hmmmm, I have Jade Empire, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen (PS3), Stardew Valley, Fable 1-3 and the Sims (although games like "The Sims" are not really what I'm looking for). I wonder, if there are any other good games where "I" can be gay? I've found some indie games, but they're sooo retro... Although I would give them a try if they turn out to be as great as Stardew Valley.
I've heard about Technomancer and Canis Canem edit. But I'm not sure about Technomancer. Its rating (70%) isn't in the range where I usually buy games. And in Canis Canem you can only kiss some random guys at school. I'd really like to buy a new game where I can play gay... but I wonder if there are any at all (sorry, I haven't read the whole thread). Can you recommend some games to me?

Don't know if u forgot, or maybe didn't play them, but Skyrim and Fallout also allow same sex romance. Life is Strange also has a lesbian romance. It's not like in Bethesda or Bioware game's though, since it's a linear game and that girl is also a super important to the plot. In Saints Row IV you can bang all you teammates regardless of your gender (they are optional sexual encounters), but the game is not serious at all. It's very comedic, but I really enjoyed that. (rofl)

(rofl) Whoops, you're right. I forgot about Skyrim and Fallout. Although the romance options in Skyrim aren't really that interesting. I've always got the feeling that it's more about financial commitment than about love. Although it fits to the setting I guess. After all, Skyrim is a dangerous place in the world and it's certainly not easy to live there. But Fallout 4 companions are great, especially Danse and Nick. How could I forget them... I'm still slightly annoyed at the fact that Nick wasn't a romance option, though. hmm, I'm not sure about Saints Row but Life is Strange sounds nice. I don't have a problem with linear plots... ahhh, now I remember that I also played The Last Of Us. TLOU had one of the best stories I've ever played and it was also very linear. Although the main character was an old straight guy, the lesbian girl was very important too. I'm looking forward to the second game. I've heard Ellie will be the next main character. Unfortunately, there are only few games where I can play as a gay or bisexual guy. I prefer mlm but it seems I don't have much options besides Bioware/Bethesda. But lesbian characters are great too. And I'm always glad if there are any games with homosexual characters at all.

Technomancer: I've played it and enjoyed it. A few "important" details about it, as far as I'm concerned: - combat difficulty is irritating (as in it's really difficult even after you get used to it)
- the game is short (even for a completionist like myself who searches every chest and room corner, it's still really short)
- the voice acting can be a bit... "not best" at times if you're really nitpicking it
- animations are quite good, certainly better than MEA if you ask me
- landscapes and general visual experience are great, but don't expect the grand scale from MEA, it all feels very... small and cozy
- the male/male li is pretty awesome (and hot ) and while they avoid ( ) having him say he's gay, it's a lot more obvious and clear than in most Bioware games as a comparison. Overall I really enjoyed his romance.
- you can only play as Zach so the extent of character customization is limited to a few appearance modifiers (a very slim and kind of meh CC, luckily for me I liked one of the face presets so I was able to enjoy some "hot guy/hot guy" action later on with Andrew haha)
Ultimately you could check some youtube let's plays to see the game and get a feel for it. Personally I recommend it.

The way you describe it, it sounds like a game that I might enjoy. The only point that could really bother me is the combat difficulty. Since I'm not good at combat I'm somewhat afraid of getting frustrated. I read that the playing time is 40 hours. This is certainly not a comparison to the length of Mass Effect Andromeda, which has tons of quests, but since the game costs only 40 euros in the ps store, that would be fine for me. And it's good to hear that the gay romance is obviously really great. This is a very important point to me because I love romances in games. I think I will give it a try! There are only few games with gay romances and even less games where "I" can be gay, so it would be a pity to skip it.

How gay romances work in Dragon's dogma?

How gay romances work in Dragon's dogma? That's a good question. I think the character with the most affinity and with whom you spoke last turns out to be the romance option at some point during the game. But I can't say for sure. I've never played the game far enough because I only have it on PS3 and the console isn't at my current home. I hope some other person knows the answer.

With the ME and DA series I always ended up finishing on highest difficulty, with relative ease, once I got the feel of the game. Although, admitedly, I "cheesed" my way in DAI with the KE, or in ME1 with the adept hahaha! While Technomancer kind of starts already very hard. The first boss is a bit of a "rude awakening" I found going the... "rogue"? route, I don't remember what it's called (the dagger/pistol), was the easiest way to start it. Being able to dodge a lot made things a lot easier. But I do plan to have a staff/powers playthrough as well... since that is more "magic" and I prefer the magic approach in most games Edit: But they did "fix" this rather fast after launch, so you have multiple difficulty settings, so you can always pick the easier one and focus on the game besides combat.

Oh and one more positive thing about Technomancer. The endings, and generally the story are quite nuanced. Endings in particular allow you to actually have an impact. I know some people reduced them to "it sux" but I thought there was actually depth to the decisions involved and within the overall story and setting.

Wow, you're pretty good! I always end up playing on normal difficulty because I usually die on higher settings. At least in Dragon Age. On the other hand, I chose a higher setting when I played Rise Of Tomb Raider for the first time and it was okay. I died sometimes but it was manageable. I also often choose the highest setting in Splinter Cell, because I love the challenge in stealth games. But in Bioware and Bethesda games, I usually play on normal difficulty (and it already feels quite challenging lol). Dunno why... But maybe it's not a bad thing that Tecnomancer is very hard, so I have a reason to train and improve myself in role playing games. And this way, I also stretch the playing time of the game. If the game is really that short, it may be good to die more often. Although I guess I still wait until the game gets a little cheaper on sale. 40 euros is much money, especially if the playing time is very short. hmm, and when it turns out to be too difficult I must swallow the pill and play on easy...even if I don't like playing on easy because I always feel like a noob. But who cares anyway...

Harvest Moon almost had an option to be gay. In the original version of Harvest Moon DS Cute you could unlock heart events with the special girls and become "best friends" who live together and have a baby but it was removed all together from the American release of the game. Makes me sad since I had plans to marry the princess at the bottom of the mine with my farmer girl.
