@schreihals & Leto The gay content in MTMTE is awesome. While it's sometimes questioned on Transformers forums, most of the time people really like it and it created a very positive atmosphere. I also appreciate the writers attempt at creating a much bigger universe that doesn't just resolve about Cybertron & Earth and the Autobot-Decepticon War. The inclusion of factions such as the Galactic Council, Cybertron's Council of Worlds and the Black Block Consortia as rival galactic powers doing their own machinations in the background really gives it a more mature feel that hasn't happened to the franchise before. Personally I'm tired of Optimus Prime as well, not because I don't like the character in itself but he just isn't that compelling as IDW's Megatron or other Cybertronians in general. Whenever he's questioned on his belief or decisions he always starts spouting the usual platitude of 'freedom this, freedom that' and I'm like 'yeah I know that already, what else are you thinking about Prime?' . I mean it's his catchphrase but given how complex some Cybertronians in the IDWverse have been written he just seems...bland. And I hate it how Soundwave's change of heart about organics started out as awesome and very fragile but at the same time him taking part in the outright genocide of nearly a billion human beings in All Hail Megatron and afterwards is just glossed over as a 'oops, my bad'. Last Stand of the Wreckers was very good indeed as was Sins of the Wreckers too. It's kind of ironic that the most violent and badass Autobots seem the most understandable throughout the series imo.

Do webcomics count for this? Or are you talking hard copy comics only? Oh yes, let's talk about that too. For me webcomics are pretty much the same catgeory as regular comics. The authors are just more often doing it ouf of a hobby or they simply don't have enough money to print it. There are also some really rad nsfw webcomics out there, which I doubt will be printed anytime soon lmao. Didn't Sunstone start out as a webcomic?

I count webcomics as just as valid for comic discussion as printed comics. I read more webcomics because they're more diverse in story telling and art style, also more accessable. I could sing the praises of webcomics all day. Some of my favourites are Demon of the Underground, No End, Minor Acts of Heroism, Autophobia and I'm keeping a close eye on Raven King because I really love the art style.

Ty for answers I asked because here comics don't exist. I could order them and whatnot, of course, but as for them being available in stores, there's none. Anywho, as for webcomics there's a lot I'm watching at the moment. I've recently started using Tapas (Tapastic?) and it's great, but they censor sex which is annoying lol. On this site I'll mention a few I'm watching: Husband And Husband - I found this because I'm watching their Youtube channel, they're pretty awesome. There's no nsfw stuff. Mondo Mango - I really like the drawing style of this one and his sense of humor. Again no nsfw stuff. Heavy Horns - A more serious one and with some nsfw stuff here and there (though like I said, Tapas censors everything so no big deal really). The Young Protectors - Superheroes! And lead is a gay guy! Pretty awesome. Nsfw stuff is only available to patreons. Theurgy - This one is very new, but looks good and I hope they keep at it. Demon of the Underground - One of the more mature ones. Lots of humor, but even though not directly mentioned, there are some really dark themes going on here. There's others too, but I need to sort my bookmarks and see which ones are dead and which are still going. There's a lot of new webcomics starting constantly, but only a few manage to keep at it for long periods of time. There was one I found some time ago, with amazing visuals, which was abandoned when I found it... very sad Eh. Tried to find it but I can't remember... Oh well...

Since we're talking about webcomics, I'd like to recommend Unsounded and Buying Time, both are very good imo.

Yesterday, I spoke to a comic book author called Ryan K. Lindsay when he came into the bookstore I work at. He has apparently written a title called Negative Space, if anyone knows that one, and has also worked on comics for My Little Pony, lol.

<snip> I was also reading Rat Queens, Wicked and the Divine and Lazarus for a while, but all of them started to bore me unfortunately. Maybe I will pick them up someday again. I'm in the same place as you with Rat Queens. I started off loving it but it got boring after awhile and I never went back to it. I'm currently reading Transformeres Lost Light and Till All Are One as well (probably obvious considering my avatar choice ). I mostly started reading Transformers because I've caught somewhere, they were starting to include more female coded bots and lgbt pairings. Been reading the idw comics (mtmte is my fav) for years now and I still love them, even though it also has it's issues sometimes. Right now I'm also reading Saga, but I am starting to lose interest in it. The thing that really caught my eye was the unapologetic way the comic was telling it's modern-fantasy story (y'know, like showing vaginas and naked people and all kinds of nsfw things). I have the special hardcover version of the book, but I don't really feel like buying the second collection yet. I was also reading Rat Queens, Wicked and the Divine and Lazarus for a while, but all of them started to bore me unfortunately. Maybe I will pick them up someday again. I have the first few volumes of Saga as well. I like the art and setting well enough, but I'm not really interested in the downward spiral of family dysfunction. I used to be a big Marvel fan (i mean X-Men really), but i've stopped buying them. Killing off Logan kinda sealed the deal for me. I mean i'm totally for Laura taking up the Wolverine name, but you don't need to kill off the old one! I used to exclusively read X-Men comics, until the House of M storyline & beyond, which was terrible and took Marvel far too long to walk back from. IMO Marvel mainstream comics have not been good for a long time, there are outliers like Runways or Ms Marvel but every time I try to dip back into the Avengers or X-Men, something stupid is happening, or they are good for a little but and then something stupid happens to ruin them, like in Avengers Academy. IMO more DC series than Marvel are consistently good, kinda like the reverse of their respective film Universes. I think i love gail simone. I also love the thought of a lesbian asking me for sloppy sex. Even tho I'm usually not into blondes :3 Everyone should be in love with Gail Simone. She is one of the best modern writers. If you see her name on something, read it, it'll be good. Not an ongoing series, but I'd recommend people pick up as much of Secret Six has they can. Hands down the best team up book. Question: If you read individual issues, do you buy them digitally or as physical copies? I tend to buy individual issues digitally because they are cheaper and I don't have room to store them, but I buy physical copies of trades because I only be trades of series that I'm really into.

Manga/manhwa: Pulse - a surgeon who doesn't care about love is proved to be wrong by a young patiend with heart disease. Temen de Gushi - short, funny stories about 2 schoolgirls in China.
I'm going to read: The Legend of Korra - upcoming comic series to the cartoon. Will deal with Korra and Asami relationship, political and spiritual problems of Republic City and The Spirit World. Lily Love (same author who's making Pulse)

I just finished catching up on what I have of Rat Queens (everything before the soft reboot), and then Harley Quinn. I'm still pretty behind on HQ, but I usually wait until the bound versions come out because comics are expensive. Some other favorites, as mentioned before, are: Young Avengers and Ms. Marvel.
I've also been reading some comics that I picked up cheap at a used book store. I got the first bound volume of the new(ish?) Birds of Prey. I love it already. (I'm a big Poison Ivy fan.) I also got a couple of issues of something called Red Sonja, because I liked the cover art, but I have yet to read them. Also a handful of assorted 50 cent comics I have yet to sort through.
Um... Lumber Janes is cute, but I don't love it. Can't really think I've anything else (at least that I've read multiple copies of.) Oh, I got all 18 issues of Young Liars Club on sale a few years ago, but I stopped pretty early in because it was just too disturbing. (I looked up the ending and I'm now very glad I didn't read them.)
As for webcomics, I mostly just read the humorous ones. I read Ava's Demon for a while, and Sister Claire, but I'm so bad at keeping up that I lost the plot. I also really like fantasy graphic novels, like Bone and Castle Waiting.

Did Rat Queens soft reboot? I fell away from it. Trying not to completely nerd out here when you mention Birds of Prey, but which version is it. Rebirth, New 52, something before that? I'm a huge Birds of Prey fan but have been finding it difficult to get into the new Rebirth line, I'm missing Oracle. And you are in for a treat with Red Sonja! Particularly if you managed to pick up any of Gail Simone's run.

I'm currently reading How to Be a Werewolf I'm quite enjoying it so far. It's good to see a female protag just dealing with her own problems and a number of the characters are LGBT. I like the art style as well which is a huge bonus.

Some webcomics I used to read... TJ and Amal, Tripping Over You, and Artifice. Artifice was so good I actually bought a hard copy. Same author of The Young Protectors (which I don't care for).

Couple of webcomics I got into recently: Strong Female Protagonist
Which is about a Super Hero who has been fighting crime since she was a teenange but gets fed up and unmasks herself so she can go to college. AlfieWhich is basically a fantasy porn comic with a great plot.

For anyone who read the original run or who is looking forward to the Hulu show; a new Runways run is starting in September Rainbow Rowell to write Marvel's new Runaways seriesIt doesn't seem to be a reboot but a continuation of their story, which gives me hope that they won't retcon Karolina as straight, which I was worried about when this was originally teased. A Marvel executive went on a rant about how diversity was costing them sales.

I remember that rant, marvels problem isn't diversity it's the fact there storys haven't been at there best lately and there is the captain America issue, spiderman being seen by some as going to far away from his core appeal, too many events, none of those issues are down to diversity
