I see what you mean. I don't quite recall whether or not I was watching Spooks when she was in it but if I had I certainly hadn't put two-and-two together. Ugh, still have memories of the notorious chip fat fryer incident from the first series. D: That was definitely not what I'd expected to see. I also see she has in common the matter of not being feminine enough for a red-blooded male LI as the distance from her bottom lip to her chin is 0.082345mm further than is scientifically allowable as proven by science in the scientific and statistical study of hetero attractivity science. Or something. (Apologies to anybody who hasn't been following that utterly absurd line of discussion on BSNuf!)

I think she's hot, but then I don't really identify as any sort of traditional "red-blooded male"... My problem with Cassandra's romance was that, for me, it added little to her character that wasn't available in her friendship path. I find Sera's to be far more satisfying in that regard.

I also find her very attractive and I'm definitely* not a red-blooded male; I was quite disappointed when my attempts to chat her up went nowhere. Of course at that point I realised Sera was interested and the rest is history.
* well, except for the opinion of old has-beens like Germaine Greer.

I'm not trans but don't identify with macho stereotypes and I do love playing as a woman. I've completed the game as both genders but the majority of my Inquisitors have been female. The way Sera turns you down if you keep flirting with her as a male Inquisitor is classic: "We have a lot in common - we both like women!" (Or something close to that.)

Random thoughts rattling around: there were several unsubtle hints throughout DA3 that Sera was somehow gifted in High Elfiness, much to her discomfort and irritation, but it seems this was never really explored. Anybody got any ideas? Is it a story element that was started and quietly dropped? Something that might be expanded on in DA4? Or simply something to annoy Solas? I'm actually quite content with the latter being The Explanationβ’ but I was wondering if there was more to it.

I'm actually quite content with the latter being The Explanationβ’ but I was wondering if there was more to it. Hard to say. I've read the Andruil theories, heard the banter... her freakout in the Crossroads, being the only one who could see the pretty floaty colors, was interesting. I think it's likely that Sera does have some sort of repressed or otherwise currently unaccessible connection with her own elfiness. The idea obviously terrifies her, because she wants to be Sera and she's scared of the void and this brings up all sorts of uncomfortable questions for her. I think it's something that'll be addressed in DA4. Even if it's not Sera specifically, I'm sure we'll hear an explanation that applies to her and things will click a little better. It will be interesting for sure.

I'm quite curious to find out. Even if it is something profound, I think that Sera's personality is so well developed that she's going to be all "yeah, whatevs" about it: she's her own person and makes her own choices, which I think pretty much defines her as a character. I mean the whole street urchin and not stereotypical mystical elf thing is the basis of who she is. I hope they don't decide to change that down the line, even if she really is some sort of mystical elf.
I suspect as she matures she'll gradually become more comfortable with what she is but she'll still remain true to who she is.

^ Yes, that's my hope as well. I could see an adjustment period where's she's all.... terrified and traumatized by the revelation (whatever it is), but at the end of the day she'll say that she gets to decide who she is, and who she is is Sera.

I think I'd quite like to see her growing into that realisation rather than being traumatised, though the outcome would be the same: "just because I have this talent, it doesn't mean I'm beholden to it" pretty much.
While I've been importing random characters into FO4, I wish I could do Sera too: my life would be complete. Well actually I'd probably burn out and stop playing it, but y'know. I've posted loads of stuff about adding to the Liz Bioshock mod but I also really want Sera there too, but don't really have the concentration or knowledge to extract appropriate lines of dialogue (and I'm not sure I could create a decent facsimile of her).
Actually, talking of the two of them, at risk of alienating fans of both I think they're very, very similar characters, I mean other than the pranks: both are headstrong, stroppy, reactive, genuinely nice people but quick to anger, a strong sense of what is right and have their own way of going about it, fun but also easily freaked out, naive but incisive and a bit autistic about it, dextrous and both carry the burden of an other-worldly skill with them.
Or maybe it's just that they're my two favourite characters. Them and Rast Brattigan from Kingdoms of Amalur.

Hmm... Sera thread seems to have disappeared from my participated threads... Let's fix that. Have a pic of Sera in my favourite armour:

do u ever tear up bc your fictional waifu is so wonderful π’ I don't know what you mean. *cough* Anyway, this thread keeps dropping off my participated list so I keep having to post more screenshots with Sera. Soundtrack in my head: (The Descent has a great soundtrack but the scene makes me think of (the chorus of) this song.)

Funny, but actually I think that's one joke she'd be unlikely to make...
