sooo.. Shortbus.. is one of my most beloved films but BE WARNED: IT IS EXPLICIT. THERE IS SEX INVOLVED. A LOT.. EXPLICIT SEX. AND A TW: it delves into heavy shit, starting with a suicide attempt, so if explicit sex and talking about and depicting attempted suicide could trigger a bad episode.. it's a great movie but not good enough to risk mental wellbeing. But.. its.. it's a weird movie but it's beautiful in a way.. the movie uses sex.. kinda like a tool of storytelling to depict the lives of people in broken NJ.. A gay couple that wants to open up, (you will hear the rendition of the american national hymn, performed on an ass and alos see a guy blowing himself) A sextherapist who never had an orgasm A domina who feels detached from what she does.. and all meet in the shortbus, overseen by Justin Bond. movie is directed by james cameron mitchel, it has really nice music and there is some profound sadness and happiness in it.. Its.. a really great movie.. that has really explicit sex. Like.. porn-sex.. gay one and straight one and a big orgy and masturbation.. it misses the fort of focused voyeurism of porn, there arent any explicit pink shots and such-, but you will see some cocks. and someone blowing himself.

Wynonna Earp, I may or may not have seen some f/f scenes of that show and never watched the rest of it. My dash is full of The 100 but knowing about another buried gay in that show eh, I don't have much motivation to get into it.Glorious cheese is a motivation to check out Supergirl tho plus, those reaction gifs you use of it are great. Sense8 has that glorious ship with Nomi/Amanita I really need to get on with watching season 2. Jamie Clayton: Nomi has the most honest relationship in the seriesKilling Lexa was the most stupid thing I've ever seen when it comes to TV shows. But at least it paind them good by losing over 1m viewers. The Legend of Korra is great although I don't think it can be called a tv show And comics are coming out this year. Xena: The Warrior Princess. Citrus manga is going to be animated soon. I have read some of Citrus. It is a popular yuri manga but I don't really like the step-sisters schoolgirl storyline. I'll probably check it out a bit at least out of curiosity. When it comes to other yuri anime. I watched some Izetta the Last Witch... A lot less of a "fetish" vibe then a lot of yuri out there.

I recently went through a show called "Please Like Me", where the lead character is gay and played by a gay actor. It was a lot of fun and I just loved that the lead character was gay. I've seen plenty of LGBT films over the years and definitely have some favorites. They've really helped me out through some rough periods (and my lack of LGBT friends). @nightscrawl Black Sails and Spartacus are both on my list! I'm hoping to watch them sometime this year. I've been eyeing them for too long and I just love Lucy Lawless! I liked Please Like Me. The characters all felt very real and not scripted. The writing was usually spot on; I liked certain characters and disliked others because I felt like if I met them in real life I would know how my personality would go with theirs. An absolutely adorable and lovely film is The Way He Looks. It's Brasilian, so get ready for the subtitles if you don't speak/read Portuguese. Three characters, a blind high schooler, his best friend, and his crush. Probably one of the best movies of that genre (teen drama) I've ever seen. I watched the original short film and was so happy when it had become a feature film as well! There's an Australian film that started as a short film, Drowning, which became a full film Teenage Kicks. I think I liked the short film better because the snapshot it provided was more poignant in a short time frame than stretched out like the film was. But they are both good. I haven't seen very many LGBT films. The ones I have seen over the years focused on HIV/AIDS, or homophobia, which is one reason I stopped watching them. Those stories are important too (I loved the Angels in America HBO mini series so much), but not the only ones I want to see. I think Jeffrey was my first film with gay characters. I watched it with my mother when I was pretty young, so I probably didn't "get" most of it at the time. I'd have to say the same for Philadelphia regarding my age; I think I would get more out of it watching now as an adult. I do want to recommend The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy. It's about a bunch of gay friends who are also on a softball team, and the various things in their lives (and relationship troubles). I remember it being a nice movie, but that's pretty much it. Another recommendation would be for Lost Girl (TV show) for more of the bi and f/f side of things. I do admit that at times it's a little male-gazey, but there is a payoff in the end for the f/f side. I didn't personally like the way the show ended (essentially the entire final season) for various reasons, but others may feel differently. I have a question for you all about the movie In & Out. I've seen this movie several times over the years. As I've gotten older, and become more aware, it's become less funny over time. I like all of the actors in it, and certain individual bits are great. But I don't have a "good" feeling about the movie anymore, and don't know if that is misplaced, or not. I can't really pinpoint exactly why I feel this way. There are stereotypes in it, but they exist for the straight characters as well; it makes fun of pretty much everyone at one point or other. {Spoiler}It does have a happy ending for our protagonist in finally realizing who he is and being comfortable with it, as well as a hint of possible blossoming relationship with another man. Has anyone else seen it? I liked Broken Hearts Club, it was one of the first more mainstream gay films, I think. But it hasn't aged well, it feels very 90's (even though it came out in 2000) and yeah, has bittersweet endings just because that's how the gays roll. In and Out also feels very dated and in a less positive way. I think the overall feeling is LGBT positive but it stereotypes gay men a lot (Kevin Kline figures out he's gay because his body automatically wants to dance to "gay" music). To me it feels like a film aimed at straight people to tell them how gay people are cool, rather than being a film aimed at gay people empathizing with them coming out. Beautiful Thing was the first LGBT movie I watched, way back when, and I loved it sooo much. There's just something about Mama Cass that's so uplifting... I prefer happy endings, so I would recommend: Big Eden, But I'm a Cheerleader, Shelter, and Were the World Mine. Aaaand one of my guiltiest pleasures is to watch "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar" when I get sick. Oh no, I've said too much.Yes! I love Big Eden, BIaC (though haven't watched that in ages) and Shelter. I love how Shelter's main source of drama is the guy's family situation, his sexuality is very much secondary. And his bf is a source of support rather than another obstacle or goal. I also like just cheesy films because it's nice to have films which aren't serious but still involve gay characters. GBF is a recent one which is pretty much a gay knock off of Mean Girls. Closet Monster is good, another recent one, but it is more about a teen coming out. But it's really good cinematography, IMO. It's really the same coming out story as we've seen but it feels fresh. Geography Club is another kind of generic teen coming out story based on a book series. I've read the books (they're young adult fiction which is nice for LGBT teens) and like them a lot. The film is okay but I like the books better. You Should Meet My Son is a really cheesy film about a Southern (U.S.) mother who finally finds out her grown son is gay and has to come to terms with it, Auntie Mame style. It's over the top and not at all serious, but then it has one of my favorite monologues of queer cinema at the very end where she confronts her son and gives him her unconditional support. One of my favorite current directors is Argentinian Marco Berger. His films Plan B and Hawaii are really good. I really like the stage play turned into film The Sum of Us with Russell Crowe. Back before he was famous he was in this and it's really touching. Mostly about his relationship with his dad but he does go on some dates with a guy. Finally, one really really sad film I wasn't expecting to be so moving is Australian film Monster Pies.

I've watched a couple of episode of Please Like Me and its so delightfully awkward I love it. It's refreshing that the main character is very flawed and often (at least for me) unlikable. He's all too human and I can relate to him a lot more than many other TV protagonists.

Also, Crimson , I know you said you're avoiding The 100 but I REALLY highly recommend it. I'm frigging obsessed with that show. Even if... a lesbian character, and one half of the main pair, dies, their relationship is so organic, fierce, beautiful, and romantic, the other girl does not simply "get over" the loss of her beloved; I am making my way through the third season and it's a huge deal. To be fair to the writers (which they don't deserve, considering how they treated one of the other actors) the actor in question needed to leave the show for scheduling reasons, and that's apparently why she died. But still... it's so worth it, so so worth it. I watch Fear The Walking Dead, so I know that actress is main cast on that show. I don't watch The 100, so I was surprised when I heard she was doing main cast on another show still. I sort of feel like.. what else could they do if she wanted to leave? I mean, they can't make her stay on their show if she got a better offer, you know? lol I understand that 'bury your gays' is always a shit trope to deal with, though.

Lostgirl is a very gay show that I would recommend. It's over now, so you can just binge the whole thing and it got a proper ending since they knew they weren't being renewed. The main character Bo is a bisexual succubus, there are also some other male & female bisexual & gay charcters, a twist on the traditional love triangle, lots of cheesy supernatural fun and the f/f couple get a happy ending for once. Warehouse 13 has a gay character but he doesn't really get a relationship or anything and it is one of the most queerbaiting shows I've ever watched. Although I think their attraction was confirmed after the show ended. {Spoiler} BTW Anyone have any recommendations for a vaguely supernatural show with either a f/f relationship or subtext enough for a decent ship? Something along the lines of Wynonna Earp or Lost Girl. Once I finish season 2 of Supergirl, I'll be all out of my supernatural gay shows and I'd like to look for something new before I decide to just rewatch Lostgirl again.

It's my understanding that part of the reason it was so bad for fans is because of the way it happened. {Spoiler}I believe they had just finally come together and had sex for the first time, and it was a big romantic moment, and then she gets killed off. It's like the creators knew they had to get rid of this character (because the actor was leaving) and they chose the most heartbreaking way to do it, for fans and the surviving partner in the show. I've only gleaned this from the various things I've read about it when it first exploded and there was fan rage; I don't watch the show.

She didn't want to leave, that's the whole point I'd read that she did want to. Here: Debnam-Carey reiterated that her series regular role on “Fear” meant that she couldn’t commit to an extended arc on The CW drama. “I obviously had other obligations in my work life and I hope that people know that this wasn’t a social attack on anyone or any social movement,” she said. “It’s a difficult thing, but as long as people love the show and are passionate about Lexa, I think that’s really what matters.”

Yeah, it seems like they were put in a difficult spot and didn't play it as well as they could have. I read how the scene plays out, too, because it was all over social media for a while. I don't watch the show, but even from a cursory glance it seems like it couldn't make sense for her to just leave, it had to be a death. But it could have been paced better, for sure. The Walking Dead had a similar lame death for a lesbian character right after the couple had just had their first "I love you". They even had way less excuse, since it definitely was an active choice and not a casting issue.

It's PR. 2 actors said she didn't want to and her ftwd schedule proved they were right - she was available to be a part of entire s4. Plus, her expressions on Paley last year... I'll provide gifs once I come back home. Also, Jason wished for her character to die on FTWD after he killed her in t100.

They were definitely already in love, and I think a couple? Had definitely kissed. Honestly... it was heartbreaking, but if you push all the real world drama aside (the actor being made to leave, the bury your gays trope) it hit me in the feels and so I kind of liked it? Sometimes that's just what happens. I'll put rest in spoilers... Like even though she's this immensely powerful and wise leader, all it took was a stray bullet to cause everything to come crashing down. This happens in real life, too... we are all mortal, and sometimes it's only one person holding up an entire idea. When Lexa fell, everything went to shit, and it has been interesting watching that fallout, both on a macro level as well as a personal level for Clarke and those who were close to Lexa.

I'll provide gifs once I come back home. Well, I believe you. Clearly you know a lot more about the show than I do. I was just going by the quote I read. lol Still: {Spoiler} That thing with the jaw - she does it when she's frustrated, angry or sad and she can't control it. It happened in t100 and FTWD, her fans picked it up. For all I know, she loved playing Lexa. It was her very fav role because it was different from everything she's ever done. And it was the role that made her most famous, I think. I mean, I can't remember her in anything else, except of FTWD, where even though her role is one of the mains, it's not really big and she was absolutely hated in season 1 and season 2a. People changed their mind in season 2b, especially in second half of it. To me, she was meh in season 1, ok in season 2a and great in season 2b. Her character got one of the best developements in FTWD and maybe even in TWD world overal. Slow, but logical. Carl Grimes writers should watch and learn. Her fans speculate something bad had to happen on t100 set. Actor who played Lincoln said JR is a bully and he bullied a few actors out of the show because they got better roles somewhere else. One of t100 girls confirmed it. And there was the whole Insider case - someone came to IMDB forum section and revealed everything way before it happened on the show, many details, including Lexa's death, how and when it'll happen and that JR will try to play like it didn't happen, like there still might be hope for her to return which will be impossible (this person had no idea about Lexa being a part of the finale because the final episode wasn't even planned yet) and how the situation on the set isn't really good - actors complain a lot. Author of the episode said he was going to use a medicine on Lexa in his early drafts of the episode so she was supposed to surivive until someone changed his mind. Not to mention, Alycia liked the tweet to JR that said "if you kill Lexa, I'll haunt you down" which was posted before Lexa got killed and was deleted after the episode (no idea why). I'm a TWD/FTWD fan so if I have enough time, I watch cons, interviews and Talking Dead. Last year Alycia was a part of Paley, SDCC and she was on TD. She used to repeat "please don't kill me on the show [FTWD]", "I hope my odds are better here [FTWD]" etc. It's not really normal behaviour so the speculation might be partially right. What I've found odd was FTWD actors thanking AMC for letting them work on their side projects without limitations, but it could've been because JR put the blame on AMC and Alycia. I also remember people going crazy after Mercedes Mason (Ofelia Salazar, FTWD) told Lexa fan to stay away from Jason because he cause trouble (it was on twitter). I had no problem with stopping watching this show because season 3 was terrible and Lexa was literally the only character I kept watching it with hopes of more developement, learning about her past, her people culture, beliefes etc. Since it was never delivered, I was like - ok, bye. And then, when I've read about all of it and saw how this actress is acting in front of the camera outside t100 and FTWD, I was like - ok, t100 thing is really fishy and the background way too disgusting to even try and support it later if the story gets better.

To me it felt like JR wanted to punish at least Ricky (Lincoln) for something, but if what Ricky was saying is true then then JR also punished Alycia for getting her role on AMC. JR did say he wanted to lock her up on his show but was too late to do so and yet, he thanked AMC for letting him use Alycia, being completely fine with it etc and then he blamed them and the girl for everything. BTW: is there a topic for manga, manhwa, comics?

@vbibbi I loved GBF and You Should Meet My Son! I had already loved Sasha Pieterse and Molly Tarlov in other roles, so they were the highlight of GBF for me. One of my favorite bits from YSMMS was when they were trying to figure out how the internet worked. You're definitely right about Please Like Me. It had some very strong moments.
