While I personally am more into having Jaal as a LI, I can certainly see the appeal of Liam. Even more so when looking at pictures of Nicholas-Gregory Huffman.

It still infuriates me how Liam is shirtless every damn cutscene but no-homos a gay/bi Scott. What gives? This is just cruel and annoying, Biowur devs

Just wandering in here from the BSN. Figured I'd throw my first post in the thread devoted to one of my favorite MEA characters. Nice to see he's got fans here too - we seem to be the minority among the haters, sadly, which is unfortunate because there's more to him than the surface suggests, if you're willing to look for it.

And while I don't play male characters given a choice, I do think it's unfortunate Liam wasn't made a bi option. His romance is really sweet - packs a lot into a relatively small amount of content, and would've worked well for either gender as is (sadly in part because of said lack of content, but it is what it is). Bonus: no mentions of past (female) lovers, no hitting on/ogling/hooking up with other women. Something I appreciate as the only other male LIs we get this with are either virgins (Alistair, though we get the 'pleasure' of making him sleep with Morrigan) or super secretive and lying about their pasts (Solas, who I love but...). When they decided to scrap Jaal being bi as evidence suggests, they could've added Liam as an option at that point in development. Means the guys would've had only humans to choose from, but at least you'd have a plot-relevant squadmate.

One who genuinely cares about and supports Ryder from the very beginning, even as just a friend. I love that he waits for you to wake up in SAM node (along with his panicked pacing in the scenes prior), and his supportive e-mails and that he actually asks if you're okay during the game's events. Players get upset about him doing things 'behind their back' and not asking for help until shit goes pear-shaped, but I really see it as him wanting to contribute without adding to everything Ryder has on their plate already. Even non-romanced Liam (because Reyes exists, this is a thing ) is great thanks to his friendship arc.

He grew on me during my first playthrough. At first I wasn't too enthusiastic about him, however after his loyalty mission I started to take him with me on missions and it just got better from there on out. If he's to become a focus during any DLC I hope they will add a bit more conflict to him though. Part of the initial dislike was him being instantly 'bro's' with me. It kinda felt to forced in my opinion.
