I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else. So it's official, Episode 5 of Season 3 for Telltale's Walking Dead revealed that the main character for the season, a good looking ex-baseball player named Javier, is bisexual. They kind of force this romance with your sister-in-law throughout the game. But you can reject it. And there's another female character you can flirt with early on, if you want. But you can avoid that. Then, at the end of Ep 5...... When Jesus (the openly gay badass character from the comics/tv show who makes a short cameo in this season of the game) comes back to Richmond to help with the walkers, you have a dialogue after the battle. And you can choose, "I like you Jesus", which ends up with some flirty dialogue. He responds with a flirt. And you can choose, "Why don't you stay?" which leads to you saying how there's plenty of room for him. And he'll respond with another flirt, but ultimately leave anyway. Which he has to since he's a canon character in the main series.
So I went looking online to see how many people were complaining about it (because I'm a masochist and also, "It was forced" "Why can't they leave romance out of the game?" (despite the heavily pushed straight romance) "It was pandering" "Who cares? It's about zombies, not gay people" -- you know, the regular bullshit), and found the official confirmation from the writer. So there we go! A canonically bisexual male main character in a Telltale game! Now I hope he comes back in the next season so I can get him a fucking man already! Yay!

Okay...I don't want to spoil anything else for The Walking Dead...but I was totally attracted to Javier from the moment I first saw him in the trailers. I was always secretly hoping he would be gay or not have his sexual orientation mentioned...but that is so much better than I expected!!! I am so glad he is bisexual! I am currently playing through season one again and now I am so much more excited about beginning season 3 soon! I honestly wasn't expecting much more LGBT representation after getting the gay couple in the Michonne mini series as well as Jesus, a gay character from the comics, appearing. So happy to have even more representation in one of my favorite franchises. Thanks for sharing the news, @daveliam !

The pleasantest surprise for me was Dragon's Dogma. I don't think a whole lot of people know about this game, or they dismiss it as a lame Japanese RPG. Well it's an RPG and it's Japanese, but it's not lame!!! REASONS DRAGON'S DOGMA IS AMAZING: 1. Can play a bi/gay character; there are multiple romances of either gender and no gating. Make sure you play with Japanese voices (with English subs) instead of English voices because the Japanese ones are super sexy and the English ones are a fucking joke.2. Has the best CC ever?? Can play a hulking Amazonian woman or a tiny androgynous lad with lovely hair. Non-natural hair colors, body sliders, height sliders, nine different voices, though most kinda suck, but that's okay... your character never speaks. 3. The combat is fucking awesome. If you care about stuff like that... the combat is fucking awesome. That is all. 4. Nine classes, NINE! You like archery? You can be a strider, a ranger, or a magick archer! A sorcerer or a mage! You get the picture. 5. Insane headfuck storyline, just trust me on this one 6. Pawn system -- you create a pawn along with your main character; you can upload your pawn and s/he/they can go on adventures with other players! You and your friends can rent each other's pawns for free. Another Dragon's Dogma enthusiast!! Absolutely loved that game! And still do. I occasionally log in to oggle my char and his pawn... 2 sorcs who use the sync casting awesome feature to do double High Maelstroms and other goodies But I liked the english voices... granted I don't know the japanese ones... And Reynard's voice was pretty sweet Though Valmiro... and special scenes and dialogue... Eh... Good times. I agree with all your points there. One issue I have with the character creator... or with the main char to be specific... THE DAMN BANDAGES not letting me oggle my shmexy sorcerer Ha!

Hahaha some of those sorcerer outfits are pretty sexy, eh?! My male sorcerer pretty much always has a his bare midriff showing. And for the buffer type boys, Cursed King's Belt auto-removes the bandages for bare-chested goodness!

Dragon's Dogma is the best game ever tbh. I always kept my guys in those tiny short shorts. :3 All very burly too. I haven't gotten to play much of the PC version sadly, haven't had the time! If I remember, my Pawn was this really rugged old man, who wore short shorts, knee high dragon boots and always had his stomach exposed. I...like eyecandy too much. I did download some mods, such as this one that removes the bandages and adds some chest hair.

A canonically bisexual male main character in a Telltale game! Now I hope he comes back in the next season so I can get him a fucking man already! Wow...I finally managed to complete the game to see this for myself. It was pretty painful dodging Kate's advances in every other scene as well as Eleanor's flirt...almost making it seem like he was another one of those "straight but gay for you" types. It was nice to have the option of rejecting Kate completely though and keeping it friendly. I was honestly surprised that they never actually did anything together as had been implied previously. I really love Jesus in everything (comics, TV Show, game) so it was nice having the option to flirt with him...even if it can't go anywhere. It also didn't hurt that he's gorgeously depicted along with having Garrus' voice actor. But yeah...I'm also totally hoping that if they continue his story they won't forget about him being bisexual and give him a boyfriend instead of another woman! I love these games so having Javier in a gay relationship would be like a dream come true. I'll make my own contribution to the topic since I haven't seen it mentioned. It's probably not widely known but a playable character named Dee-Ay (Crispin Jettingham) from Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is gay. This was confirmed by the game's writer and creative director in an interview. It is never mentioned in the game, but there were subtle hints in the original script and he was always intended to be gay. "Dee-Ay" is a play on the old "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Unfortunately he is the only canon gay character in the series to date...and his game is not even canon...so we likely won't see him again.

The Javier character is interesting. Even before I knew he's bi he made me want to get the game because of the vids I saw on youtube. Everyone... and I do mean EVERYONE I saw making LPs was making the same choices at start of game. Namely, they were backing down from the bully and avoiding any confrontation or standing up. Now, if it was real life, there would be no room for idealism. People should deal with bullies however is best for them given circumstances and everything else. But this is a fookin' game. I've seen about 4-5 LPs and no one stood up to the bully! WTH!
Touchy subject.

I wish I could remember the dating sims of old I used to play at school so adorable and sweet and always made me wonder why playing date sims were considered a bad thing. Most of the ones I encountered as a wee high schooler had a same sex option in them and usually an interesting setting like being sucked into another dimension or preparing to prevent the end of the world.
If I can stumble across them I will happily share here, they are very SFW from what I remember.

Most people associate dating sims with the type of hentai games where the anime-style girls look like girls (as in children), but with big boobs, who look distressed and/or cry during sex. Whether that's accurate or not is beside the point, that seems to be the perception. The most bizarre one I've ever heard of is Hatoful Boyfriend. Pigeon dating! XD For the most part, dating sims aren't for me. I haven't been into anime-style guys for many years now, and want more realistic looking art, which is why I'm so looking forward to Eldet. Aside from that, I need story and plot in my games, with romances as a nice bonus. As a genre it just doesn't interest me at all. BUT I will say that it's nice that there are so many LGB ones, as they are underrepresented as a demographic in games overall.

I have no intention of playing the game (The Walking Dead isn't my thing), but I'm curious to know the scenario. I'm usually the type to avoid confrontation in real life, but with some games I'm just like, "Fuck it," and do whatever. One example I can give is at the start of Bioshock Infinite. The protagonist is presented with an opportunity to injure an interracial couple: you can follow through with it or turn against the guy running the show. I think it may be a quick time event, but I'm not 100% sure. At this point in the game, you're supposed to be acting discrete and blending in with other people, so going against what is expected and doing the right thing leads to conflict. I debated, but eventually opted to go for the right thing. It's one of the very few RP choices in the game. You actually run into the couple later on and they thank you. That's the thing about games with choices like this... they lead one (well, me anyway) to question how I would act in real life.

Its a bit different than most Bl games, mostly cause it has a bad ass MC and you can avoid BadTouch and get a happy ending if you follow a walkthrough. i cant help but share some of fave screens from there:

Edit: Added spoiler tags since the forums apparently turns links to vids so my attempt at not spamming space failed initially. Edit: Also those vids are long. The interaction that bugs me is the one at start, between Javier and his brother. So it's just a few minutes. The first one does actually pick one good (my opinion bla bla) answer, then goes soft as well. But yeah, those are just 2 I found doing a general search on youtube. I remember DanaDuchy doing the same and many many others. I can explain why exactly this bothers me but eh it's a long explanation.

It was annoying that I couldn't travel fast from place A to B without a travel stone. I don't remember the details anymore but it was kinda complicated.
