I'm in the process of saving Jack in Mass Effect 3. The early game starts to pick up at this point a bit thankfully.

Just saved Eve, and I still laugh that Victus and Wrex both say they have missions to give me in private (cause they weren't alone with me) so we go to the war room where they are still in ear shot of each other and even more people to listen in. Privacy achieved!

So I just started a new run of Mass Effect 3. I am playing as an engineer. It's a great class, but it doesn't have a great way to deal with guardian's shields, so I picked lash as my bonus power. It is probably an odd choice, but it is a rather fun power to use. It has a really short cooldown so it can be quite amusing in battle! One of my favorite builds uses proximity mine. You can fire it at guardians feet to deal with them, and with the area bonus it will usually hit enemies behind cover. So that works well with Engineer.

I wonder if it's a combat power or a tech power? It'd be nice if it got the damage bonus from the engineer passives. I know lash doesn't.

Pretty sure i remember my engineering boosting the damage with passives. But it's been a while.

Either way, I'll probably give it a shot. I like to change bonus powers occasionally just to keep the combat a bit more fresh!

Can someone explain me please why people have such a problem with Garrus x Tali? I don't have a problem with that pairing really, but I am against squaddies and companions hooking up in general cause it cuts into the word budget which already so very slim. If the games were made with unlimited resources and word budgets I would be fine with some of them like that one for example.

Can someone explain me please why people have such a problem with Garrus x Tali? In general, it's because of possessiveness - 'no, keep your hands off my man,' 'bros before hoes,' etc. Because they may hook up when not romancing the PC, that means somehow that their partner is cheating on them and yadda yadda. Yeah, I'm fine with these hookups, really. I can't imagine that Garrus and Tali canoodling in the main battery or Dorian and Bull hooking up through banter results in any serious dip in budget, because these are already existing animations and dialogue, things that aren't asking for a great deal more work than anything else.

First time discovering this thread, so sorry in advance for all the old quotage! Since I only ever played ME3 with Citadel dlc installed, I had a different take on the nightmares. When we see that person who looks just like Shepard at the end of the last scene, I always assumed that was the clone. The clone did die, after all, so it was a logical conclusion. It's just that it was [based on base game] the wrong one. That's meant to be the real Shepard, which is probably a big reason why so many people drew the conclusion that Shepard was meant to die in the end. Sure, you had options, but Shepard was meant to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good. Aside from the fact that I adore the Citadel dlc (even if its tone is drastically different from the rest of the game), I like the idea that we see the clone in the nightmare. It shows that the clone was a real loss to Shepard (I know it's at odds with kicking him to make him drop, but I tend toward Paragon), as much as anyone else. If you played a Colonist Shepard, it can feel even worse, since Shepard had watched everyone he knew die at the hands of batarian slavers. This could have been a chance to build a family - even if cloning was behind it - but then it's lost. Anyway, I love seeing what I will probably always view as the clone in the nightmare. This is slightly different from what you're saying, but this reminds me of what I really love about Citadel's story, in that it highlights what makes this series special, and that's the relationship your character has with his/her squadmates. We see in the Clone someone who has none of these, who's basically used as a weapon and has thus only sees people as potential tools, and this is instrumental to his/her downfall more so than Shepard themselves. It isn't just Shepard that makes all this possible, it's these unique people who they've convinced through their resolve to follow to hell and back. So...I was watching some reviews on the original trilogy and I was hit with such a strong sense of nostalgia. I get what you mean. What ones have you watched? The one I've seen that I absolutely love is from the creator Raycevik, who is not only very through, well spoken and well researched, but also is candid about what is good and what is bad about each game in the series. I'm curious/interested to see what he'll say with regards to Andromeda. Hell yea, love the original trilogy. Still need to romance Tali one of these days...still urked about the whole portrait reveal...but what can ya do. I'll be honest, I've found it super hard to consider romancing her. I just remember when I first played it and my initial reaction to her being sort of the "kid sister" of the group, it's hard for me to consider her as a romantic character for my Shepard. I am going to do that run-through one of these days, though, sometime after I finish this playthrough I'm on now. The ME Trilogy is one of those games I replay on a regular bases, like FF7 or FF10. I'd love to be able to play it on my PS4 and finally retire my Xbox 360. I have been hoping Microsoft gives me a few game reasons to buy the XboxOneX so I'd at least have the backwards compatibility but so far it seems to be the 'most powerful console in the world' with nothing to play on it. Same here -- in order to do this replay of the trilogy, I've had to basically trade my PS4 with my dad so that he can play Fallout 4 again, which is fine, but slightly annoying if I want to, say, go through the new HZD expansion, or play a little Overwatch. Makes it a little easier to focus on ME, though! I can see what you mean by that, but...for me, combat in ME1 was a slog to get through instead of an enjoyable experience. So even if a remaster came out, I would still probably be using saves from my original ME1 runs and went into 2 and 3 with those if possible. The ME1 combat is odd. I can't say it has bad controls since they aren't. Just the whole thing...lacks punch. Enemies don't really react to being hit, the sound effect are...oddly toothless, damaging combat powers outside of maybe Carnage don't really feel like they do anything (I know they do, but they don't feel that way), outside of weapon skill and damage/rate of fire there isn't really a difference in weapon behavior... I love ME1, but it's despite the gameplay, not thanks to it, and I wish I could play it again, but I just can't handle its combat anymore. IMO the issue with the combat was actually the leveling system. Each ability had a fuck ton of levels to them so each point you added to it was a tiny improvement. If you compare a power at the start of the game to what it is like by the time you'd level'd it, there is a huge difference, but you get there in such tiny incremental parts that you never get this feeling of 'fuck, yeah I'm awesome' That and the pain in the arse inventory are my biggest ME1 issues and ME2 basically fixed those problems. I agree with all of those -- it's part of why, controversial as it might seem, I feel like Andromeda is in many ways "ME1 done right." Can someone explain me please why people have such a problem with Garrus x Tali? In general, it's because of possessiveness - 'no, keep your hands off my man,' 'bros before hoes,' etc. Because they may hook up when not romancing the PC, that means somehow that their partner is cheating on them and yadda yadda. Agreed -- I love stuff like other companions hooking up because it helps further the characterization of the characters and makes them feel more alive. Like, why is my main character the only one hooking up with someone? With all the life and death situations they're in, and, frankly, as fit and hot as they all are, you would think there's a bit more co-mingling than what we usually see!

My time with the trilogy has been going quite well. Right from the start I was immediately immersed in the world all over again and it felt so good. All I want to do was continue playing the game, explore the Citadel, drive around in the Mako while listening to my Mass Effect playlist, and fall in love with the companions and crew all over again. Although I still have a few worlds to explore, I am nearing the end with only Virmire left. I just completed Noveria and while I know most people don't like it....it was one of the first emotional moments I encountered in the franchise. I felt so sorry for Matriarch Benezia and Liara. Anyway, I am really excited about finishing this one and moving on to the second game! That's where things really start to pick up and I miss Kelly! JayKay Yes, I believe that was the one I was referring to when I made that post! His reviews were so well done and I enjoyed watching them. I love finding reviews lime that on my favorite games and franchises. It's a fun and entertaining way to pass time. Now I am finally playing the trilogy again and it feels so good.

Part of me has always wanted to try getting Liara last to see her reaction to Shep in game rather than just on YouTube, but I can never bring myself to leave her trapped for so long and I couldn't bare to prevent Liara from speaking to her mother before she dies.

I have a problem with that in general -- it's really easy for me to slip into doing the story I more or less prefer/is my canon. Like, in the current run I'm doing now, I'm trying to tell myself to stick to romancing Garrus for ME3 and NOT go back to Liara.
