in the open one time and hearing one above us so I ducked into an (open) building to try and hide from it but nope, Danse's 'must protect' instincts kicked in and I had the delight of watching him hunt it down with an exploding minigun.

Danse is such a mess. I like his model/face. I even like his romance lines a lot, but man his personality is so bad. It's not even all his fault though. He had a lot of room to grow after he found out his true identity, but instead Bethesda just dropped all of that for "Eh, lets just leave him a Brotherhood of steel cheerleader with no real thoughts of his own."

Yeah, it is soooo dumb and deeply annoying that they never bothered to change his personality after Blind Betrayal, or to even change his combat barks. The amount of Vertibirds I had to take out on my main character that used him (Minutemen ending so the Brotherhood was still around) was ridiculous. We'd be there fighting Brotherhood goons or Vertibirds and he'd just be there shouting 'for the Brotherhood!' without a hint of irony. I love you Danse but Bethesda did you dirty. XD

I love you Danse but Bethesda did you dirty. XD Truer words have never been spoken. Throw in that the requirements for romancing him are insanely high. No other character requires so many specific quests to be completed to date. My distaste for the Brotherhood has made it quite a challenge to romance him every time-thus sometimes I just don't bother. (like this time)

My distaste for the Brotherhood has made it quite a challenge to romance him every time-thus sometimes I just don't bother. (like this time) I only romance him on this specific character, but I generally get as far as doing his quests just so I can get him the fuck away from the Brotherhood (especially on a Railroad ending, I don't want him around when I'm blowing the Prydwen.) But yeah it does suck you have to get so far into the quest line for it. Though sometimes I'll go as far as getting him as a companion and then send him to a settlement and just... leave him there and never return to it so he can't go hostile lol. Mostly the reason I want to test out the mod that gives you options with him once Blind Betrayal is over. I do also have a soft spot for Gage though I do use the mod that skips raiding your own settlements because that's dumb. Though to be fair I like all the guys lol, though I generally only romance one per character rather than collecting a harem. But my last 500ish hours in game have just been me ignoring the main quest and companions and using mod companions/alternate start mods so I can do my own thing. I've gotten a lot of fun out of those, sometimes head canon can be fun. XD

And it may very well stick that way. Yeah, I really like gage, even though his content is a bit unromantic compared to some of the others. That mod is a must have! I hate making settlements.

Haha nothing wrong with that, not like the game really stops you. Though the way I played I'd generally pick up my main companion and use them all the time unless they were ones like Deacon or Danse where you had to do some ground work first before they'd become a companion. Gage's romance content isn't quite the same compared to the others but I still think it works considering who he is. I really liked it on the one character that did romance him. I only bothered to do Nuka World a few times and used the mod to get Gage out of there so I wouldn't have to kill him when I turned on the Raiders. I only had one character who made it all the way through the story on the side of the Raiders (and was my Gagemancer) and well, it was extra funny because he rocked up to Nuka World looking like he did, and the Raiders somehow expected to not get their teeth kicked in by him.

Nice Raider SS! I finished the main story tonight. Sided with the Railroad, even though I'm not very crazy about their ending. I like the institute better-sure they might be evil, but I like the digs and the benefits...) Anywho-this character avoided the other 2 factions, so it had to be one of those 2, and I wanted something different. I should probably go save Preston now that everything is over-but I might go do dlc instead.

Thanks. XD He was super fun to play and loved his melee weapons. Nice, I've done the Railroad ending once, mostly go Minutemen or I ignore the main quest altogether. I've never gone Institute because evil. I generally like to do the dlc during the main story though it depends, some of it like Nuka World I did after because I'd done the main story by the time it came out. Poor Preston, go save him.

Well...Preston will have to wait, cause I decided to start a new playthrough. Trying it on Xbox since it was dirt cheap (black friday sale). I'm a damn weirdo I know, but I like having my favorite games on both consoles since I am still not sure which next-gen (if any) I might get moving forward.

So my Xbox venture is going well. I got a few mods (that aren't on ps4) that are quite fun. I got a flirty commonwealth mod (there are different versions to pick from to suit your player gender and sexuality, which is lovely!) This version makes guys in the major areas trigger flirty lines from time to time, and the male romance options have some extra lines that randomly trigger. They are apparently lines that were already in the game-it makes me wonder why they didn't trigger from the start-but I guess they were afraid of the backlash of guys flirting with guys. *poop* (doesn't seem to cover the dlc though, but oh well.
Also picked up an N7 mod that adds the n7 armor and some mass effect 3 guns. It's pretty neat, but the guns are kind of meh stats wise. Still fun!
All my favorite ps4 mods are there including my companion appearance mods I like-I was hoping to find something new I like-but so far nothing stands out on that front.
I also got a "simple male redux" that makes your guy shine a bit (like he has oil on his skin) and the muscles are a bit more defined. it's probably the closest to naughty one can get on console. lol!

I just finished blind betrayal with the "The Danse Dilemma" mod installed. Good stuff. I became the elder and saved Danse. It also let me skip over the quest to destroy the Rail Road. Super sweet! I'm feeling more justified in my choice to pick up a new copy of this game every day.

The game forcing it to be a case where if you side with [x] faction, you aren't just pitted against [y] faction but also [z] faction, that you can't make alliances, despite being able to rise through the ranks of most if not all of them in a given playthrough, honestly really did kill a lot of my interest in playing the game (because the last time I played it was before mods were available on console, and I think they're still limited at best for the PS4? I dunno, and I have enough other games to play, I haven't made returning to Fallout a priority).
Like I think that's been my real driving issue on the subject of the Fallout franchise as a whole, it really feels like the entire franchise is just in a place of stagnation, where they just want to stick to the idea of "war never changes," where they hold to that saying without accepting the potential for questioning it - why does it never change? If it is a question of human nature, can't we rise above our nature? Isn't that the human experience?
There are a lot of questions that I think that this franchise really could ask and examine, but the developers at Bethesda are just sticking to the formula, rather than expanding and exploring things.
Like the Institute's whole shtick is that they believe that they are the future of humanity, but... I mean, they're as stagnant as they claim the world above is, just doing SCIENCE! for the sake of science. What is their goal? And they don't acknowledge their responsibility in keeping things as they are - their science could improve the lives of the Commonwealth, yet they keep it all to themselves, while condemning the people of the Commonwealth for how they make do, on top of how the last attempt at rebuilding a government in the Commonwealth was broken up BY AN INSTITUTE SYNTH.
This stagnation honestly is my biggest turnoff with the franchise. The games seem to advance the timeline in terms of the year they're set in, but the way that Bethesda is running the franchise, their portrayals of things could all be taking place at the same time.

because the last time I played it was before mods were available on console, and I think they're still limited at best for the PS4? Sadly yes the mods are more limited there. However, there are a lot of great mods that can touch up things here and there. Sadly, things like fixing the brotherhood of steel questline (like I talked about above) is only for pc or xbox. Mind you even on xbox the fix is pretty rough. They mostly used voice lines from the vanilla game and thankfully Danse had those lines from the cut content...but the SS didn't. So he sounds very generic during the restored content. Also the original character they plunked in for transitional sakes sounds like an automated robot (text to speech bot). I still-enjoyed having a new outcome. Also to your other point-I quite agree. While I get they don't want to have true sequels, it still needs to progress the world building! Honestly, fallout 4's biggest tie to 3 was the brotherhood-and they made them evil just because they were evil in other games (fan pressure perhaps?) I hate that so very much, as I started with 3. So for me it's retconning the dc brotherhood, plain and simple. So we get very little reference, and what we did was broken (steel hur hur), and the world still struggles with all the same issues and social progress is going no where. (too real! Damn republicans!)

The pc mod isn’t much better I don’t think? Fallout 4 modding is no where near skyrim. The danse mod I had for instance was the Xbox one. And the mod to get him out of his power armor that works the best is just a glorified console command/force a glitch.
