So The New Mutants has been delayed for 10 months in order to emphasize the horror themes in it. It may actually become a proper horror movie now! More excited for it now for sure. The MCU could use some movies that break out of the action blockbuster mold. "For Marvel fans - especially those who are familiar with the film's source material, “The Demon Bear Saga” - this news might be a positive thing. And if the film leans into those horror elements more - and is able to find its audience - it could eventually lead to Josh Boone's proposed trilogy of X-men horror movies." So in for X-men horror movies.  |

Just finished "The Ritual" on Netflix cause people keep telling me it's good. I liked it. I also appreciate that it's a good horror movie that doesn't involve ghosts, as I will be able to sleep tonight. Seriously though, I'm a total wuss when it comes to ghost stories. But I keep watching em. May check out "till I wake" later. That or I finally start on Ash vs. the Evil Dead. |

I'm gunna watch The Boy, wish me luck.  Apparently this movie is loosely based on that supposedly haunted "Robert the doll" down in the Keys. I got to visit that doll about ten years ago! Let's see if this incarnation remembers me?  |

I'm ten minutes into the aforementioned movie and I'm chickening out already. Robert the Doll freaked me the fuck out when I first learned of him. I've never been to the keys, but I doubt I'd be able to focus on all of the gay fun knowing that there's a creepy little haunted doll hanging around. I recognize that he's not really alive. But still. LOL.
I'm home by myself all day (well, "alone" along with my two stupid dogs) and watching a 5 hour documentary on the history of Friday the 13th movies. Happy 4th of July.

Robert the Doll freaked me the fuck out when I first learned of him. I've never been to the keys, but I doubt I'd be able to focus on all of the gay fun knowing that there's a creepy little haunted doll hanging around. I recognize that he's not really alive. Don't worry, the gay in the Keys is so overwhelming that you forget the doll is even around.  Sounds like an interesting documentary. So American Horror Story is back Crimson I think this is the thread we used to talk about this show in if there is an official thread for it feel free to move this to it. Hmmm...so I don't know what to say about the new season's opening accept that-it left me really really upset. The fact that in the first episode not only did they bury the gay...they cooked him and fed him to his boyfriend. I am just sick to my stomach, and I am still just not understanding if that really happened or if I'm having a really bad dream. |

So in for X-men horror movies. The Demon Bear Saga was creepy as hell. I remember reading that as a teenager. Part of what made it scary was the change in artwork, the way powers were altered, why one particular person was a key factor in defeating the enemy and how the Demon Bear could literally change a person into something else entirely. I don't believe the hanging plot thread of why it attacked was ever resolved. |

We don't have an AHS thread but if anyone wants to create one feel free, can also discuss it in here as this is the general horror thread I suppose.  I have honestly no idea what this season of AHS is about, last season, AHS Cult was so bleh and meh to me that I just stopped watching it and that was the first AHS season that I gave up on. I will give this season a look in though, I do love this Anthology horror series, might look for a link later as I can't seem to find it on tv here.

Tonight I'm gonna watch Lords of Salem. I haven't enjoyed any of the Rob Zombie movies I've seen, but this one has a great cast, a 70s vibe (apparently), and it's about witches (aka my fave). So who knows? Maybe I'll love it. There's a first time for everything! I think the only Rob Zombie flicks I watched were House of a 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, the latter was superior imo. It Follows was the last horror movie I watched, excellent and they kinda left it open for a sequel. |

Found a link to watch the new season of AHS since it won't be aired over here till the end of the month. Loved the opening, it's the end of the world, oh noes! The stew is Stu AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! Stop eating it Joan Collins fucksake!  This season is gonna be wild. Shady government operation, feels like Vault-Tec.  Demon baby from season 1 Murder House, Michael Langdon is all grown up, the AntiChrist, wew I have high hopes for this season. |

I really hope the supreme shows up to kill the new character she's playing as...or I'm not sure if I want to watch any more of that season. Her new character is the worst. I haven't had the courage to watch episode 2 yet. Still too upset. |
