I didnt watch the movie yet but I CANT WAIT, I always loved Carol Danvers as character and I think Brie is gonna rock it in the role! Also, the movie made almost $550 million in just one week and crybabies are saying that Disney bought the tickets and they are lying about the box office LMAO shame Marvel took so long doing a female lead superhero film, Marvel universe is full of awesome women damn it but I hope this changes things. I havent seen it yet either! I need to catch up on the other movies, like Dr. Strange and the most recent Avengers....and Spiderman. SO many haha. Its funny to see idiots keep trying push the fake narrative that this movie is a failure. Like hahaha your shitty "boycott" failed. Also the weird conspiracy theories theyll come up with. THE MOVIE THEATER GOT RID OF ALL THE OTHER MOVIES SO ONLY CAPTAIN MARVEL WAS BEING SHOWN FORCING PPL TO WATCH IT. Agree its a shame it took them this long, but at least its happening now and its a success. Waiting on the Black Widow movie tooooo.

The fact that the movie was really good worries me actually XD I can't believe the large amount of just lies and slander being spread. There was so much, I thought that there had to be some truth in it. Whelp, I was wrong, and now I'm just sad that there's such a large number of people willing to lie/bend the truth just to make Brie look bad because they don't like her politics. I'm still learning as I go. I'll be 17 in two months but I still feel like there's so much I don't know. This time, I learned that just because a lot of people say the same thing about a movie or person doesn't make it true. Like Red said, I'm just glad I was able to enjoy the movie.

The 2016 election opened my eyes that there is no limit to the lies people will say to crush something. You have to filter all that noise out.

Serious question: Where are you all seeing these bad reviews? Because Captain Marvel has a 78% Rotten Tomatoes rating, so while professional critics may not love it, it's been reasonably well received.
Are you looking at YouTube? It seems that loads of people trust it as a resource because it's "real people", but it has major problems in that its algorithms seem to end up promoting the most extreme views so that they seem to be mainstream. Anyone who makes something inflammatory grabs people's attention, bumping it up the suggestions, causing more people to see it in a vicious cycle. And Twitter... well Twitter can just be a cesspool at times.

I heard they got rid of a lot, but I didn't check to see what the score looked like afterwards because I just knew it was better than before. One thing I already knew about YouTube is that a story can be presented COMPLETELY different based on the person. That's why it's bad to take info from just one chanel. I did see chanels covering the bad reviews, didn't really look into it though. You could probably find videos showing the reviews before they were removed if you looked. Edit: and what troubles me more so is the critic reviews on rotten tomato. Liking something is subjective, so user reviews can vary. But as a critic, it is their JOB to be objective and say whether the movie is good or not. So I was more talking about those. There were some pretty bad ones, I saw some sixties and even fifties being given out. But I liked it, so idk what the heck they were talking about.

It's a hive of scum and villainy.

So are we talking about the user reviews, here, or did people actually create a load of dodgy review sites in order to skew the critic reviews? Because I have no confidence in user reviews on aggregator sites given how they've been targeted by trolls in the past.

Because I have no confidence in user reviews on aggregator sites given how they've been targeted by trolls in the past. It's user reviews. Review bombs are a pretty popular way for certain crowd to rage about stuff. They did it with the new SheRa as well. And will no doubt continue. Though, it isn't exactly working for them on rotten tomatoes. Interestingly, review bombs on steam have traditionally worked for them in the past. But, it's also never been entirely pointless and hate motivated raging there like it is on rt. Maybe because leaving a review on Stem requires you to actually buy the game, whereas on rotten tomatoes you can leave reviews for movies and media you haven't seen, usually weeks before it's even available to the public.

Apparently 4 more are scheduled to come out between now and the 26th (4/26, which is apparently considered "Alien day" as a reference to LV-426).

Watching pet sematary tomorrow. Anyone see it? I haven't seen the orignal. It's good! I do wish they did a series instead so they could explore the lore of the supernatural force behind it all. But oh well.
No need to watch the original movie. Some people like to watch the sequel, but it's one of those "so terrible it's fun" type of movies that I personally can't get into.
