I'm reminding u again, this is the game by Russian devs, u shouldn't be surprised. There will be only harmful and stereotypical rep I always try to think good and not falling into stereotypes and how a country is but you're totally right. Also Chris Avellone is in the game  I mean it seems you can have a poly-relationship with them which it can be good for some bi people that are into that. But break them up only to date one of them is awful. AC:O is the same with Thaletas and Kyra but we dont know the full list yet at least. In before we know how Regongar really works, I like the fact you can change his alignment to chaotic neutral and I read he flirts with a guy in the game which it's a step forward that Bioware doesnt want to do. But then again this break up thing... I'm like so so Why gays and lesbians can have nice things in videogames  |

Yeah, I mean when I first saw that blog with Chris Avellone discussing LGBT romance in Kingmaker and how there would be "multiple options" I was sorta optimistic, especially since we already knew there would be a good number of companions to work with. But now its just like Uhhh???? That's the best you guys came up with??? But yeah like milanawalters said, Russian devs.  |

Some more info about the romances from a dev update.
"A life of adventure and the burden of rulership are no obstacle for deep feelings and devotion. The romances of "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" are here to enhance your roleplaying experience. On top of having their own stories, personalities and motivations, we've added additional depth to some of our companions by allowing players to romance them. Four of our brave party members are available as potential love interests: Valerie (romanceable by male PCs), Tristian (female PCs), Octavia, and Regongar (both romanceable by male and female PCs).
Valerie appears rational and reserved. And yet, hidden behind all the self-control, her emotions yearn to break free. To win her heart you must first win her trust - and help her to come to peace with herself.
Young and naïve, Tristian has yet to experience love. Afraid of the pain of heartbreak, he is hesitant to open himself to others. But when he does, you won't find a partner more tender and devoted than him.
Octavia, the optimistic, bright-spirited wizard, is a true friend and confidant. But don't let her cheerfulness fool you – she sought freedom so desperately that the thought of losing it is something she cannot bear. For her, is love a source of happiness - or something to fear?
Regongar is like an active volcano. Fierce and dashing, he can't live without danger and challenges. Is there a limit to his recklessness? Will he be able to stop before destroying everything he holds dear? At the game's start Octavia and Regongar are a couple on the verge of breaking up. It's up to you to help one of them find their new love (you!) or rekindle their old flame - and even become a part of it.
For the purpose of building a complete experience and adding more depth to the whole story, we tied the romances to the main storyline. To gain the attention of your love interest you will have to travel together and participate in the story events together. This will prompt additional cues and dialogue options with a character, allowing you to learn more about them and get them to know a little better.
Actions speak louder than words. Striking down a deadly monster at great risk to yourself, swaying an enemy to your side, or taking responsibility for a particularly tough decision can impress your love interest... or disappoint them.
There are no alignment restrictions on romances in the game. An evil character can fall in love with a good one, although keeping such a relationship alive may be harder than maintaining a romance between characters with similar alignment and values in life.
Romance in Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a journey, both intricate and exciting. At the end of it, you may be able to marry your beloved, or decide to skip the formalities and live together without titles and simply enjoy the relationship for what it is. In the end, this is your love story."

Them specifying its not the player who breaks them up makes me feel better about it. "It is not our intention to offend anyone by having the two bisexual romance options in a (failing!) relationship when you encounter them. As others have pointed out - their relationship is about to break up. It's not the player who breaks them up in order to romance either of them. The player has the possibility to help fix their relationship. That's a pretty important difference." |

Regongar not being a goody-goody never bothered me, but after reading through those companion summaries... this just all seems super basic. (And gives me strong straight white boy dev team who know that diveristy is a selling point but don't *really*understand it vibes.) |

Regongar not being a goody-goody never bothered me, but after reading through those companion summaries... this just all seems super basic. (And gives me strong straight white boy dev team who know that diveristy is a selling point but don't *really*understand it vibes.) They've got more characters with green skin than with non-white skin colors you might actually see in the real world. If that's them trying to bank on diversity, they're not even half-assing it. Quarter-assing at best. |

Why writers keep bringing real life sexism to fantasy settings and universes in 2018... it's just lazy  In DA for example they had to make up Aveline' story to give "sense TM" for women to be knights and soldiers in Ferelden. Like why? I like Aveline's legend but it was like see men? It makes sense TM for women to be like you in our game... Then Vivienne and the racism bit in her backstory... Then... Dorian... Anyway, Regongar is still hot and still waiting for reviews of his romance and how he would be as character being chaotic neutral, I'll take the few gay I can get from videogames  |

Bought it this morning. Will have to wait till the weekend to be able to dive into the game, but the Half-Orcs are so pretty.  Also female Dwarf is pretty spectacular. Now to reroll my character 50+ times cause I cant decide on a class. I like Alchemist, but Druids also get a "Feyspeaker" subclass... and the bestiary lists Satyrs...

I thought that about the orc pictures as well.  Im only level 4 still (I made an emberkin Aasimar) and the game has some crashing bugs, but it's fun so far. Also I knew this would happen, but I'm kind of disappointed with the available female portraits. Feels like there's barely any to choose from. I ended up picking a blond haired elf even though my character isnt an elf. Guess Ill just have to put in some custom ones. |

I'm not going to play this for a while but I took a look to the CC and it's very limited, I was planning to do a custom portrait based on Hanzo but there are no face types for poc people, at least my eyes cant see a shit on youtube lmao can somebody screencap the different human male faces with the zoom in?  🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 also, guyyyyszzzzzzz need those reviews about Regongar   edit. nvm #limited well classic rpgs are not known for their outstanding CCs but oh well. The 8 face types are quite caucasian-looking dull. Still wanna do this custom I have in my head. I need to know the classes now. Regongar is a magus (he uses magic and a sword right) so I was thinking going full magical this time (pretty much all my mages are arcane warriors lmao) edit. Sorcerer sounds goooood and the starting outfit is hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooottttttttttttttt edit,  Celestial = too angelic nop Draconic = another dragonborn? nop Undead = not a fan of vampire related stuff for my characters, nop. Fey is interesting and very hippie flower power but I think I like the demonic abyssal origin more, I like this trope of being a good guy with demon blood. Hmmm Need to see what kind of magic sorcerers do edit. SYLVAN SORCERER CAN HAVE AN ANIMAL FREN  I dont know if I'm mixing the other games lmao but I'm happy XD need to do more research |

Welp, Class decision no longer a problem. Turns out "Sylvan Sorcerer" is a thing. Sorcerer who gets an animal companion (monitor lizard is a must for me), casts nature spells, and get racial abilities of Fey as he levels. I'm all in for that.
Will be playing a neutral good character since that's my most comfortable rp alignment. Will try to romance Regongar to the best of my ability while staying true to a good alignment, will let you guys know how that goes. Can't really get into the game until tomorrow though.

Ok I picked Sorcerer as well but Im crying now because I didnt even look at Sylvan Sorc to know it came with an animal friend and I dont really want to restart because I'm level 5 now. NOOOOO. Thats ok, my next character will be a sylvan sorc. I went with Empyreal Bloodline for my Emberkin Aasimar. Also the picture they have up for the Sorcerer class on the wiki is hot.  |
