At least it was a linear SP game that won that award, so okay.

Did Horizon won something at least? Nope BotW won in all the categories that they were both nominated for.

I thought Anthem would show something seems as Casey's there... I thought it might show up but I wasn't really expecting it. And I don't really care about Anthem past what it means for Bioware's future (and I'm annoyed it contributed to killing ME:A and delaying DA4 ). It still makes me sad that things went the way they did with MEA. So am I

Horizon Zero Dawn was robbed. I like Breath of the Wild-but it's not on HZD's level by any stretch of the imagination. I knew the nintendo fans would outvote them though-zelda fans are more devoted than most religious people.

My reaction is basically this: and this: Last year, at least there were a couple of trailers for things I wanted to play the next year. Not this time. It doesn't help that I played barely any 2017-games, so the actual awards part of the awards wasn't all that interesting for me, nor did I have much enthusiasm or investment in them. Come to think of it, I think the only nomination I saw from a game I played was Prey for Best Action Game... Which is an odd description anyway. Not necessarily a bad year, but not one for me. Oh, Dragon Age, when will ye return to us?

There are a few moments that I quite like from the show: - That semi drunk dude that just kept talking. - Melina winning the best performance - The final orchestra (esp from HZD and Mario Odyssey) - D2 not winning anything - And of course my favorite moment is Faker winning the best e-sport player. He's one great example of putting dedication and hard work into his consistent high-level performance while still maintaining humble and positive attitude, even in the end his team ended up the 2nd place at the championship. Some of his moves in game are simply mind-blowing. But other that these, it feels like it is mainly an avenue for advertisement.

Watching nazis explode into particles is the most damn satisfying thing I have ever felt. I wish I could do this in real life.

I didn't watch the awards, but saw this elsewhere. Not going back through the thread's 16 pages... Was Bethesda's message about SP games and gamers already discussed? I dunno what I feel about that. On the one hand, I think it's an important message. On the other, the whole mocking tone is just gross; I don't find it cute or funny in the least. It doesn't help that they're shilling their own games in the process instead of presenting the general message of "We know that the SP experience is a valuable one and we will continue to make SP games."

Plus i don't think they have room to speak since the move away from single player is meant to push microtransactions and continued greedy monetization, and oh will you look at that? They did that shit with two of their single player games (and lets not mention the continued monetization of Skyrim with constant rereleases while not fixing old bugs). I haven't forgotten about creation club Bethesda. Shut up. It's a PR move clearly, wanna win people back after creation club. And those "burns" of microtransactions by people at points in the show, they're not very genuine to me since they ran ads for Battlefront 2. If they truly cared they wouldn't endorse that mess.

I definitely came off as smug... especially considering they didn't actually show anything this year AND the whole point of the skit was to advertise a sale on their games sooo... trying to make money under the guise of standing up for SP games? I love Lynda Carter though. Kind of wish they hadn't dragged her into it so she wouldn't get tainted with their smarmy dialogue.

I didn't see the whole thing, because time zones, but there are a few trailers I liked. - Witchfire, because they created the Vanishing of Ethan Carter, and that's plenty incentive - In the Valley of Gods, because they created Firewatch, and also maybe black lesbian couple (?) - Metro Exodus, because no amount of forced and flat straight nonsense will stop me from getting my post-apocalyptic horror fix - Death Stranding looks incredible, and the Junji Ito influence is welcome, but it's a PS4 exclusive, so it will join my "why." corner together with the Last of Us. Also I need to play Hellblade and Edith Finch already. THQ Nordic, the same ones that made Elex. Nope. Piranha Bytes made Elex, THQ just published it. I can tell just by the screenshots that PB didn't touch this. The devs for this game are Black Forest Games. They've made some small titles. The more concerning thing is that they were partially created from the now defunct Spellbound Entertainment, and they were a very mediocre studio...
