Things I am sad about in regards to SW:
1. FinnPoe confirmed to not happen by franchise executive producer; she did laugh and say "maybe next film" or something thereabouts. However, was this laugh snarky or sincere? I have a feeling she was surprised by the pairing's very existence the way so many of these filmmakers are (somehow the actors are never surprised). Which brings me to...
2. The Rogue One filmmaker was surprised that people thought Chirrut and Baze were a couple DONNIE YEN HIMSELF ASKED HIM IF HE AND BAZE WERE A COUPLE. I just, I can't. These morons!
3. SW:TOR has no controller support, yeah I'm still pissed about that ;_;
4. I have a feeling we will never see characters from the series (Ahsoka, Hera, Kanan) in the films. That ticks me off because they're all so much better and more interesting.
5. Luke Skywalker rumored to be Rey's father just kills me. Not only do I not want Rey to be another frigging Skywalker but my headcanon is that Luke is gay and/or ace. Not that a gay and/or ace person can't father children but just, why.

I've always been kinda meh about the pairing. Like I'm okay with FinnRey, too, honestly? Except it seems Rey is totally not interested, so it'll be a tremendous turn-off if they just smoosh them together because Rey=GIRL, Finn=BOY. Finn and Poe do have great chemistry together, and the way Poe bites his lip when looking at Finn in his jacket is pretty damn sexy.
They need to bite the bullet and let this happen. And shame on them for not being more explicit about Chirrut and Baze, though how friggin obvious do they have to be... bet there are plenty of bros out there who think they are just, well, bros.

And there's not been any uproar about Ahsoka being bi, so true SW fans just don't care. If they make a good movie with good characters and acting, writing, etc. NO ONE's gonna boycott the movie.

Finnrey is okay, I guess, but their content in TFA felt really forced. The whole "do you have a boyfriend" line was top "How do we remind the audience that he's totally into the opposite gender at the most bizarre moment possible?" They're gonna really have to develop that relationship to make me see it as canon, which they might not bother with. Rn, I see it as a "She was a girl, he was a boy," type deal. Finnpoe, as you said, had a lot of chemistry. I know they'll never make it canon, but, at this point, I've accepted that I'll probably just ignore and insert my own personal canon when neccesary. |

Honestly I'm naive and didn't see Chirrut and Baze that way escept at the end, but if I had not heard about it at first, I don't think I would catch it. But I'm also that dude that didn't catch Avitus was gay/bi lol. Innocence I guess or just too used to not seeing that happen offen. Agreed on Ahsoka and Hera type of characters, I personally think Overall, I like clone wars the show more than the actual movies at this point. It really goes deeply into the universe in every detail. As for Rey's father, I prefer it to be Luke instead of Obi Wan. I don't like what I'm hearing of being Obi Wan, Satine was his true love, no mom Satine, no nothing. I would only allow Ventress as his other pair but that also didn't happen lol. |

I ship Obitine so damn hard. I'm actually glad I was spoiled on her death because it made it easier to handle. I can just imagine a part of him closing down completely after that happened. He found the whole Jedi philosophy easier to adhere to. I do like Ventress's constant flirting with him though  She's such a bad bitch; I fucking love her. I cannot believe you didn't catch on to Chirrut and Baze; I left the theatre shocked that they'd created a canon mlm couple! Like I seriously thought it was canon. I was surprised to come home and read reviews and see it being called a "bromance," like, really? Everyone I talked to IRL thought they were a couple. I think if one of them had been a woman no one would have even questioned it; they'd have just assumed. Urgh. They have a book out, but I haven't read it; I doubt it confirms anything, though it would be interesting to learn about their roles as Guardians. |

Hm - I didn't think Chirrut and Baze were a couple as I was watching the movie, (possibly because they sadly didn't get very much character development, and possibly because I was distracted by Cassian  ), but afterwards I remember thinking that they totally seemed like an old married couple. I agree that if either of them had been a woman, and literally nothing else about their relationship was changed, a lot more people would have assumed that they were an item. I'm really hoping that Rey isn't a Skywalker, mainly because I think Star Wars is bigger than the Skywalker family and the movies shouldn't just revolve around them. I also saw TFA as having a message saying "it doesn't matter where you come from - anyone can be a hero," and IMO making the protagonist yet another Skywalker would kind of undermine it. Mark Hamill has also said that he likes to leave Luke's sexuality open to interpretation, so there's that too. Honestly, I'd just love to have a canonically gay/bi male character in a reasonably important role. I did think it was kinda on the nose to make Sulu gay in Star Trek Beyond, but I still did a happy dance of excitement when I found out; seeing something similar in a Star Wars movie or animated series would elicit a similar reaction. |

Also love Plo Koon, Obi-Wan, Aayla, Hera, Sabine, Asajj and Luke  Rey as a Kenobi theory... interesting, interesting, but only if she's somehow a child of Satine OR poor Obi-Wan was somehow seduced via space magic or something by some sinister vixen lmao I just can't imagine him loving someone other than Satine. |

Btw I know it seems odd right now for Star Wars to have its own sub-forum but I figured, with a new film every year for the forseeable future, plus Rebels and I think a forthcoming animated series (as well as the female heroes shorts), we'll have plenty of threads to fill it up.

I'm not going to rank these by numbers at all. Order means nothing. Ahsoka Tano, Aayla Secura, Cham Syndulla, Kit Fisto, Kanan Jarrus, Bendu, Obi-Wan, Asajj Ventress, Chewbacca, Poe Dameron, Finn, Yoda, Theron Shan, Revan, Chirrut Imwe, Quinlan Vos, Coleman Trebor, Shaak Ti, Adi Gallia, and Tarfful. As you can see, I tend to like aliens more but some stinky hoomans made it into the list by being pretty coolio.
I don't want to subscribe to any Rey theory because I will get invested and disappointed when she turns out to be Kylo's frathouse pincushion.
