This still makes me laugh. Cullen's romance is great and it confuses me.

You know, I can acknowledge that there are problems with having brought Cullen in specific through as a character from DAO to Inquisition (his original writer wanted his crush on the mage Warden to come off as creepy and unsettling, leading to a potential epilogue slide where he became a serial killer of mages). He's not a flawless fairy tale prince or anything.
But it's irritating that the anti-Cullen crowd on Tumblr seems to want to drag everyone to their point of view, to the point of inserting themselves in any Cullen conversation they seem to come across just to "remind" everyone that he's a "shitty person who didn't deserve redemption."
Like... Yeah, Inquisition glosses over a lot of the things in his background. It does this with EVERY character, it's not exclusive to Cullen, but HE takes the most heat for it. Hell, his talk about mages being possessed after allying with them is both repeated by Vivienne AND honestly has a tactical reasoning, considering he's the commander of the military, there to take precautions. Hell, Cassandra, as a Seeker, has culpability in Meredith getting free rein in Kirkwall, because according to her, the Seekers investigated her abuses and determined that she was justified. Cullen was just Meredith's underling, the Seekers were supposed to be the oversight.
You can twist things in the narrative to suit whatever view you want. If you want Cullen to be a villain escaping justice, you've got room for that. If you want him to be your Prince Charming, there's room for it too. I may not agree with someone else's interpretation, but when that happens, I don't insert myself into the conversation. I just stay away and let them enjoy it. I might complain in my spaces, and curate my blog so that I don't have to see that content, but I avoid butting into the appreciation someone has for characters I don't. What's so difficult about that for some people?

What's so difficult about that for some people? Yeah imagine being so petty and small as someone I know butting into a character thread to talk about how they die in every one of their play-through multiple times. (the character being Iron Bull) It's like I know it's not just this fandom, the internet gets a huge hate boner for being negative about everything. It can be very draining. Myself I still love the character of Cullen, but I do not really care for his voice actor as a person. So I do hope 3 games was enough of Cullen-and that we move on.

Yeah, as much as I connected with Cullen’s story in Inquisition and prefer him to my actual options in the game, I adamantly do NOT want him in future games. The guy’s had his story and time in the spotlight, let it rest.
The time for bi!Cullen was Inquisition, Not subsequent games.
