I decided to finally start playing Dragon Age Origins again, mainly thanks to nickclark89 and his awesome posts that made me nostalgic for it all, as well as Pillars Of Eternity 2 being delayed. Before jumping into it though, I went digging around for some mods. They were mainly mods to enhance the Alistair romance and one to change his appearance to give him blonder hair and blue eyes. It's going to take a bit to get used to seeing him this way and I am tempted to go back to his default, but I'm sure I'll love it and he's still gorgeous. There was also a mod to make him look like Sebastian from DA2 and I was tempted to try it out, but it required too many additional mods and I didn't want to mess with anymore mods at the moment. Will totally check it out later though! I am afraid though that the gay Alistair mod I have wont work because of everything I've added. It's still pretty far off before I can confirm it, but I am hoping it is active! I want to romance him this time instead of Rory. After that, I jumped right into the game as my canon Warden, Arthur Cousland. I decided to attempt to recreate him and make some minor adjustments. I originally based him off of King Arthur, with the main inspiration being the version presented in "Pendragon Rising". I play him as not wanting to be a Warden initially, only reluctantly accepting the role as time goes on. Naturally, I have Arthur flirt with Dairren and invite him to his chambers that night. Arthur has a lot of love for his family and this Origin totally breaks his heart. Jumping into Ostagar...I can't express just how much I love the opening of this game. It's all so beautifully designed and easily one of my favorite game openings. That amazing soundtrack playing in the background as you explore and listen to all the conversations between the NPCs...it all enhances the atmosphere so well and you can really feel the fear/sense of dread and desperation here. I remember seeing it all for the first time and how grand it all felt...it made me so excited to explore this world and get to know it all. I just love interacting with everything here. Heading into the Korcari Wilds...this is another area that they set-up so well. I also really love the atmosphere here...from the conversation you had with the soldier prior to entering about the dangers of the wilds to the soundtrack and landscape! Got all the quests done and met Morrigan and Flemeth. This is the version of Flemeth I love best. I like how she's presented as just an ordinary old woman living in the Wilds with her daughter and a guide for the Warden. I'm not a fan of her appearance in DA2 and DAI. It makes me miss the days of when we thought Flemeth was just some old witch and we didn't know her true identity, haha. I've always loved the transition to night at Ostagar with the change in the soundtrack, the joining following as well as that grand scene of the battle. It really does a great job at setting the atmosphere of the game and all that will follow. Ended the game tonight by being rescued by Flemeth and having her send us along with Morrigan to stop the blight. I'm really excited about heading to Lothering. It's one of my favorite portions of the game and I absolutely love the atmosphere there. This whole experience has been so nostalgic and really takes me back to my first time playing the game. Honestly if Mass Effect 3 didn't have mShenko and Alistair was canon bisexual, this would be my favorite game without a doubt. I'd love to have another game like Dragon Age Origins someday. It's such a shame they've moved away from their roots, Inquisition is hardly recognizable as part of the same franchise. I love isometric games, but I prefer full 3D where I can actually see my character interact with everything and everyone...maybe someday there will be another spiritual successor in the same vein as Origins. So here's hoping I get to gay bang Alistair soon! I made it to Ostagar with my human rogue. Got Alistair but needed a break. playing on pc still feels so odd to me, but I'm getting used to the controls slowly but surely. I think the next time I play Dragon Age Origins, it will be on my PS3 again. I do miss playing with a controller and it will also force me to play as a Dalish and romance Zevran again, haha. It will also be nice having an extra character slot for Leliana and Zevran. There are definitely many benefits to playing on PC though! I love being able to get a more tactical view of the battlefield as well as not having to use the radial wheel for all the abilities and spells. It'll get easier as you go along! Even though Inquisition has controller support on PC, I couldn't bring myself to use it as it felt very awkward after playing these games with keyboard and mouse for so long! I hope you enjoy the gay Alistair romance as well! He's just wonderful.

Origins was not optimized well for ps3 I feel. Cause it is not a great looking game even for a ps3 game. I am enjoying the Alistair romance, but I feel like it's not a significant difference from the female route so it feels a bit like a rerun sadly since I have romanced him so many times in the past. It's still exciting-but would have been better years ago-and without having to patch the game...BioWare stop making the KISA's straight!!!!

I was heading to the sleep but I want to welcome you to the Alistairmance party! Alistair is so precious, it would have been so groundbreaking if he was an option almost ten years later and we're still waiting for someone like him They were mainly mods to enhance the Alistair romance and one to change his appearance to give him blonder hair and blue eyes. It's going to take a bit to get used to seeing him this way and I am tempted to go back to his default, but I'm sure I'll love it and he's still gorgeous. haha not a fan of those mods but I changed Vilkas's appearance before starting the game for first time thanks to Arty so we are even XD Skyrim and their ugly facial male aesthetics I've only seen the true Vilkas from pics lol I'm sure if I would have gotten used to vanilla game Vilkas I wouldnt have changed him though, I did the same with Jenassa to turn her into a more fearsome assassin because her face is boring as many Skyrim npcs. Exactly, I mean besides some misgendering the romance is soooo gender-neutral, even when he wants to dump you because you cant have children screams gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to me lol when I found the mod the first time I played it was accidental, a blessing and a curse, maybe my Warden would be still alive but without the meaning he has to me.

Binch I have my new canon playthroughs of DA and ME started and waiting, my Technomancer character waiting, my POE character waiting and today I recreated my dragonborn (thank you showracemenu command) to install those animal friendly mods and play a new canon and improved run in the future... Adulting is not an option! xDD edit. it's a lie, adulting is mandatory and I'm gonna die lol

It's still exciting-but would have been better years ago-and without having to patch the game...BioWare stop making the KISA's straight!!!! I didn't mind the graphics on PS3! I think it adds to the "charm" of the game. It looks better than Inquisition on PS3 anyway. That game was definitely not meant for that console! Playing it on ultra settings on PC now, there's no way I could ever go back to that version! I was almost tempted to play as a female to romance Alistair on PS3, but I am glad I didn't and waited. It was a magical experience and really, really changed the game for me. Thanks to the Warden having no voice and the romance being pretty gender neutral, it flowed so naturally and felt like that was the way the game was meant to be played, with Alistair being available to both genders...but of course we "aren't worth the resources" so he had to be straight. I was going to base my female character on Gabrielle from "Xena Warrior Princess" so I'm a bit sad I never got to do it. I was heading to the sleep but I want to welcome you to the Alistairmance party! To be fair he does get blonder in later games and both his parents have colored eyes so he wouldn't have brown eyes anyway. ...I think you'd die if you saw what I did to the Dragon Age 2 companions, haha. I'm going to let them go back to their default appearances this time though, because it is strange seeing them completely redesigned. Wow, Vilkas looks so handsome there! I do love his normal appearance as well though...but I totally had the hots for his brother and married him instead. I'm totally in the mood for Skyrim as well! I played 100 hours and never even touched the main story, haha. I don't think my canon is going to have a werewolf husband though! As far as a gay KISA goes...if we still don't get one in DA4 which will have been a decade after Origins was released...then that will say a lot about the biases the writers have and how they constantly refuse to see that these KISAs and Prince Charming characters can be gay. It's still ridiculous that all three KISA characters in DAI were straight, with one having gay content cut while the gay options were the same old stereotypes. I totally envy that women got Josephine because she is just so sweet! So yeah...we'll see. We've waited a decade and if we don't get one in DA4, I'm going to assume they'll never give us one. I'll accept a bisexual knight/prince (as long as they don't leave you because you are a man), but I'd prefer having him be strictly for men... and a blonde/ginger because I'm shallow and want my own lol. B-)
Anyway...I'm off to complete Lothering today and move the Alistair romance along!

Andrew Mancer it's funny you wanted to base your female warden on Gabby because I have said many times the romance of my Warden and Alistair (the one I have in my head lol) is very akin to the romance of Gabby and Xena. They meet eachother, become friends, travel together, fighting bad ones, living adventures and then... THE LOVE THE PUREST LUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVVVVVVV I don't think my canon is going to have a werewolf husband though! if they dont give us a KISA in DA4 I'm gonna curse in spanish all Bioware I swear

Andrew Mancer What did you with the characters in DA2? I loved their appearance! ... Okay, Fenris is weird, with his bare foot, he even not a Dalish... I have only three addons: Anders automatic romance armor – he got a pyjama, like Hawke's, I hated he still in his coat at HOME!, repeatable romance scene, and Zevran's romance dialogue fix... Now I really feel, Anders and Hawke live together! And I love this!

Got a bit more done today! I managed to complete Lothering. I still think this area was handled very well as far as setting up the desperation and fear people were going through during the blight and showing just how dire the situation was. Also I absolutely love the soundtrack that plays in Lothering, it's just so beautiful. I can also say the same about the Chantries in this game. I love the design and that song playing in the background. It really does feel like a place of worship and where people would go to seek refuge/comfort/blessings. It didn't feel that way in DA2 and DAI unfortunately. I still remember being absolutely in love with the way Leliana was introduced - a seemingly sweet Chantry sister stepping in to help you out in battle and then offering to join you. I couldn't resist her charm and I really missed her so I decided to swap out Roland for Leliana. It's handy having a rogue in the party again. Also that tavern music - love it! I noticed that there was also a male bard there and it kind of makes me want to see a male bard singing songs in DA4. Got all the quests in the area done, including having Sten join the party. Afterwards I stopped at the party camp for the first time and took the time to talk to everyone, taking all the dialogue options available at the time. I love these moments best - just talking by the campfire with your companions as the beautiful song plays in the background. Decided to help out Levi Dryden next, as that's how I've always done it. It was a bit more challenging than I remembered, but I managed to get through. Killed Sophia and told Avernus he could continue his research ethically. It was actually (surprisingly) snowing today, so it felt quite fitting going through a snowy environment. Levi was actually one of my first Dragon Age crushes, he's so cute! Still enjoy helping him out and pretending my Warden shamelessly flirts with him, haha. With all that done, I tried testing out the Alistair romance to make sure the mod was working. Thankfully it is and I'm looking forward to going through it all again. I'd love to play more, but there just isn't enough time in the day! Hehe that "adulting side quest" is definitely tedious. Andrew Mancer it's funny you wanted to base your female warden on Gabby because I have said many times the romance of my Warden and Alistair (the one I have in my head lol) is very akin to the romance of Gabby and Xena. THE LOVE THE PUREST LUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVVVVVVV I don't think my canon is going to have a werewolf husband though! if they dont give us a KISA in DA4 I'm gonna curse in spanish all Bioware I swear AAAWWWW when you put put it that way!!!! I gave my Warden happy endings, but I really, really love the way you've described your Warden's relationship with Alistair. I also wanted to do another female Warden based on Xena once upon a time. Really though, Xena and Gabrielle are the greatest. Hehe I love my werewolf husband and considered making Farkas my canon husband in Skyrim...but I got some ideas in my head and I was totally crushing on Hadvar. ...But honestly that probably won't stop me from marrying him since my canon guy isn't an actual option! ...Now I want to go back to Skyrim... And I love this!
...You don't want to know. Some were clothing mods and others were hair mods...but it really makes a difference! I really like the Aveline mod I'm using that removes her headband and the Isabela mod I have that makes her look more like she did in Origins. But yeah...back to the default for me next time! I also use the Anders and romance mods as well. They're great!

Didn't have as much time to play today, but I managed to make some progress! Headed straight towards Redcliffe by Alistair's suggestion only to have him stop me upon arriving to make a confession. I used this as an opportunity to let him know that him being royalty was pretty hot and that I was lucky to be with him! The flirting beings and he is showing interest! As for the town of Redcliffe itself...I know I've said this already for Lothering and Ostagar and I will probably continue to say this for a lot of Origins, but...the atmosphere of this area is once again perfect. It really does feel like an "end of the world" scenario and I love listening to the NPCs and conversing with them. I forgot to mention this with Lothering, but as it is also done here...I got myself some nice gaming headphones and can hear the audio quite clearly. I love that they actually added some crying sounds to the background noises to enhanced the atmosphere, it works wonders for immersion. Also love the ominous soundtrack playing ion the Chantry and the village itself. The town itself is also quite beautiful. Inquisition's take on Redcliffe pales in comparison...it is empty, dead, and forgettable and so generic that nothing makes it memorable and it completely fails at portraying the "desperation" of Inquistion's story. How is it that they could do so poorly at recreating the magic they had here? As a side note, I love getting blessings from the Revered Mothers in this game. I liked that in Lothering's Chantry everyone would kneel down (even Morrigan!) and pray. I also really miss these Chantry robes. The new canon appearance in Inquisition is so...bland and boring. I wish BioWare could capture this atmosphere/feeling again in another game someday... Anyway, I spoke to the mayor to get quests started and managed to convince the blacksmith, dwarf, tavern owner, and the shady elf to join the battle...so Bella could take ownership of the tavern! Free drinks for everyone! Then I went to speak with Ser Perth and helped him get some "holy protection" for his knights. Confession time! I have no idea why...but I was quite drawn to and attracted to Ser Perth when I first played Origins. That attraction never left so when I first played Dragon Age Origins on PC and wrote stories for my character (some in the form of a diary)...I wrote my character as sharing an "intimate moment" in the tavern with him after saving Redcliffe. Writing this actually gave me "butterflies" and I decided to take it further and have them develop a loving relationship...I ended up writing an entire story about ten chapters long where the two reunite after the blight and get married. It became one of my Arthur's three "canon" endings, because I couldn't just choose one for him! I've never actually had the courage to share them with anyone, but if anyone would be interested I might be willing to share a bit of this, haha. It was my early attempt at developing a character through fan fiction, so it's probably pretty bad to anyone that isn't me, haha. Anyway...after that is where things went a bit poorly! For some reason the battle for Redcliffe was much more difficult than I had remembered. I had no trouble protecting everyone at the top of the hill...but going into the heart of the city is where the trouble started. It really annoyed me that the battle was already going on by the time I got there, with Murdock nearly dead. I tried and tired and tired but couldn't keep him alive. It seemed like no matter how many I killed (and I killed a lot)...it just wouldn't end. I very nearly kept him alive one time, but he got killed anyway. Being short on time for today...I did something I never ever did before...I changed the difficulty to easy...but even that didn't help and I still lost Murdock...ugh...this is the first time since I first played Origins that not everyone has survived. On the bright side? He and Lloyd were the only casualties and Bella owns the tavern...but I hate that I missed out on the shield because of it... I think my mistake was not getting some quests done in Denerim to level up a bit before visiting Redcliffe...at least I think that's how I've always done it. Anyway...despite that I still think this level is very well designed and still continues to hold onto that desperate/hopeless atmosphere/feeling the game has held since the battle of Ostagar. I'm still looking forward to continuing this journey and romancing Alistair again.

^ You know that you could use Morrigan/other mage to heal poor Murdock, it helped me a lot, so I could have everyone alive There are other places like this where sometimes NPC could die, but my mages helps, but I must do so manually as they will not do it on their own.

More progress today! I managed to complete Redcliffe castle! I was able to get through it without the help of Ser Perth and his knights, so they are all still alive thankfully! While in the castle's basement, Alistair took a moment to speak with me about his long-lost sister and was hoping we could stop by Denerim to see her sometime to warn her about the blight. Naturally I agreed. The first time I played through Dragon Age Origins I accidentally clicked on Alistair and initiated this conversation there, so now I feel the need to have it play out this way every time! Anyway, I allowed Jowan out of his cell on the terms that he help out in whatever way he could...but I turned down his suggestion of using blood magic to save Connor. Following on another lead, decided to take the party to the Circle Of Magi at Lake Calenhad to recruit the mages and save Connor without sacrificing anyone. Before that though, I stopped at the party camp to speak with Alistair. I teased him about his virginity and flirted with him, haha. He now cares for me and I have the option to kiss him, but I want to take it slowly this time and have him make the first move! Talked about other things as well with him and he joked about the classiness of two men bonding on the road adventuring together, haha. Anyway, moving onto Lake Calenhad...this is yet another beautiful area in the game. I love that song playing in the background with the tower visible in the distance. I also really love the addition of the praying Templar after completing Broken Circle. Carroll is so adorable. I convinced to take me across by saying his superiors wouldn't be happy if he denied me access to the tower, but I do love his reactions to Leliana/Morrigan/Sten. Poor guy deserved better than what he got in Inquisition! Upon entering the circle I insisted that we help the mages trapped inside instead of just killing everyone as that would be inhumane. Found Wynne inside and was happy to have her along, much to Morrigan's displeasure. I still remember how pleasantly surprised I was when I first encountered Wynne. I wasn't expecting an older woman as a party member and I loved having a "grandmother" in the group to share her wisdom and guide the Warden. Getting through the Circle was a breeze, but today's adventure had to end with the sloth demon's attack. Looking forward to exploring the Fade tomorrow! I'm also really torn on whether I want to keep Morrigan or Wynne after this quest. I've only permanently swapped out Morrigan for Wynne once. I just love her too much! Morrigan is too plot-important but I'd love to see Wynne's interactions with the rest of the game again as well. ^ You know that you could use Morrigan/other mage to heal poor Murdock, it helped me a lot, so I could have everyone alive There are other places like this where sometimes NPC could die, but my mages helps, but I must do so manually as they will not do it on their own. Unfortunately I had no healing magic at that point in the game, but I never needed it before. Poor Murdock never had a chance this game. I'm going to turn Morrigan into a spirit healer first chance I get though! ^ You know that you could use Morrigan/other mage to heal poor Murdock, it helped me a lot, so I could have everyone alive There are other places like this where sometimes NPC could die, but my mages helps, but I must do so manually as they will not do it on their own. Haha sounds good to me! I know my Arthur would love to flirt with all those "straight" guys...or take things further in Cammen's case. I've only seen one sex scene with Ser Gilmore, but that's probably because I'm not installing the mods properly! I think it's the vanilla scene that I've seen. I have installed a few more mods and with take his friends with benefits route this time, so we'll see if I get one of the "spicy" scenes this time, haha. May I ask for the specific one you are using?

No problem: For ser Gilmore mod: www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1594?tab=description and www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1042?tab=description just be sure to select correct gender options from the mod files, like m/m for example Bi Overhaul mod: www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4659?tab=descriptionReading the description helps especially with mods compatibility issues, good luck!

Found this mod and I'm gonna install it right now! LOOK THE CUTENESSedit. The mod is AWESOME!!! I presume this is was made of the party banter my memory is shit but I think I remember some. There's misgendering I dont know if the bi overhaul mod fixed this or not, I remember one banter that acknowledged as man so there's that, I think that was the only romance-related banter I got tho edit2. OK BINCHES I saw a new scene where Alistair looks to the Warden's hips and Wynne and he refer to me as man!!! edit3. The misgendering only happens with a scene between Wynne and Alistair where he asks her guidance and he says "pretends to be a woman" lol I suppose it's hard to mod that I guess
