Saw yesterday Snow White and the Huntsman and oh boy did the promo material really trick me. It seems like a badass Snow White that flirts with the Evil Queen but nop. Sad.

My major issue with the film was that someone told Charlize Theron that evil people yell alot. So instead of this cool, sophisticated, cunning evil queen, we get a woman in a gorgeous dress shouting in her throne room.

True I love Theron but damn there was no room for subtext with her character. The movie overall is boring not sure why there is even a second one.

Saw the remaster of close encounters of the third kind. It's really sad that a 40 year old movie is better than a lot of things to come out in the last 10 years.

I'm on a musical marathon today. Mama Mia and now Hairspray I approve of musical marathons! Chicago, Grease, and Dreamgirls, add em to the watch list too. I loooooooove musicals. Last movie I saw in the cinema was IT, brilliant, gonna pick it up on blu-ray when it comes out. Last movie I watched on Netflix was Let the Right One In a proper vampire, not that sparkly crap. Was pretty good.

Anyone interested in checking out the new Blade Runner? 80s nostalgia is really in right now. I'll probably buy a ticket, the original is a classic, I just hope they don't fuck this one up lol.

Just watched The Stanford Prison Experiment movie, goddamn, that was a messed up social experiment. It's amazing how fuckin' far some took their roles, pretty disturbing at times too, to see how these college students changed throughout the experiment. A really messed up experiment at that. Thought provoking, difficult to watch at times though but, worth a viewing. Vault-Tec in real life!

Watched Bad Moms yesterday and it is honestly one of the funniest films that have been released in recent years. I'm not typically a fan of American Comedies but this was great. I'd recommend it.

The Carmilla Movie is out at the end of October and I am beyond excited. The world needs more lesbian Vampire media.

watched -What Happened to Monday on Netflix. It is a really interesting film, but I do have some issues with some of the themes. The ´twists' were very obvious but Noomi Rapace did a fantastic job of plaything 7 people though, it was very believable from that perspective. More thoughts in spoilers. This film wouldn't have worked at all of Noomi wasn't able to pull off the role, but she was great. Each sister felt very different, not just their hairstyle and clothes but their body language and reactions were all different.
The special effects were very well done and I liked how quickly the plot got moving, no plodding through each of the sisters day before getting started, just straight into things.
My issues stem from Monday´s motivations for betraying her sisters and certain aspects of the world.
Firstly, the film frames it like Monday turned her sisters in because she fell in love with a hot guy, there is a little bit about how she thinks she is the only real Karen and her sisters are just pretending and her desire to protect her unborn children but those are just kinda dropped in at the end (though the pregnancy is foreshadowed with her getting sick in the morning)
Most of reasoning the film shows is this guy she fancies and I have a hard time believing that she would sanction the murder of her sisters because of a hotboy. We dont know too much about Monday but all the sisters seem close, so it just doesn't ring true to me. More focus on Monday´s desire to be her own person throughout the film would have made for a more believable reason for betrayal.
Secondary, this is a world that is struggling to deal with overpopulation and yet it doesn't seem to have readily available, affordable birth control. There is one sign for free sterilisation but that is it from a birth control pov, so it looks like they decided that killing children was the best way to deal with crisis, over developing a method to reduce multiple births and affordable birth control. The end of the film even makes it clear that the policies of the government mostly affected poor women, who had to hide when they were pregnant.
Glenn Closes´s character is supposed to be somewhat sympathetic, but she spent the past 30 years deciding that child murder was a better solution to overpopulation than literally any other solution. Also her grand plan once elected (to queen of the world? that is not made clear) would result in restricting children to rich people, which again, not a great solution.
Also how did her main bodyguard survive Friday´s bomb? the acting and the action scenes in this movie were great, no doubt ab it. But everything else...freaking ridiculous, agree with everything u said.

movies i watched this week: litle hours: it was weird and funny, though i kinda wondered where did they all decided to go at the end? considering they are all wanted lol anyway its silly to look for logic in that kind of film spider-man: homecoming: i enjoyed it far more than i expected, zendaya and tom did a good job too, action scenes were well done too in my opinion. completely skipped the romance part, thankfully there wasnt much of it what happened to monday ( phantomrachie thnx for the rec btw) : enjoyed it too, had a hard time keeping my ass on the seat lol, even if the plot is kinda eye-rolling. balde runner 2049: yea yea i still went for it, it was pretty but too long again and i got tired of watching mc get beaten up "sigh" and one more thing: what happened to the dog?! okja: freaking hell that was rough, another example of how ppl want to eat everything, urgh disgusting,im not vegan, but i try to be, at least just for my own health the movie is really beautiful, and theres a tiny bit of gay couple in the background.
