Do we have any idea of what the combat and gameplay is going to be like? with the things I've read something like Technomancer, skill tree and all that. I hope they show some gameplay soon but I doubt it tbh well 2018 is the release date so, it'll be awhile before there is a gameplay trailer. Do we have any idea of what the combat and gameplay is going to be like? I imagine like Technomancer with some improvements, and you have a story mode this time round, for those that struggled with Technomancer or just want to experience the narrative more than anything else. It would have to be greatly improved. I prefer 3rd person combat but from some videos and reviews I've watched, the combat in Technomancer seemed a bit crap, with a truly terrible camera. The Spiders have done a variety of different types of combat & gameplay though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's not as close to Technomancer as you think. Mars: War Logs had quite a different vibe then Technomancer (which is technically the sequel) and their Sherlock Holmes games are of course different again. I did play a bit of Bound by Flame (which was rubbish) and it did have similar combat & leveling system to what I've seen of Technomancer, so this might be them developing their own Spiders Style of gameplay like Bioware or Bethesda but two games isn't enough to form a trend yet.

Religious = Mage-type Mercenaries = Warrior-type? Sailors = Rogue-type? Scientists = this I dont know, maybe some cyberpunk tech powers? Merchants?????? have no idea lol I'm pretty sure multi-spec can (and will) be achievable and merchant skill tree will serve as some sort of "diplomacy" tree. more convo options, some sort of discounts when trading. if this is the case, scientist skill tree can be the "crafting" tree, so warrior-rogue-mage and 2 supporting trees. don't think they will affect the story much.

Reading those interviews was an interesting insight. I like the thought of being able to be diplomatic with combat more as a last resort - though I wonder how much the game will take into consideration of who you have with you. I already hated having to metagame who I brought with me in DA2 just so I didn't piss Fenris off all the time. Though if I find favourites, I'll likely bring them with me everywhere no matter what npcs think.

Oh yes!!!! This makes a lot of more sense and I like it more!!!!!! It seems diplomacy will have importance to treat the different factions, so maybe something like Coercion from DAO or Charm/Intimidate from ME

This makes sense. Merchant and Scientist sound like prime trees for crafting and diplomacy. Since the skill trees seem linked to factions I wonder if each tree will also provide bonuses to interactions with that faction. Like knowledge checks or aiding diplomatic efforts. Lucky you. XD Eventually I stopped taking him out with me after I developed my perfect companion trio and just used the console for his approval, mostly so he doesn't end up the way he did the first time I played DA2. >_>

This was annoying for me because I like the rivalry path for every LI better (except Sebastian but I dont care about him lol), with Isabela was easy and god do I love make her a better person with the rivalry path BUT Fenris and Anders were with me almost all of the time, and trying to displease both of them at the same time was a godly work, I metagame a lot

But yes, the metagaming influence could be pretty tedious. Though Sebastian was always pretty easy to annoy.

"allying" system is unlikely purely because players who will side with natives will be locked out of all additional skills. but eeeh, dunno. they can design it in tons of ways, tbh. there is no standard in the industry.

I was thinking more like the Inquisition perks in that opened up additional conversation options in DA:I. Something that can be accessed once you've put points into a certain tree or have a certain reputation with a faction. These conversation options wouldn't be necessary for completing quests but would make it easier to get information or get you different reward or outcome.

...Are you guys trash talking my husband Sebastian? ...Right in front of my salad? I really loved the combat system they had for Technomancer so I wouldn't mind that being used and improved upon for this release, if it fits the game of course! It was a lot of fun for me. The Technomancer had talents that helped solved quests in different ways either by putting your skills to use, or by being charismatic. I can definitely see that type of system also being used and again improved.

When I look to Bioware it's really nice to have at least one company who communicated with the fans. oh and I'm outing myself - > I am the only one who voted for the female native.

I wanna romance the woman from the trailer. She looks creepy. But also like someone who can fun. Fun is always good.

I wanna romance the woman from the trailer. She looks creepy. But also like someone who can fun. Fun is always good. She (and i guess other natives) look a bit non human, like they're merging with nature. Does she have horns or is that just a headdress? Can't quite tell. Also i saw a douchy comment on the trailer along the lines of "So i get to hunt furries in this game. Awesome."
