I forgot that to make Bethany a Warden, I have to take her, Anders, AND Varric into the deep roads with my rogue Hawke. This is going to be a disaster.

I've been lacking here but I will say I got my Dorian romance going. "We need to talk" is the most amusing thing my Inquisitor can say to Dorian.

Blackwall is really breaking my heart. His story is just so sad. I got to the point where I could choose whether to commit to a relationship or break up. The scene got my heart racing and the way the entire scene was set-up really got to me. I felt so awful about choosing to end things, but I'm pursuing Cullen again. Blackwall's such a good guy and deserves a wonderful man woman to make him happy. I was so very tempted to just go through with the romance and felt like giving him a big hug and telling him it would be okay.
...WHY WON'T YOU LET ME LOVE YOU BLACKWALL?! ...Really wish he had been an option for men. If I'm feeling up for it, I might load back to the save I have for him and complete his romance by speeding through the game after I'm done with this one.
I've finally started making story progress and will work on Cullen's quest next before doing Here Lies The Abyss. Looking forward to getting his romance moving!

"Have you done something dumb again?"
Lol I've had Sebastian recruited for like three quests and I've already got his rivalry maxed out.
I've finished Anders, Isabela, and Bethany on friendship and Fenris on rivalry as well. Just have to finish Aveline's friendship and Varric/Merrill's rivalries. Then I can finally stop worrying about who I take where and when.

Really having fun with Inquisition again now that the story has moved along and I've made progress with the companions!
I was able to complete both Before The Dawn and Here Lies The Abyss. Even though Hawke's cameo wasn't handled perfectly...I am always happy to see him again and get a bit sad when he doesn't hang around Skyhold anymore, haha. It's fun adventuring with an old protagonist and I do love that Hawke and the Inquisitor get to officially meet outside of headcanon. I rushed through both Crestwood and The Western Approach because of limited time, but I am looking forward to clearing them out later!
I also made a difficult choice...Hawke stayed behind in the fade. I've never done that before, but I tried to look at it from my Inquisitor's perspective. He doesn't really know Hawke or Stroud at this point and Hawke did volunteer to stay behind...and with that, Stroud would also be able to organize the surviving Wardens after Clarel's mess. Also as much as I don't like how BioWare forces Varric onto Hawke as a best friend (my Hawke and Varric aren't friends), the scene with him was pretty sad looking at it from the "friends" perspective and I felt bad about leaving him behind. I still remember nearly crying the first time I heard the "Hakwe Family Theme" again in this game because of how much I loved both Hawke and Dragon Age 2...definitely missing Kirkwall and everyone there after adventuring with Hawke again. Sorry Inquisitor I love Hawke more.
The Cullen romance has been moving along smoothly as well after so long without any content thanks to the open world. I love him so much, but I still feel bad about leaving Blackwall like that!
I enjoy Inquisition most during the story bits...but I am definitely finding myself missing Dragon Age 2 and mostly Origins all the time. I'm about halfway through the game and I think I can finish it up in two weeks or less if I put the time into it.

So, Aria has mad it through almost all of the Western Approach and what she sees of the Wardens do not impress her so far? She can’t believe they’ve fallen in line with blood magic but more horrible to her, is sacrificing their own in blood magic rituals. How vehemently Arianna Hawke speaks against Blood Magic is definitely influencing her to think this is wrong, a terrible thing....
Which is Ironic since Arianna is very much a blood mage in my Dragon Age 2 save and every time she talks about Blood Magic Varric goes 👀👀👀👀 hypocrite.
But that’s his best friend so , his silence is paid for haha

To be fair my blood mages always give Merril shit for dealing with demons in DA2 cause of the friend points I get with Anders and Fenris. hahaha! So my Hawkes are kind of already hypocrites.

Hawke : ONLY THE WEAK RESORT TO BLOOD MAGIC Also Hawke: Uses Blood magic. To be fair my blood mages always give Merril shit for dealing with demons in DA2 cause of the friend points I get with Anders and Fenris. hahaha! So my Hawkes are kind of already hypocrites. Try to explain it with some RP view... Not exactly with hypocrisy. This was my blood mage Hawke's story with Justice and the sloth demon, and the reason to destroy the Altar of Dumat : Details of Ralph Hawke's diary: "In the Fade the first who we met a sloth demon. It offered a help if I let it possess Feynriel. A dirty deal, unacceptable, but I can exploit without a risk. Of course, I can, I tried and succeed not once to trick demons. Not a big thing. But Justice doesn't allow it, he can't see my intentions. Fuck, he attacked me! Foolish spirit! We forced to defend ourselves. Seems, Fenris too happy with killing Anders/Justice. We should talk about this… Anyway, this isn't our dream, so, I hope Anders' okay. Why do I feel so bad yet? Eh, I hate you, Justice! You won. I don't use that demon anymore, rather I try to save Feynriel without its help. So, I must lead Feynriel to the truth, but he must recognize that himself. Let's try!
Seems everyone's okay, aside from some embarrassment. Anders is condescending. I see he's well too, but disappointed. Let's go to calm him, I don't want to lose my chance with him for a stupid misunderstanding! I must explain to him, that this was a trick. I know, he hates blood magic, but that's not so terrible! Just a tool! In fact, a very useful one, and I'm so good at it. I won't give up it for you! Damn you, Anders, not I'm who possessed! (How I hate to apologize!)"
___
"Nearby we found the Altar of Dumat. An Old God, and the first Archdemon... Fenris and Anders warned me. But the Altar attracted me, I started the ritual. But one thing missed. I turned around and saw Anders's face. Stop it! Once I turned against him, in the Fade, because tricking that fucking demon was so important. Will not happen anymore! No more flirt with demons! (Okay, I will help Merrill, if she needs, because I promised... but after, no more! At least if he's there... eh, never say never...!) So, I defiled the altar, and I relieved. Everyone relieved. We left the altar."

Aria stopped the Magister at Adamant. Stroud stayed in the Fade and his sacrifice along with the wardens who fought against the blood mages to help convinced Aria that they were just mislead. They deserve better, so she allowed them to join the Inquisition.

I love Orlesians! I love Orlesian culture! I need an entire game set in Orlais! I completed Wicked Eyes And Wicked Hearts today. Staying in character I didn't bother with the court approval this time and came dangerously close to zero at one point! This actually led to a completely different outcome from what I normally got and I had to fight Florianne. I also decided to have both Briala and Gaspard executed this time instead of trying to reconcile Briala and Celene....I felt that would be something Renly would do because he hates nobility...and people. I got the dance with Cullen at the end this time and it was really sweet. ...I wish I could go to a masquerade! My high school's prom theme was "masquerade"...but masks weren't even allowed! My two "dates" put a lot of effort into making theirs so we were pretty disappointed when we were told much later no masks. ...Of course being a modern high school prom the music was awful modern stuff. ...At least the food was good and I got to "dance".
Blackwall is still breaking my heart. His story is just so sad and I really think he is one of the most interesting characters to come out of the series...and I think it's a shame most people hate him and don't give him a chance. The part where the romance was referenced in "Revelations" really got to me. I still think he should have been bisexual to give the full impact of his story to both men and women and I have to question just why such an important part of his character was locked to women exclusively when it didn't need to be that way. Really, really want the next KISA character to be gay or bisexual...

Well, just Act 3 and MotA left. Torn whether I want to do Inquisition next from a clean series run or finally romance Kaidan in ME1.

Well, things went nuts again personally, but I'll get into that in another thread.
I just started a new human named Kaliya. I'm extremely proud of how she turned out from preset 5. The name means both "time" and "death," which I thought fit a future assassin class.
I realized I haven't played a dual wielding rogue yet in DAI, so I'm fixing that. It's gonna take some getting used to, since my dps classes have all been ranged. I also accidentally made the wrong grip for her new daggers. Twice And my idiot self forgot to save. So I reloaded a save from 30 minutes before. Of course I couldn't get a single piece of leather to drop in the Haven area. Once my great dane puppy is mellowed out, I'm going to do one more circuit of the area before heading into the Chantry to trigger the next quest.

Animals in inquisition really don't like to drop their random loot sometimes. For example, I tried to harvest enough items from Wyvrens to make a Supreme Dragon Slaying rune...I spent 2 hours and got 1 gland. I never did that again.

This is my 8th or 9th run of the game since I bought it. 5 of my saves are on the PS4. It was just irritating going from a decent drop rate to nada. It didn't ultimately matter. I started with the wrong world state. I had made a state called "Crapsack Thedas" back in December, and had apparently loaded it into DAI. It had every downer choice in the series that I could make (including Hawke and Varric not being friends) and I was going to use it for a future playthrough. However, at that point I had literally done an Inquisitor every 10 days from start to finish. I made three of them to help cope with the initial stages of quitting drinking. So I put the game down, forgot about it...until I noticed the conversation with the Quartermaster at Haven. When she talked about Loghain being a Warden and the ruling Queen Anora (with no mention of Alistair), I knew something was wrong. I never make Alistair a drunk, except for that one horrid worldstate. I logged into the Keep and it confirmed what I suspected. I quickly changed it to another World State (where Loghain is a Warden and Anora/Alistair rule together) and had to restart. Hopefully my luck with leather drops is better when I get back to Haven. Again. Again again. Oh screw it, you know what I mean.

It's always a pain to have to restart becaue goes something went really wrong. I hope you have better luck too! oh, once you get to skyhold you'll have access to my favorite place to get leather at least. Snoufleurs in the Exhaulted plains drop so much leather for whatever reason. Even more there than in the dlc areas (where they seem to sometimes never drop leather oddly enough.)

Lee Edit: Well, I had literally just finished the initial Haven cutscene with the title screen. I hadn't talked to anyone yet, not even the blacksmith. I was about 90 mins in when I had to restart. So it wasn't a huge biggie. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain in the early areas. At least I do have the Stone Bear gear set and I have all of my spiffy crafting recipes ready to go. So if nothing else, I can make some decent daggers with good grips (I'm already in love with the dual-blade dagger) and save the rest of my mats until I get partway through the zone with the worst level pacing the Hinterlands.

Yes, the Hinterlands is just so painful. The major reason I hate it the most is because of how horrifically uneven the areas in it are. You have starting level areas to level 14 areas all mixed and matched together and if you go the wrong way you will have a bad time-and even if you know the areas that are safe to go-I'm constantly second guessing myself on what the most efficient order to go through the quests is to ensure maximum xp gain...which is pointless since there's plenty of xp in the game yet I still question it constantly.
