I have to wonder...how do the legs on Javelins work, seeing they have different structure than human legs but they seemed pretty snug when they were entering it during e3 vid From E3 video, ALL javelins have knee system like it. But if you look close enough, you can see by their structure that there is enough place for human legs in okay position and lower part probably serves as a tool to move faster/jump easier. Plus actual knees are always bent a bit. In other words, it can be something like this... But there's a problem - their legs are too long overall for them to actually fully be legs (which is why I can assume that they use a system similar to some mechas where some parts of suit are overextended and don't actually have user's body in them), but if their legs end where second part of knees starts they have a really long torso which looks really strange. Buuut ME:A had long torso/short legs problem too, so probably their designers live in a basement and barely saw humans. Yeah, I thought about that, just my proportion sense isn't that great and I know Bioware tends to apply artistic license to human proportions too

So essentially a "Wizard did it"? More context here. "It’s very much like Star Wars, very much like the Marvel universe where you see a lot of amazing things happening but we don’t worry too much about why they’re happening or how they’re happening, the science of it." Star Wars and Marvel have deep lore and explain alot of the things that go on in them. This just feels like a 'fuck you' from BioWare. Have you forgotten who your fans are? We like rpgs with detailed lore and explanations for things, a well thought out world. If BioWare doesn't care about what's happening in the game, why should i? Anthem is off to a bad start already. This was my thought exactly, and as both a huge Star Wars and MCU fan, I was pretty offended by that. Being a nerd fan, I've spent hours on the wikis for both series. Just today I got caught up re-reading about the infinity stones. Sure, Star Wars and MCU are more fantasy than science fiction, but that doesn't mean their universes don't have strict rules and that their lore isn't deep and nuanced. Just pissed me off

If you go in having expectations you are going to have a bad time.

Okaaaay, the graphic looks nice, but I don't like multiplayer games at all. And probably, there are no rpg elements, no companions, no dialogue choices and no romance options... I'm not into open world shooters. It may be a good game, but it's not my cup of tea. Too bad... Aren't there already enough mmo games out there? MMO games are a dime and dozen, but they're mostly traditional fantasy -- open world shooters like this? Eh... There's Destiny, of course. There's The Division. There's Borderlands, but there hasn't been a new shooter game in that franchise for a few years now. Outside of that, nothing else is coming to mind. I mean, I'm not a big fan of this on the surface, but it's not like it's a super well-travelled field.

Warframe essentially beats it being f2p with friendly to players market system (only some cosmetics are obtainable purely with plaid currency and you can trade this currency from another players). Same idea, basically - suits with powers. Just they got better designs and devs actually care about their lore and make cinematic quests and stuff. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ With warframe and destiny 2 existing (or soon-to-be-released) Anthem can only take a really small niche - mmofps for lovers or traditional-looking exosuits (not weird ones, like in WF). Aaand that's all. Unless they're able to come up with something extraordinary (and live events that "shape" the world isn't an extraordinary thing, re: wildstar, gw2, warframe), they're dun goofed, lol.

Sir Drell I mean who in their right mind can pick this... ...when they can pick THIS. Ash that third one is a real trick on the eyes. It's a full suit, but it totally just looks like a guy wearing trousers and no shirt. Like I said, things of beauty!

Aaand that's all. Unless they're able to come up with something extraordinary (and live events that "shape" the world isn't an extraordinary thing, re: wildstar, gw2, warframe), they're dun goofed, lol. Additionally, it also depends on how much they're willing to go on the offensive. Overwatch bullied several competitors into obscurity or syphoned their playerbases by being good, but also by the marketing pushes Blizzard is willing to make both for the game itself and the giant infrastructure they're trying to build on the e-sports side of things. They also have a team constantly churning out patches, pay2lookgood content and a new character about every ~4 months as well as new maps and game modes every once in a while. That's a lot of commitment and money wasted if it goes down the drain, so it's a big risk as well. We'll see if EA/Bioware is willing to put their weight behind Anthem like that. I'm sure Anthem will make its money back, but so far I haven't seen anything that makes me think it'll be around in 5 years. It looks just generic enough to surf the hype for a year or two and then slowly be replaced by the next best thing.

Yeah I'm looking at the suits in Anthem and they're shit, they're nothing compared to the things of beauty that are Warframes. well. They arent shit, they are just utterly, utterly formulaic. They could fit in about every vaguely futuristic Sci-fi game... which is bad because a good design is unique... one that you see and think "oh, yeah, those are from this and that game.." Like.. an Eva or a Gundam or a Jäger.. all unique enough to see them and know in a second from which piece of work they are.. but if I look at anthem without the name I wouldn't even know where those fucks are from. (not from my field. Because thats all out of fucks to give) Now Im going back to scanning those last fucking Obelisks in an sci-fi universe that makes me moist with anticipation even about the most boring grind.....contrary to anthem which bores me already.

*sigh* Just like Bungie's 10 year plan for Destiny that was a disappointment for many.

*sigh* Just like Bungie's 10 year plan for Destiny that was a disappointment for many. wow, they really are just blatantly trying to copy Bungie's Destiny. That's really lame. I'm not even gonna try to sugar coat it, it's like EA or BioWare both have completely lost their desire to make original content.

After D2 blew me out of the water maybe Anthem won't be a clusterfuck if they just copy/paste what Bungie did.

Destiny 2 is getting some positive initial reviews. It will be interesting to see how that impacts Anthem whenever it gets released. If they can catch the Destiny 2 crowd as the game is winding down in a couple of years, with people waiting for the next raid or whatever, they might be in a good position to hook those players. Whether they can reel them in is another story.

EA drives me so crazy . At this point the next Dragonage will probably be a Battlegrounds style battle royal. ~ A bitter rpg lover.

And cut out all this bullshit. Make the game first, see if it's actually good, and then think about the future. That applies to everything, dlc, sequels, you shouldn't be thinking about any of that until you've made the game.

I think I realized what my problem with gaming was. I'm getting burned out on single player games. Stuff like D2 and Battlefront 2 are what I need to be playing until my batteries recharge as it were. So yea if they don't fuck this up I'm all for it.
