I think I married some random guy who's name I don't remember just so I could adopt a child that I also don't remember for the actual goal of building a home for Meeko the dog. Okay I need to find that twitter story of the guy who did a shit ton of stuff just for his dog LMAO Hold on... I feel like this must be a kindred soul. lol Meeko the dog and the huskies from Dawnguard (Bran ad Sceolang) are the best characters in Skyrim. I won't hear otherwise.

He's a little weak at the moment b/c I'm only lvl 17. (Got a little bored with my overpowered lvl 41 Calowen) (So I'm playing my dark elf bard, only he's not a dark elf anymore b/c of RaceMenu and me being bosmer trash). But anywho Meeko has a tendency to either jump into the fray against six falmer or suddenly decided he'd rather lick his butt than help me defeat this giant saber cat.

That tweet story was great. lol But I'm kind of like this guy and I'm just like "OH NO DON'T HURT MY DOG" every time I take a dog with me, so I usually just let them leave at my Hearthfire houses as pets.

I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier, but what they REALLY need to take from Fallout is MORE FUCKING DOGS. I want to be able to adopt hundreds of dogs. My dog army will sweep across Nirn in a bloody wave, and usher in a new era of peace and prosperity. Also cats would be neat. There should be an adoptable version of every animal, tbh, including the unicorn from Oblivion.

I had a multiple followers mod as well as some random dog mod once and literally roamed Skyrim with an army of dogs. It was awesome.

I'm always going back to Erickson in FO4 to get more named dogs. lol I'm also always so freaking happy when I find the Brahmin seller wandering around and get a new cow for one of my settlements. I wish you could get farm animals in town for your Hearthfire residences. But once a Brahmin that wandered up to one of my settlements turned out to be a Synth and turned on my settlement. Worst day of my life.

Edit -- I looked it up and I was wrong. Brahmin add fertilizer to your settlements.

Brahmin add fertilizer to your settlements. I didn't know fertilizer was even a thing in Fallout. I never had trouble getting crops to grow. I used Red Rocket as my squad base and I just planted all the shit you need to make adhesive, so that I could never run out, lol. Speaking of which, that's something I want in the next Elder Scrolls (unless Skyrim does it already and I forgot?), the ability to choose what grows in my gardens. From what I remember, when you buy a house, the garden (if it has one), gets added, and you just get what you get?Did Hearthfire add gardens? I haven't explored that feature yet. I still have a lot of Skyrim left to look at, I've never even finished the main game, or completed any faction quests except the Thieves Guild.

You can also use it to make some grenades and drugs. lol I think you can pick what you grow in Hearthfire if you build the Greenhouse. The way it works, you get to choose which attachments, so you'd have to pick the Greenhouse specifically over some other choices. I've never finished the Civil War plot thing for Skyrim. It seems like more often than not people I talk to about Skyrim never finished that or even the main Dragonborn stuff even if they spent hours on this game. It's kind of funny.

I'm thinking of condensing all my family shit in one location, and then keeping the others as holiday homes away from the squalling brats.

The wiki explains how to adopt and what you need to build pretty well. I think there are three houses in the base game. Some people probably added more with mods, but I know you're a console pleb, like me. lol

Having my kids and pets live in the cities seems a lot safer than them just being out in the open where giants and shit can apparently come by. Also, hopefully, less chance of them bringing skeevers or giant spiders home as pets.

Favorite mod would be the afore-mentioned Interesting NPCs. The quality of the writing and voice acting's a bit hit or miss, but it does give you some neat companions, romances, and side quests. Bonus is it's all lore friendly! Would it be possible to get a step-by-step guide on how to install this manually? I tried to install it myself and it just isn't working. I usually use NMM so I have no idea how to install things differently. I tried to find some guides online but evidently I still screwed up. I really want to meet these NPCs!! Same with the Campfire mod someone mentioned earlier; NMM won't download it because it's too big I guess. But I'd still love to try it! Sure! I typically don't use NMM because I'm old school and install everything manually and use Wrye Bash for my load order... I do have it installed though for that rare mod that's packaged some crazy way with too many options. So I can still walk you through it. First off, I recommend downloading Interesting NPCs from the mod author's website instead of the Nexus as it tends to have the most up-to-date version: 3dnpc.com He's also got a wiki with quest walkthroughs and marriage availability on his site (there's gay/straight/bi romanceable characters so it's a nice guide to have handy). Unfortunately the version in the drop down menu is only the one with loose files. I prefer the .BSA version myself as it keep things tidier - you can grab that on the first page a couple posts down I think. Up to you which one, but for a manual install I do recommend the .BSA version. Be sure to grab any compatibility patches too for the DLC or other mods you have installed (available in the 'downloads' drop down menu under 'optional files' - it's not specified, but those are all for Interesting NPCs - HF being for Hearthfires). The fan made patches are worth a look too - if you end up liking Rumarin, for example, a fan got his VA to record some extra lines for him in Solthsteim. Another fan added a marriage option for another character - because who wouldn't want to romance a skeleton? Once you've downloaded it, extract the files. I use the 7-zip file manager available here: www.7-zip.orgDrop all the files into your Skyrim "Data" folder. The 3DNPC.esp and 3DNPC.bsa files should be in the same place as your Skyrim.esm, Skyrim.bsa, and so on. Do the same thing for any patches you want, again making sure all your .esp files end up in that "Data" folder. Now open up NMM. Go to the "Plugins" tab. I put 3DNPC (the Interesting NPCs mod) fairly low in my load order just to ensure nothing overwrites what it changes. Any patches should load after it (be lower on the list). Make sure to check all those boxes! And you're done. I haven't used the Campfires mod myself, but the process is the same. Let me know if you need any clarification!

This is an amazing walkthrough, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart But I'm embarrassed to admit (and that's why it took me so long to respond haha) that last night before reading this I found a video on YT that basically said you just have to put the unzipped file into your mod folder, open NMM, and click "add from file" and.... it worked!! I have already run into several of the NPCs. Only one mildly attractive one though Was looking for possible husbando material. I intend to speak to the only attractive one (I'm sure she has a name) tonight; she's hanging out in the Winking Skeever.

I remember the Redguard being decently attractive. I mean I still went with the Orc because I love them rugged.

If there's an orc in this mod I haven't met him or her BUT I'M DEFINITELY WILLING, TRUST ME. I just felt the vanilla game lacked an orc who was really important to the story and had a compelling personality.

I still love Moth, first thing that came to mind when I saw him is "He's a teddy bear"
