Although I'll be honest I wasn't cemented until that kiss at the end of the shadow broker dlc.

Oh yeah, it's definitely the best DLC of ME2, I'm going to get into it soon, but first I'm gonna do the Suicide Mission, then Lair, then Arrival and onto ME3.

I can't believe some people did arrival before the suicide mission. That is crazy to me lol.

It sort of feels like the Arrival dlc takes place before the suicide mission anyway though, since Shepard still doesn't go in to face trial or anything else yet. So for me, it just depends on how I feel about playing it before or after. It always feels like it doesn't fit the timeline for me.

I dunno, I guess it just feels like in the overall story that stopping a full-on invasion ends up making the fighting the Collectors a little anti-climactic.
As for not going to face trail immediately. In my head/my canon playthrough, I have it that Shepard tries to keep going, looking for new leads to stop the Reapers, but the guilt of what happened at the Alpha Relay just keeps digging in and in until he realizes that he has to face the music -- plus there he might be able to at least get SOMEONE within the Alliance to try and take things seriously about the Reapers.

I honestly don't care much for Liara (I have issues with her that I won't get into here and now), but I do still take her along to the Benezia confrontation. From Shepard's point of view, it's hoping that having her daughter there will have an effect on Benezia, and from my perspective... Honestly, it at least lets me view her taking the zen 'I choose to remember Benezia as she was' path as Liara repressing her emotions, because her complete non-reaction when not brought along bugs the crap out of me.

As for Arrival, honestly, yeah, I have to play it as the last thing in my ME2 run. It's just plainly the cap to the game, considering that it's discussing the Reapers actually arriving in the galaxy - ME2's main game ends with that shot of the Reapers approaching the galaxy en masse, it makes no sense that they were already 'arriving' in the galaxy at that time, especially since Harbinger was show to be at the head of the invasion fleet.
I can see an argument for Lair of the Shadow Broker being in the course of the main game, since it's Cerberus intel that gives the lead on the Broker's location, which it doesn't really make sense for Shepard to receive after telling Joker to lose the Illusive Man's channel, but Arrival? Yeah, I feel like it has to be after the main game.

In my first playthrough I did that because I didnt even know what I was doing lol it's super annoying this fucking mission triggers itself so soon in the game, kinda what's happening to me right now with Far Harbor in Fallout 4 I mean you can headcanon anything (you talk with the Collector general if you didnt complete the SM) but personally this mission should be done the last just because of climax of that last scene with the Reapers coming.

Me after finishing the Suicide Mission: Okay, awesome, maybe I'll just set myself up for Liar of the Shadow Broker and close up for the night.
Me a couple hours later after finishing Liar of the Shadow Broker: Shit.

So I just started ME3 with my first Femshep, and one of the immediate things I've noticed that grates at me is her fUCKING WALKING JESUS CHRIST. My Commander Shepard is a take-no-shit, chargin'-in-your-shit certified badass motherfucker, she's not going to walk around the Citadel or the Normandy like she's fucking trolloping through the goddamn daisies! It already peeves me that she's always had the arms of a fucking anorexic model, but FUCK! ...Okay, think I got that out of my system.

I just completed Noveria and while I know most people don't like it....it was one of the first emotional moments I encountered in the franchise. I felt so sorry for Matriarch Benezia and Liara. Bringing Liara along for this mission is a must, Benezia's last words to her always make me tear up. I have not brought her along, just to see what it was like, but I prefer to have her there. Similarly, Javik is a must for Thessia, but sometimes I just have to have Kaidan with me. And on Eden Prime, part 2, I like having the Virmire Survivor present. I know others like Javik earlier in the game, but the dialogue with Kaidan (or Ash, I suppose, but I never have her) on the way down is worth waiting for Javik. Oh, and Tali when rescuing Admiral Korris, but mainly because of how she speaks to Jona's second dying parent.

Seeing her illusions of the protheans totally shattered is some damn good character development.

I honestly wish we didn't HAVE to bring Liara. that's 2 quests we are forced to bring her, aside from the main story quests were you have no option but her and the time James is forced out for her. It's really annoying. I get the Thessia one a bit, but I really don't think she had to go on the Javik quest. She does nothing honestly other than blather on and explain why Shepard knows more about the Protheans then she does. v.v

Worse, we can't even poke her rose-colored glasses about the protheans - a culture who calls themselves an empire are all about peaceful coexistence and the spreading of knowledge. But because she WANTS the protheans to be everything she prizes and respects, well, then that's what she'll envision, goddessdammit! Honestly, that's part of the reason I always go to Eden Prime early, because at least the limited party selection at the point makes it more palatable that she's brought along. Admittedly, I go after Palaven, so I also have Garrus and EDI as options, but... Thessia's a problem for me too, because the reason she says she should go is honestly the exact reason she shouldn't. She's openly and vocally distraught, emotionally compromised, she can't think clearly, honestly from the standpoint of a commanding officer, that should ground her - cops and soldiers are benched when their judgement will be compromised in a given encounter, taking Liara out on Thessia when she is openly distressed about what's going on is just ASKING for trouble.

In ME1, Liara learned that much of what she thought to be true of the Protheans was wrong. There is only one real Prothean expert in the galaxy and that's Shepard. That said, Shiala did have the Prothean Cipher, which is significant, and Liara also had access to Shepard's mind. Still, it does mean she's unnecessary. Virmire Survivor is the best.

I've started playing Mass Effect 3 again and it feels so good. Words can't describe how special this game is to me. I just love it so much...everything about it. I'm happy seeing Kaidan again and I am enjoying the progress of the romance and falling in love with him all over again. So far I've met Kelly and Jack again and got Garrus back. They really do feel like a little family at this point and it just makes me so much more excited for the Citadel DLC again! Part of me wants to do the Steve romance because I love him and want to experience it myself...but I know I won't because Kaidan is just too good. This game is amazing.

Lol. So many truth bombs! Must find cover! Oh lord the drama I could start with this. People are entitled to their opinions but to claim it is one of the best games of 2017 shows they didn't play anything else this year.
