MEHEM is the only true path. Even when I was on console I knew that was the one true ending. This so much, cant wait to play as Dang Shepard and be happy with this ending. If Bioware can pull out retcons out their arses I can too.

Latest versions of some mods for ME3 like MEHEM, Galaxy Map Expanded, ME3 Recalibrated, BACKOFF and others are not only fixing bugs in the game, but also restoring many things back to the game, I love it, also including Same Sex Romances mod

See I was of the mind this wasn't gonna have a happy ending based on the direction of the series as a whole. Shepard had already died and was rebuilt with reaper tech so it seemed wrong? to have them survive. Just me though.

I read up on the indoctrination theory. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the plan they had scraped along with the whole dark energy thing. I've seen far worse writing produce far more intricate fan theories. And I think that's the case here - people reading more into details than the writers ever anticipated. If it were the DA team, I would have believed that theory, they leave a lot of hints and bigger story threads. But the ME team never had this attention to plot details that the indoctrination theory would have required. I agree. I think people believe the writers were trying to go for something deep or subtle. I don't think at all that BioWare was going for that. Shepard was the Hero of the Galaxy and [probably] became a martyr to make it happen. In a way, Synthesis is something like "I died for your sins" which is in keeping with the Space Jesus thing in ME2.

My understanding is that it enhances the s/s romances but doesn't allow for a pre-existing s/s romance (except, naturally, Liara or Kelly). ME3 Recalibrated is also incompatible with the s/s romance mod. I did just send a note to the maker of Backoff to see if he can somehow make it compatible with the s/s romances mod.
MEHEM (or JAM) is a must for me. I once used GME, but didn't properly read the manual and missed out on a lot of missions. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

Damn skippy! Yeah, happy endings are just my preference in my video games. I can get grim dark BS in real life if I want it.

It's not that I only wanted happy ending, I just wanted to my choices in whole MET could mean something, and I wanted to have choices for ''true'' bad, neutral, good and happy endings but based on my choices in all three games and DLCs, that's it.. Not a Deus Ex style pick your color thing..
MEHEM and JAM gives me just that.

Pure Renegade would only get the "burn, baby, burn" Destroy ending where everything goes up in smoke. A more neutral Shepard gets the extra option of Control (and less lethal Destroy). Pure Paragon adds Synthesis to the mix. This would mean your choices DO count.

Honestly, the Happy Ending mod just has never seemed right to me. Like, the big overriding theme of ME3 seemed to be sacrifice, that every victory that came was balanced with a serious cost - genophage cured but Mordin dies, the Council finally listens but Thane dies, Rannoch reclaimed but Legion dies and it's followed up by the fall of Thessia. The major setpieces of the game had a counterpoint that made every victory bittersweet. Thematically, I find Shepard surviving unsatisfying, because I DO feel that they was always going to die to save the galaxy.
Not that that stops me from writing post-canon fic, and I do get the desire not to have Shepard (who, in my games, is a gay man) die, given the 'bury your gays' element. But I honestly find that mod just unsatisfying for me, in context with the rest of ME3. More power to you if it is your thing, but... It just doesn't work for me.

You can still save Shepard regardless of whether or not MEHEM is used. I just like it wrapped up in a neat package.
