This is the first I've heard about this game, so I don't know anything about it. I'm a bit confused with this wording in relation to some of the posts + art posted in this thread (asking for a Native American boyfriend, etc). Is this a new fantasy land, or is it supposed to be our own world, but just with magic and monsters added in? I think is a fantasy land but with a real world setting in colonialism times, but I could be wrong lol there's so little info about the game EDIT MORE INFO!!

Oh thank fuck, it's not an open world game. I'm really getting tired of open world games. I don't have the gaming stamina for them all. No open world, interesting premise, male & female protag & s/s romances? I'm sold. I'm hoping they make all their romances bi, not because I necessarily prefer it but because Spiders a small dev, so everyone being bi means that no one will get shafted when it comes to romance content. Also I need to romance a warrior woman and if making everyone bi is how I get to romance her then I will take it. YES! I'm so happy they aren't pursuing the open world trend as well! Technomancer handled its areas very well and I can only see them improving from there. Open world games can be fun when they are done well (Fallout New Vegas, Dead Island) but they just don't need to be in every game. Even if we only have one option, I don't think they'd treat their same sex options poorly, judging from how well they handled Andrew's romance in Technomancer. He wasn't the "lesser" option when compared to the females, and the story supports his romance path. They had a female in Technomancer that would fit that description! I think you would've liked her!  Well, definitely hoping we can learn more about the companions before release! If they have another awesome female warrior, then hopefully she is available for women! Davrin's boobs AAAAHHHH YES!!!! Maybe I will get a ruggedly handsome mercenary or a hot, scruffy sailor! Oh, the endless possibilities! Can't wait for more info on this game.  |

I bet it will feel like Dishonored, based on real life stuff from the past but with visible fantasy elements throughout it. Those factions sound coool. Might try to support scientists or natives. |

Then resurrect to play the game, then die again  Seems like Spiders is really trying to tap into the more story focused RPG fan but without going all old school isometric like Obsidian. I really like what I see so far. A couple of decent gameplay videos and some info on how it controls and I'll probably pre order. |

Haha, give that colonist some stubble/beard and I would...  phantomrachie Totally in the same boat. All the KISA guys I pine for are always straight.  I want to believe they'll do better though! At the very least from the info we have, it seems like each companion will be pretty relevant to the story for their faction!

Guys I dont like one thing though, there's only a native faction, that means that every character except the native one is gonna be white, I would like it more for more native american companions, because it doesnt matter if the character is from mercenary faction, or sailors, or religious... they are still colonists... I'm super against of colonialism lol I hope those characters are not a pain in my ass when I kill many many colonists  They had a female in Technomancer that would fit that description! Davrin's boobs an initial trailer like this doesn't necessarily have companions in it so I wouldn't base any assumption on it. They could be leaders in their faction or named NPCs and their fight in the trailer symbolises the tension between the factions. And I don't necessarily think the other factions are automatically going to be white. If they go the Bioware or Bethesda route then pocs could be amuge the colonists cos its not colour that is the big deal but race (or in this case faction) I super hope all the other factions aren't just white guys.

Davrin's boobs the description you posted said the colonists are from 'several distinct nations', so there may be coloured people across the factions. It seems like quite a specific and deliberate way they wrote that, so don't worry too much.

That is true, Bioware tends to do m/m companions non-whites, it's like they throw their diversity bag in one place. I think we talked about this in other thread but I dont remember when or how lol Zevran, Fenris, Dorian, Gil, Reyes, Steve are all dark skinned and IB or Jaal are purple lol the only exceptions are Anders and Kaidan, one from a game with all bi approach and the other one with a tailored romance for women in mind. I'm not counting Sky for obvious reasons, I hope we have an east-asian companion in DA4. John Rolfe is bae too I'm going to try to keep my expectations low for a native american though, I only ask the m/m option is not from the religious faction, sorry but I'm atheist as fuck and my character if they let you, is going to be it as well XD |
