There didn't seem to be a thread for this and the MEA thread has too much of a mish mash of whatever anyone thinks about. So, this thread is here, though I don't know how much it will be used.

Since I only ever played ME3 with Citadel dlc installed, I had a different take on the nightmares. When we see that person who looks just like Shepard at the end of the last scene, I always assumed that was the clone. The clone did die, after all, so it was a logical conclusion. It's just that it was [based on base game] the wrong one. That's meant to be the real Shepard, which is probably a big reason why so many people drew the conclusion that Shepard was meant to die in the end. Sure, you had options, but Shepard was meant to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good.
Aside from the fact that I adore the Citadel dlc (even if its tone is drastically different from the rest of the game), I like the idea that we see the clone in the nightmare. It shows that the clone was a real loss to Shepard (I know it's at odds with kicking him to make him drop, but I tend toward Paragon), as much as anyone else. If you played a Colonist Shepard, it can feel even worse, since Shepard had watched everyone he knew die at the hands of batarian slavers. This could have been a chance to build a family - even if cloning was behind it - but then it's lost. Anyway, I love seeing what I will probably always view as the clone in the nightmare.

THeir will be some appreciation weeks for the MET! Kaidan Week? Seems a bit tame since there's traditionally been, I kid you not, Kaidan Porn Week. Luciano Costa is even aware of it and doubtless has seen the very lurid art and fanfic that is out there.

So...I was watching some reviews on the original trilogy and I was hit with such a strong sense of nostalgia. I miss these games so much...I miss Kaidan. It will be a while before I have a chance to experience it all over again later this year...but I am really looking forward to it. These three games mean so much to me and the third is still my favorite of all-time for so many reasons. There's really nothing quite like this experience and I don't know if there ever will be again. I'm just really happy that this is now a huge part of my life and that I was fortunate enough to experience them as I did.

I don't think anything is really going to seriously take me away from the OT until Cyberpunk 2077 comes out. I love scifi (cyberpunk included). It's why I had high hopes for MEA but was too let down by the poorly done m/m romances to be able to continue. The MET continues to hold my interest and I continue to romance Kaidan - now with mods for ME1, as well as ME3 to have TRUE continued Kaidan romance (rather than the continued-but-then-forgotten one the game partially acknowledges). I just makes the game even better for me.

Until we get another great space opera RPG, the original trilogy's going to have a place on my hard drive. I'm doing my first Kaidanmancer run right now; I'm taking my time with ME1, but I'm really looking forward to 3.

I know about the mod, but I only learned about it after I'd started my current playthrough, and I don't know if it'll cause savegame problems, so I'm a little hesitant to install it. Thank you for bringing it up though.

It really is too bad that Kaidan wasn't an option for you guys from the beginning. Mods to the rescue, again.
ME2 is still my favorite of the trilogy. So many good squadmates without the darkness that is all over ME3. My favorite part of ME3 was the Citadel dlc, because as campy and ridiculous as the clone thing was it was fun to play, and it made me laugh.

Thank you for bringing it up though. It doesn't. I find it worth it to bang Kaidan before Ilos. I'm also playing an unreleased mod for ME3 that's been blowing my mind. Designed for a continued romance should you have used the ME1 mod or *shudder* gender swap. The things I see mShenko say...stuff I just never knew was possible because BioWare kept it hidden from us. The best thing about it is that it's only unlocked files rather than new stuff. It's all fully voiced dialogue.

I gotta try this after my femShep x Liara run in the future, maybe he will finish the mod by then, cant wait!

Still wishing for a ps4 version of the trilogy with Bi Kaidan from the start of course. Probably won't get my wish, but I will play Mass Effect 3 again eventually at the least.

EA seem to be one of the few publishers not into making remasters of their back catalogue, which is weird considering how money hungry they usually are and how much money other publishers have made on their remasters. The ME Trilogy does pose an interesting challenge to remastering though. Do they remaster and release each game separately or release them all at the same time? Do they just upgrade the graphics & fix bugs or do they add things that were cut as well like Bi Kaidan? Do they do things like improve ME1s combat to help make all three games flow better together if they are released as a remastered trilogy? Honestly, I'd throw EA a huge amount of money for a ME Trilogy remaster & a DA2 remaster.

All I want is for them to upgrade the combat in 1. They could leave the rest of the series untouched if they do that.

I need bi Kaidan in Mass effect 1 or I just can't see myself spending money on the trilogy again. I'm that bitter about the homophobic Mass effect vibe at this point. But yeah it'd be nice to have better combat in ME1 as well.

The ME Trilogy is one of those games I replay on a regular bases, like FF7 or FF10. I'd love to be able to play it on my PS4 and finally retire my Xbox 360. I have been hoping Microsoft gives me a few game reasons to buy the XboxOneX so I'd at least have the backwards compatibility but so far it seems to be the 'most powerful console in the world' with nothing to play on it.
