I didn't mean "all" films of course, but it's often a theme I like The Horde a lot even though it's kind of just...well, a zombie movie. The characters and setting are interesting, at least, not your run-of-the-mill zombie fodder.

Anyone here watching Scream Queens? I feel like I'm missing out. Looking up horror movies online and aha, seeing some I've seen years ago, anyone remember the murderous hillbilly series Wrong Turn? TIL there was 6 of em, I could only sit through the first 2 Teen horror, Final Destination series, memories. I've never seen the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies. Seen em parodied alot but never sat down to watch em. House on Haunted Hill (1999 remake) this did give me the heebie jeebies as a teen but on a recent viewing, lordy, it is pretty shit. Still love Geoffrey Rush's Vincent Price inspired performance tho.

It did creep me out when I first saw it, but more recently I watched it and was like, wow, this is so much cheese. There's just something about it that didn't age well at all. lol

Imagine AHS: Coven, but with no magic, and every second word is "stupid gash". It's stupider and more offensive than all of Seth MacFarlane's work combined, with none of the occasional irony. Also, you know it's not remotely scary, because I watched it. Lol.

OMG, how did I miss this thread till now? I skimmed over everything, but probably missed some great recommendations. I'll make a list too, but limit myself to only one movie per series since otherwise it'd probably be mostly a list of Nightmare on Elm Street movies. In no particular order some of my favorite movies: Saw II (I really enjoy the "mystery" of what got everyone into the traps to begin with, and how to solve them) Nightmare on Elm Street 4: the Dream Warrior Alice is amazing, and this is probably my favorite of the series (though 3 is amazing too!) Rose Red (technically a mini-series, but still one of my favorite Stephen King flicks-it's soo good!) (haunted house, ghosts/vampire) Ring 2 (what can I say I really enjoyed this movie as it gave some good closure to the series-the Japanese series is good too though) Jeepers Creepers (that movie scared me really bad when I first saw it at the Drive-in...we had to drive home in the dark after that...) House on Haunted Hill (1959) This movie wasn't scary really, but it's just so classic and the riff traxx version is priceless The Stand (again another stephen king mini-series) I mean what's to say plagues, memorable characters and spelling everything "M-O-O-N" style. Let the Right One In (That movie creeped me out on so many different levels, but It's a good watch) (vampire theme by the way) Fright Night (I don't remember this one as well as I should given how many times I watched it, but I loved it back in the mid to late 80's) (vampires again) The Exorcist (while not as scary today, I'm listening it cause movies about demonic possession are actually the only type of movies that tend to actually scare me. So I list the most famous one probably as a tribute to that fact)

Separate post for American Horror Story talk as the series is a favorite of mine too.
Murder house: It was pretty good. I mean seeing Dylan McDermott's ass was worth turning up for by itself. The ending was kind of stupid- I would have preferred a happier ending.
Asylum : I felt like this season had the most potential and it delivered in most aspects. However I felt like a lot of it was never really resolved. (like the alien subplot never really got closure or I missed it one)
Coven: First off I'm a huge charmed/witches fanatic so I'm bias I'm sure, but this was just amazing for me. I loved it! 10/10 the best season yet.
Freak Show: Aside from the amazing performances in song by Jessica Lange and of course Peter Evans being amazing as usual-the season was kind of a drag for me. It was pretty gross too. -shrug-
Hotel: I adored everything about this season. It's almost perfect for me personally. While it didn't really have a good ending-and I hated the coven tie in like whoa...still would watch it again and again.
Roanoke: Eh...like others said the first half was good, but the second half (that felt like a whole different season really) was just shit.

Here's my (actual) top ten then 1) The descent - 2005 2) 28 days later - 2002 3) Tucker & Dale vs evil - 2010 4) Return of the living dead 3 (I know it's not a good movie, but I love the aesthetics) - 1993 5) Hellraiser (again, for the aesthetics. particularly the Cenobites) - 1987 6) The Hound of the Baskerville (I watched it when I was under 10 yo, I made some terrible nightmares after that) - 1959 7) Reeker - 2005 8) Pandorum (more Sci-Fi than horror) - 2009 9) Mama - 2013 10) Contracted - 2013 Some images come to mind : razorback and the huge boar in the middle of Australia, the girl next door and the "based on a true story" , an american werewolf in London and the tranformation, JeruZalem and the angels/demons, and so many others I can't even remember the name :/ Speaking of horrors based on true stories your pick made the list. I heard about that case, disturbing. :/ OMG, how did I miss this thread till now? I skimmed over everything, but probably missed some great recommendations. Let the Right One In is on my to watch list, it's on Netflix, I'll have to check that out this weekend.

Angela Bassett is such an amazing actress. Everything she's done thus far on the show has been awesome! I want more of both of them for sure, and I think that's why I was okay with Jessica Lange stepping down. Though I would love it if she came back of course!

I'm going to be watching Resident Evil : The final chapter tonight. Not sure if it's horror or not though. but still...excited! I've only seen the first one myself. And, I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 for the first time yesterday, that movie was OTT and silly, got a few laughs outta it but still, what the hell? Comparing it to the original, it's like night and day. Felt more like a horror comedy.

They are pretty over the top for sure. OH, Resident Evil: The final Chapter was good by the way. I was a little sad that only a few of the main characters in it though, but I guess that movie suffered from production hell-so maybe that's why they weren't able to get more of the cast from the previous films in it. Still at least they wrapped up the story line. Also annoyed that the one character I was pretty sure was gay...didn't last long at all. She was pretty cool from what we got to see of her though. Eh...I'll pretend she was just BioWare straight to make me feel better about it.

I'm going to watch It Follows and some random Netflix picks with friends soon. Interested to see It Follows, since I've heard positive reviews. I'll be sure to give my opinion later.

Can't believe I haven't thought to mention it. Has everyone watched Stranger Things? Honestly right now, television is blowing away the movie industry thanks to Netflix and HBO. I loved Stranger Things, it had such a classic Stephen King vibe. If you haven't watched it I highly recommend it.

I hope it'll pick up when season 2 drops.

I'll review the other movies I watched this afternoon when I have a bit more time, there were a couple good ones, but I just want to say Train to Busan was such a good movie. The best zombie movie I've ever seen. I never expected to get that emotional over a zombie movie, they're usually not my favorite. I liked World War Z as a book and the movie was a big let down for me, tbh, but Train to Busan had the depth of plot and characterization that I felt WWZ totally fumbled as a film adaptation. If I'd seen it before making my top ten, it would be in there.
