Dear Owen: I finally headed toward Feros only to have Hackett send me on a mission to Eletania to recover the data module from a downed probe. It had been studying geth activity and you of all people know how important it is to know what they're doing. First thing I saw there was a "Prothean ruin" which looked like a giant reflective marble hanging over some round circular thing. Remember that "trinket" that asari whore gave you for helping her out with her other johns? Turns out it was a Prothean data recording module that had once been inside of a Cro-Magnon a very long time ago. Gave me a vision of what it recorded when I placed it inside a slot on the side of the marble. Really strange and I can't help but wonder that if an asari had it then they might be more connected to the Protheans than we ever realized. I mean, I know she told you someone gave it to her, but it's still weird.
Anyway the view was great on the planet but needs just a little bit of atmospheric terraforming to make it non-toxic to humans, though the space monkeys who stole the data module seemed able to breathe there just fine. Finally found it on a monkey inside of a mine. As soon as we got it we were attacked by a squadron of geth. They must have been responsible for downing the drone in the first place. Also, I didn't kill a single space monkey so you should be proud of me.
I do have to say that after your last letter I'm really curious about this promotion of yours. My mind is giving me all sorts of ideas. I know you're as good a marine as I am which means you'd make just as good of a "special operative" as myself. I'll leave it at that until we meet in person. Love, Faith.
(EDIT: Forgot to add this last night.)
P.S. There was some heavy flirting going on between me and Ashley Williams, as well as me and Kaidan Alenko. I honestly don't know which of them I'd want to be with, even supposing I broke the fraternization rules.

Dear Owen: Things were not good on Feros. The quick rundown was that the geth had attacked the colony of Zhu's Hope but we had no idea why. They were struggling with those attacks, as well as lack of food, water and power. I wasn't going to watch a human colony go down like Mindoir had so I helped them out.
This planet was once a Prothean colony and there was still a massive skyway around 50,000 years later. One thing about those Protheans is that they built to last, what with those beacons still functioning (even if poorly) all these centuries later. We had to cross it to get answers. Lot of geth in the way. Found ExoGeni scientists, the head of which was a colossal jerk. Got directions to their headquarters. Found more geth and that a giant, ancient plant underneath Zhu's Hope was using spores to mind control the colonists. It had to be stopped, both because it wasn't right to have these people controlled and because it was clearly what Saren was looking for.
I'll report back after I deal with the plant. Love, Faith.

All the shade, all the T! Unfortunately, nothing appears to me in the spoiler spot. EDIT: Wait, when I respond, I can see it under spoilers but not in the original post. How strange. I have noticed Free-for-All has some issues with spoilers that I don't notice on BSN.

Been listening to the MEA soundtrack the last couple of days, and it makes me want to play again.
Sigh. If only I could get paid to sit on my bum and play games all day, while someone else took care of all the cleaning and cooking.

OH well, at least it wasn't official content, as honestly, I think that dev team would have gone there if they weren't afraid of the backlash.

So I finished off Kadara finally and did Jaal's loyalty quest! That was fun! I adore the part where they bump heads or touch heads I guess. I also completed Elaadan which I usually don't do till after the next main mission-but I felt the need to get it over with now. I will probably do all the other loyalty quests (except for snubbing Peebee cause the dev's chose to make her story so disturbing). After I am done with those I'll finally go forward with finishing the next main quest and locking in with Jaal! I feel like I've been putting that off so I'd actually do all these side quests-as once I lock in the romance, things that are not the main quest feel much more boring for me. *edit to say I don't mean all the side quests as much as just all the important ones that are optional. lol!

Got a bit behind on reporting about Faith and Owen, so here's a letter from March 15:
Dear Owen: Went to ExoGeni HQ and found a not-so-dead Lizbeth Baynham picking off varren when the colonists at Zhu's Hope were afraid to form a hunting party to do the same thing! She told me getting away wasn't possible while the geth dropship was powering force fields all over. I'd have to deal with them first. We went in, killed a lot of geth (plus a few krogan) and found a way to send that dropship plummeting down to whatever constituted ground level. But I found some interesting things inside, including that ExoGeni has links to Cerberus. If you find yourself looking for new ways to eliminated Cerberus, he's one more connection. For the record, I'd say that Binary Helix is also connected, but don't quote me on that.
The other MAJOR thing here was this giant plant living underneath Zhu's Hope, called the Thorian. The Thorian could control minds through spores and ExoGeni was using the colonists of Zhu's Hope as test subjects. I confronted the lead scientist about what he was doing. He's heard of my reputation is was afraid it was all going to end in bloodshed. Which it could have had he not backed down since he was going to "purge" the colony at the behest of his bosses. That's the kind of thinking that got all our people on Mindoir killed and I wasn't going to allow it. The only problem was that the colonists were under the control of the Thorian and would attack when we tried to get to it. Someone came up with a nerve gas that was effective mostly on plants and would knock the colonists out. I was all for that.
Got through with no casualties (except the geth) and found a humongous plant that somehow had a face and a mouth. It shit out a green asari and sent it and other plant creatures to attack, but not before explaining that it wouldn't help me because Saren had betrayed it. Of course he had. I found a way to kill it which caused an actual blue asari to be released from a pod on the wall. This one, Shiala, had worked for Benezia. Long story short, she gave me something called the Prothean Cipher that would allow me, eventually, to understand what I'd learned from the beacon. Then she asked if she could help the people of Zhu's Hope and I figured if restitution isn't a good enough reason to allow someone to live than what is?
Back on the Normandy, Liara tried to mind meld with me. She said the message from the beacon was incomplete and that Saren must have found a second beacon that was intact. Be in touch when I know more. Love, Faith.
Dear Faith: Thanks for the info on ExoGeni. I'd love to take down those bastards but it might have to be a peace at a time. Good luck finding that second beacon. Love, Owen.

Later on March 15...
Dear Owen: I went to Chasca to investigate a colony in danger. All I found were husks and dragon's teeth, as well as links to Cerberus. They really are a shitty excuse for humanity.
Then I headed over to Nodacrux to look into a distress beacon. Found lots of those plant creatures, even though the Thorian was dead. Some ExoGeni scientist tried to bribe me into letting her go. When I wouldn't go for it, she set her second-rate mercs on me. Killed them and her.
Finally, went to Virmire, where the Council had suggested I might find some leads. AA guns were keeping the Normandy from landing and the geth were there in force, with lots of armatures and colossuses. I let you know how it all works out but clearly Saren is up to something here. Love, Faith.
[I've got more to report but later.]

Okay. I failed to mention earlier that I actually completed Cora's quest already, but yeah now I have all the loyalty quests completed (other than the smaller ones like those that are used to lock in romances)-other than MinusthaJelly. That took a long time to do them all, and I also went to a few planets to get the rest of the memory triggers. I have those all done before I can even complete the quest. Which again feels odd, but hey at least I have it done. I also enjoyed a nice bar fight with Drack, and now I've done everything I want to do before moving on to the next part of the main quest. The rest of the game will go by pretty quickly I think as I've done most of the main quests of true value (other than arguably the quest to talk to the traitor kett, and the one with the Salarian's that betrayed the Initiative). I may do that later-but I usually don't since they are kind of boring.

From March 16:
Dear Owen: So much to tell you about, brother. On Virmire, Captain Kirrahe of the STG explained how Saren had found a cure for the genophage and was breeding krogan at an accelerated rate - who would all be indoctrinated. We needed to blow up that facility. He also needed one of my people to go with him. I sent Ashley because Kaidan had the technical know-how to work on the bomb. I was a little leery of taking the archaeologist with me - if she'd been an ex-commando or something I'd have had no problem but she was a relatively young asari who'd spent half her life digging up Prothean bones. Still, she was a powerful biotic so that had to count for something.
Once we got to the facility, we were attacked by salarians who had become indoctrinated. An asari scientist working for Saren said that they were test subjects for indoctrination. It took weeks, or possibly even days, before the indoctrination took hold. In fact, I had no doubt this asari was also indoctrinated. Besides that, she willingly worked for Saren. I shot her.
That gave me access to Saren's lab. Inside, I found that second Prothean beacon Liara had theorized must exist. I accessed it but it didn't throw me for a loop. Still didn't quite understand what I was seeing. On the way out, a hologram of Saren's ship appeared to me and started talking. I soon understood that it was not merely a ship, but an actual Reaper. I learned some terrible things, like how they killed all advanced organic life in cycles and that they had created the Citadel and mass relays so that we were easier to find and could control our technology. Despite the bluster, I saw lies in its words. It claimed to have no beginning or end, which I could not believe. That meant it was afraid to let us know its origin because a weakness existed. I told it that since it was a machine I could break. The hologram caused a small explosion and then Joker informed me Sovereign the Reaper was heading my way.
We ran for the krogan breeding facility, disabling an AA gun along the way so Joker could land the Normandy and the bomb could be offloaded. While Kaidan went to work on it I got a call from Ashley. She was pinned down near the AA gun tower. Kaidan said he still needed to finish arming the bomb so I went off with Liara and a young private from the Normandy. Halfway there, Kaidan said he was under attack and was going to set off the bomb. Ash said to leave her, that she'd be fine, but it left me with a decision. Protocol said to save the highest ranking officer, but they were both my friends. That meant practicality. I needed to make sure the geth didn't stop the bomb from going off and so I went back to save Kaidan. Saren did show up at the bomb so I think I made the right call. We fought but an alarm distracted him. He fled and we took off in the Normandy. You could see the explosion from space.
Liara said she thought a mind meld could help me fill in the missing beacon gaps. I learned that it was a warning message about the Reapers that had come too late. Liara also recognized Ilos from the visions, a place that was accessible through the Mu Relay Saren and Benezia had been seeking. That had to be our destination. Returned to the Citadel to make my report, they didn't believe me and Udina locked down the Normandy to prevent me from going anyway. I called him a backstabber and stormed off.
Kaidan and I talked on the Normandy. We almost got to the point of kissing before Joker interrupted. Said Anderson wanted to see me on Flux. Went there and he said I needed to go to Ilos and that he had ideas about how that could happen. The decision was that he would use Udina's console and undo the lockdown. If Udina were there, he'd handle it.
More later, when I know what's happened. Love, Faith.

LATE last night, March 16/17: Dear Owen: I went back to the Normandy and waited. Sure enough, we got a green light and were off! Oddly enough, Admiral Hackett contacted me to ask me to deal with a group of biotic fanatics who had drugged a bunch of scientists and were using them as hostages. Either he hadn't heard the news that I'd stolen the Normandy or else he thought like Anderson and knew I had a job to do. I took care of the biotics and you'll be happy to know there were no casualties for the scientists. That out of the way, we headed toward Ilos. While en route, Kaidan visited me in my cabin. We did finally kiss and I asked him to stay the night with me. He did. Then we got near Ilos and got a lock on Saren's location. Landing was going to be a problem but Joker was amazing. He did the impossible of getting us down in the Mako. We had to chase down Saren. We saw stasis pods lining the Archives on Ilos but they were all powered down. The last of their once great race was gone. Continued on until we were stopped by a barrier but we were next to an elevator. (Yes, the lights and elevators were still functioning after 50,000 years.) It led to a Prothean VI that told us how the Conduit was a creation of the Protheans that led to the Citadel and a master control unit. Saren wanted to use it to take control of the Citadel. Why? Turns out the Citadel was a giant mass relay and that the keepers were used to prevent organic races from figuring that out. When a signal was given, they'd open the relay and the Reapers would return to destroy us all. The Protheans found a way to block the signal. Thus, when Sovereign showed up, they didn't open the relay as planned and Saren would have to do it. They also created a data file that would allow someone to temporarily hack the master control unit and take control of the Citadel. The VI gave it to me and sent me on my way. We fought to get to the Conduit which shot us through and sent us right to the Presidium. Not too surprisingly, the master control unit was on the Citadel Tower, right where the Council met. I interrupted Saren trying to take control but was able to talk rather than fight. I convinced him that he could help if he had the guts to do what needed to be done. He thanked me and blew his brains out. Then I used the data file and took control of the Citadel. I was presented with a very difficult situation. The Destiny Ascension, contained 10,000 asari and the Council, was under attack and its shield were fading fast. The Alliance fleet could save them. Or I could ignore them and send the fleet after Sovereign. What I'd come to realize was that if this galactic society had any hope of working we had to treat each other as the same. I couldn't do humanity first. We all had to count. I sent the fleet to save the Council. Then the remnant of Saren popped up, but it was only machine parts and had the voice of Sovereign speaking through it. We fought but it went down, which somehow destroyed the shields on the Reaper itself. Then the fleet swooped in and blew that monster to bits. In the aftermath, the Council was grateful, even Sparatus was behaving for once. The recognized that humanity was ready and willing to stand as protectors of the galaxy and offered us a seat on the Council. They said that my choice for Councilor would carry great weight with them. I chose Anderson. Udina questioned me but I knew Anderson would always do the right thing rather than lick someone's ass to look good. I hope this will trump anything I did on Torfan. Hard to say, because a lot of human lives were still lost, but saving the galaxy has to count for something. But it's not over, brother. The Reapers are still coming and we have to be ready. Love, Faith. Dear Faith: I'm so proud of you! I know you were angry for so many years over what happened on Mindoir but I'm glad to see you starting to change. I think that Alenko guy will be good for you. Just don't get caught! I hereby rename you the "Hero of the Galaxy". Wish I could be there but I'm off on my own top secret mission. Love you, Owen.

Intro to ME2 plus so 100% pure RP to get me to the next stage:
Dear Owen: This is going to be the last message you ever get from me. The Normandy came under attack from unknown forces and the ship is going down. Managed to get Kaidan, Joker and most of the crew to safety but wasn't able to get into an escape pod on my own. My suit is leaking oxygen and I'm heading toward the atmosphere of Alchera and that can't be good. I'm sending you all the data files from my omni-tool. Hope you can do something with them. Thanks for being the best brother a girl could ever ask for. If there's any kind of afterlife, I'll keep an eye on you from there. Love you forever, Faith.

Dear Faith: I know you won't get this, but I need to talk. The thing I couldn't tell you was that I was made a Spectre and they sent me after Cerberus. I've been undercover, trying to infiltrate them. It hasn't been easy.
I finally met Alenko and T'Soni at your funeral. It was a big thing. No one called you the Butcher of Torfan. They instead used words like "Hero" and "Savior". I always knew the real you and I'm glad it's being recognized by everyone.
Now I have to tell you a difficult thing. I was grieving pretty hard, and so was Kaidan. We had a...a fling. More than a one night but not by much. I'm sorry. Please don't hate me. Love, Owen.
Dear Faith: It's been a while since I last wrote. Things are getting complicated. I did meet up with Kaidan again and we tried to make something happen. It couldn't work with my undercover activities, especially since I couldn't tell him what I was doing. Also, to be honest, I was never quite sure if he was really looking at me or just remembering you.
I can tell you that I've gotten closer. There's some kind of plan that's been come up with that some believe will get me in the good graces of Cerberus. Makes me anxious because I don't want anyone to suffer for what I have to do. Love, Owen.
