yourfunnyuncle with the Oscars on this weekend, poor Saoirse will have to wait again for her time to get an Oscar. Francis has been sweeping all the awards for 3 Billboards (on my to watch list that film) I'm hoping that Alison Janey will get an Oscar for her role in iTonya. Fuck yeah! Deserving, well done.

so I'm bored, very tired and kinda tipsy so I started to watch Sharknado 5, for no other reason than it requires no brain power and I've never seen a Sharknado film. I'm 10 minutes in and it is hotgarbage, it's like they wrote the dialogue by tearing up the scripts of every popular film and throw darts at the pieces to choose what the characters say.
I don't know why I'm still watching it, but I can't stop, please send help.

Seriously folks - what I am watching. I'm 15 minutes in and have so many questions. Why is no one in film acting like a human - are they aliens or robots? Does Tara Reid have super powers in this film? Why are the random actual news readers they abducted for this film better actors than everyone else? Is it bad that I'm glad the kids is dead and that I'll be sad when he inevitably turns out to be alive? Why don't his parents care that he is gone? Am I overthinking this? Edit: OMG NICHELLE NICHOLS is in this - how could she possibly need money badly enough?

All I know is that Tara Reid and Ian Ziering really need to learn to look more upset when their kids get eaten by sharks and I miss Dolph Lundgren being in films so much that I might watch the 6th film for him.

Please tell me Jedward were eaten in it (they didn't get eaten in the other one I saw) They were in those movies?! I mean they do make everything worse, so I guess it makes sense.

I watched a clip of their scene, they get one line, they're terrible actors. They're only in it because they're friends with Tara Reid (they were in celebrity big brother together)

It would've been worth the watch just for that. This was pretty great

We saw Dark River today, because Yorkshire. Damn, that was grim. Well made, but grim. Also, full of Game of Thrones actors.

I've finally seen Closet Monster
It's a pretty good movie. The visuals and the soundtrack are great. The story isn't groundbreaking, but it's an interesting take on the coming out drama. The scene, where the story comes to a climax is just incredible (and satisfying). And because some people will probably want to know - no, the ending is not tragic.
In other news
Time: gay marriage, therefore homophobia is over!
Somewhere out there there's a universe, where "The Fault in Our Stars" is being called unnecessary. "Do straight kids really need more movies, where they're being told they can love other opposite sex kids? They already know that."
