Super pessimistic prediction: Anthem is a huge success: Biowar keeps making/supporting Destiny clones. No RPGs. DA4 gets cancelled (GTAV dlc was cancelled due to GTA online success) Anthem fails: Biowar is fucked. No RPGs. DA4 gets cancelled. It's hard to predict how EA will react to the RPG side if anthem is a hit.

There is already a few hints from devs on twitter and in the E3 interview that you can play some sort of solo/Single player, but i need more information. If its a Bioware game with a proper story, dialogue system, choices, but it also has co-op? Then i am sold. So i am neutral leaning on positive at the moment. Will follow the dev cycle closely. Also adding one concept art piece that i found very Interesting, looks great. Tech Mage! Magitek! Hmm, I detect optimism. Let me fix that for you...

Not really interested in this at all.
Dumb joke: Bioware's Anthem? More like Bioware's Lament.

Have to admit, those suits have sealed it for me: I'm just not interested in this title at all.
Reveal to me an amazing CC and some cute love interests, and I'll reconsider. Otherwise, nah.

They'll be hard pressed to make a guy hot enough for me to pay 120 dollars to play the game, which is basically the buy in rate from the sounds of things.

Perks: -Like Destiny it can be "played solo" or in a group. -Combat AOE moves look great. -Beautiful graphics. -Mechs are a cool idea. (and they look awesome just like ME armor.) -Jet pack. -Online capabilities (for me it can be a plus...) -It is Bioware so I assume that the side characters, your character plot will probably be somewhat interesting at least. Downfalls: -You do not pick a class. You pick what mech you are going to use at the time and it is essentially your "class." -It has a lot of similar competition. -Overall story has a lot of rehashed popular things but doesn't seem cohesive from the little we have seen. (Destiny clone, Attack on titian Wall, HZD- Giant Mech. Not much in the trailer seems original.) -Open world (Bioware has been not so good with these in the past...) -Bioware's history with bad microtransactions. I'm not against cosmetic transactions but ME:A MP was pretty rough. -Bioware will not comment on the story elements, and only ensures fans that it has a strong BIOWARE story. K. We will see about that. I have posted this before but I made this just because I am not sure how I feel about all this. I really don't want Bioware to fail because I like their single player RPGs but I don't think they have done enough to ensure their fanbase that this will have a somewhat similar feel to their other games even if you can play with friends. They run the risk of alienating their loyal fanbase (who they just released an essentially untested unfinished game to) and if they have trouble with the map, animations, etc. (like they do sometimes) their competitors will crush them. So lets just hope they see the fan reaction and will do something to make it appealing to single player RPG fans. I mean playing online with this group would be fun at least.

Hehe, i tend to see the positive in things and stay hopeful. I don't have time and room for salt in my life. Still i am worried about the game, i'll admit that. We'll see when they show more, until then all there is to do is wait. I do find it kind of curious that Casey Hudson left the production of Anthem the same year that Destiny came out. Could be a coincidence, but i doubt it.

Remember its set for release in Fall 2018 so Bioware being pretty tight lipped isn't that unusual. So far it does seem like an appealing looter shooter, but I want them to go beyond that.
Something tells me it won't have companions or romances though.

I'll give it a shot, looks like it might be fun to shoot things and fly around in. I'm hoping that it'll still have at least a decent story and the good characters the company is known for. Also, if/when we get an Andromeda 2, I hope the jump-jets get an upgrade that will let us fly around like this.

Work and life in general has been so crap recently that I have no salt to spare for game stuff. While I'm worried that there won't be much of a story, I'd still be suspriced if there weren't so I'll keep an eye on it.

I'm looking through E3 reaction articles and this one caught my eye. "I enjoy Bioware games because they allow me to have longform conversations with aliens about the true path of the galaxy. I like losing party members and having to go find them in dangerous, well-crafted environments. I like longform monologues about the lore of this particular era. Anthem needs the game to be quiet so you can talk to your buddies. It seems like its party dynamics are radically different than their other games because it needs to make room for your real-world buddies." sourceThis is pretty much what I'm expecting of Anthem. It took me a minute to realize that the dialogue in the teaser was from players rather than characters. I am not interested in the least.

As many are pointing out, Anthem feels like it's trying to catch up to Destiny and other such games. First it was the open world element Bioware felt they needed to capture. MEA made sure to say that they had looked at TW3's side quest systems. Now it's online social games. Current Bioware feels like it's just chasing its competitors rather than designing a game because they want to. And the elements that I loved about Bio games are suffering because they're focused more on capturing FPS audiences.

I don't know if bioware is aware of how much we don't trust them right now?

I don't know if bioware is aware of how much we don't trust them right now? I'm sorry, but it is just not possible for me to believe that what we saw is what we'll see when we have it. It's not just BioWare, they never look that good in the end.
