Eldet - LGBT medieval visual novel

I was confused about the count when I was reading stuff too, it feels like he took out one and just didn't change the advertising for the game so he's coming up one short.  I got pretty annoyed with how all of that was going down on the tumblr page too.  It was like he was offended that people were disappointed that he cut one of the romances.  Question though, was that romance part of the funding goals?  cause there must have been a lot of drama for him to get so mad. 

It seemed to me that he was offended with the excessive focus on that one character, especially since he is white. I think it would have played out differently, with different tones, if it had been one of the other characters.

I'm not sure, because I'd learned about the game after the campaign was over. But it certainly looked as if it had been part of the funding goals at some point during its time on kickstarter, although I don't see the image of the remaining character anywhere. But there's written: "$ 13,000 - six secondary love interests added - goal reached!" That sounds as if a sixth character had been planned.

What a pity. Some irrational part in me had the hope that Eldet would be the sixth LI, because he had once made some suggestions about it. But I think he had rejected the idea. 

Yeah that's the thing the focus was on him cause he's the only option that was removed. I know a few people were mad cause a white option was removed...but it felt like he ran with that scandal as a way to mull over the fact he was shorting people of a planned romance-though for all I know he replaced him with someone else.  I have no clue.  Still it felt off to me...  I didn't like the looks of the cut guy anyway, he was ginger but that was all I like about him.  I only have eyes for the elf at the moment.  I hope though the others will be awesome too.  I liked the other option you could flirt with in the demo too though.   

He was very vauge about that.  I think he just meant you'd have that magical partnership with him though.  It almost sounds like you are kind of possessed by him.  kind of creepy honestly.   My younger self would not be able to play the game cause of hyper religious conflict and irrational fear of such a thing.  (movies about possession still scare me)

Rouccoco Hah as you were writing that, I did find that update you were referring to, and your posts. I've only been skimming the updates, and not read any character bios or anything, because I want to go in with as little info as possible. That's why I didn't know about his removal.

I tend to read parts where he talks about designing scenes and such, because I find that stuff interesting (loved the animation work!), but skip right over character stuff because I want to learn about them in the game itself, along with Kunal, like meeting a real person. I can always go back and read them for extra bits after the first play.

Can you explain this to me?? Is it just the way he looks, or what? When I first saw that people wanted him I was basically like . I'll admit I've been into my share of villains, but would never actually romance one.

hmm, It's difficult to explain. I've always been fascinated by evil/dark characters, or characters with dubious morals. in Star Wars, I also liked the conflict with the dark side of the force. I especially like evil characters that suddenly have to deal with feelings that they never knew before or that they tried to avoid, no matter what. Those contrasts are quite interesting. You know the character is evil. He either feels hate or he's cold hearted and indifferent about love and other peoples feelings. Maybe he doesn't even know what true affection means... And yet he falls in love with another person ot of a sudden and has to deal with these new discovered feelings. This can be very exciting, especially if those new feelings lead to inner conflicts and to an attempt to fight them. But yeah, I also like Eldets look. And he seems very mysterious. You just want to know who he is and "what" he is. And he's probably bound up with the protagonist or his mind, so there's some kind of special connection between these two characters, which could lead to an interesting dynamic as well. 

Oh man. That's a bummer about Bradach. He was the best looking one in my opinion. I mean, there are still plenty of other good looking guys, but it stinks that the ging is the one that got dropped as an LI. There aren't a ton of male ging LI's in games, even less if you are talking m/m LI's. I mean, there's Gil and one of the daddies in dream daddy. But......who else? So it stinks that the sexy ging bear is the guy who gets dropped but the ripped blond gets to stay. But it's not my game and he seems to have his reasons. I'm sure it will still be a pretty great game.

I feel bad for him that he was getting so frustrated about people focused on one of the white characters getting removed. I think people who are saying that's it's a problem because of diversity are pretty foolish. He promised diversity and there's a ton of it and one less white guy doesn't change that. Side note: in that blog post linked earlier, he mentions that there are now two black guys, two white guys, two Asian guys, two Arabic/middle eastern guys, and two mixed race guys. Who is the other white fuy beside Luca? Farron? Or that other elf that looks like a thinner Farron? That would be my only minor grip -- the two elf LIs look a ton alike. And he has some other really cool diverse looking elves in his concept art, so it's a bummer that both romanceable elves have similar facial features, long dark hair, blue eyes, facial hair.

Anyway, not to sound nitpicky, since I'm excited for this (even if it's going to be pretty tame compared to what I was hoping for). So good on him for creating a game like this and sticking to his prinicples!

One more minor gripe since I'm griping 😜

There is a serious lack of body hair on these guys. Only two of them have more than a light sprinkling of chest hair. Boo! One more reason that Farron is clearly the best LI! 😉

Who would have thought that I'd be a fan of the long haired elf? Cognitive dissonance is a go!
