My wishlist is quite simples, I want Mae as a bi romance or a KISA and just a really interesting story with humor in Tevinter, also lots of politics and art please! I almost forgot about Mae. If she doesn't show up in the game I will be madly disappointed. They teased her in the comics, in the wartable missions AND Dorian mentioned her, please Bioware... Having her as a LI would be so cool as well. Also like.. I remember some people being disappointed that Krem as a trans person wasn't voiced by an actual trans person. But in MEA we have Jien Garson, who was voiced by Jamie Clayton and she is openly trans, so I'm having high hopes for DA4, if they include Mae. Don't know if this was mentioned before - it's a really minor thing - but I hope the tarot cards come back too. They looked freaking amazing and I think they were received extremly well. I have never seen something like that inspire so much fanart even beyond the DA franchise. Ah, I had heard there was a trans actor in MEA, but didn't know which character. Thanks! I would be very surprised if Maevaris isn't included in some capacity. I would like her to be a romance as well (I've written about it in the DA4 thread). I'm not normally into romancing women, but I think I'd make an exception for her; she seems pretty great from the little bits that we know. I've gotten the feeling that she is sort of big-sisterly to him, so I'd really like to see their relationship. Oh Maker, if there is banter or teasing from Dorian about her being in love I think I would just die.

I was so disappointed that Jien was dead, what a wasted opportunity but than again with all the shitty LGBT+ rep I doubt they would done anything good. The art of DA:I was amazing, I love every bit of it. That is why I want something similar or with other styles to return next game. Maybe some short of roman/byzantine art.

This will probably never happen, but you know who I'd like to see in DA4? Merrill. I'd love to get her reaction to all this shit with Solas, lol. On the one hand, Fen'Harel has a terrible reputation with the Dalish and she's as leery of him as anyone, if I remember right. At the same time she's also obsessed with reclaiming some of the elves lost glory and history and we saw what she was willing to do in DA2 in order to achieve that.
I doubt she'd pop up as anything more than a cameo and to be honest I don't know what her reasoning for being in Tevinter would be (unless she flat out joins up with Solas or something, lol, but I don't see that happening), but it'd still be neat to see her.

It's interesting that you see Tevinter as dark and gloomy. I never pictured it that way. I see it more like Ancient Rome. How else does everyone see Tevinter? Well, when I say dark and gloomy, I just mean the vibe I get. I also see it like Ancient Rome. I guess it's just the concept art from World of Thedas of Tevinter fashion as well as their architecture that gives me that impression. I don't want Tevinter to be an entire society of moustache-twirling villains, but at the same time, their society and their buildings were built from the sweat, tears, and (literal) blood of their elven slaves. I mean, just look at Kirkwall and all the darkness that had literally seeped into the city itself. I feel like Tevinter proper should be like that too. So much blood magic. So much suffering. It's got to have affected the area, and I'd like to see that reflected in some way. Also, speaking of World of Thedas (vol 1), there is a passage, I believe, that talks about magisters who have consumed so much lyrium for so many years, that they no longer look human. I'd love to see that in game.

I think Tevinter is very obviously modelled on Ancient Rome, so I'm guessing that's what we can expect. Now we'll just have to wait to see if it's going to be Rome at the height of its power or Rome ca. about the time the Western Empire was falling to pieces.
My wishlist, gameplay-wise:
1) Keep in the separate option to turn friendly fire off. I like playing on Nightmare, but I dislike friendly fire in Dragon Age, I don't think the interface and controls are precise enough to make it fun (for me at least), and I could never play Nightmare in DA2 because friendly fire was mandatory. It basically makes half of the mage spells a liability, and Maker help you if you actually leave your mages unattended for a second and forget to forbid them their AoE attacks.
2) Bring back healing magic. I don't know, I just like juggling cooldowns more than managing healing potions and barriers, and it feels weird lore-wise that healing magic clearly still exists but for some reason we have elected not to use it in a fight. Personal preference.
2) Blood magic! We're going to Tevinter, come on, I want some creepy fucking spells back, like walking bomb and blood slave and that sort of stuff. When I played DA2, Varric, standing next to my blood mage in the back lines, was basically my mage's personal health fountain, getting drained down to the last HP (the tanks in the front needed their health), then chug a potion and get sucked dry by Hawke again. It created this insanely weird gameplay-based relationship between them. Even though the companions (sadly) don't react, it was just great fun for roleplaying.

I see ancient Tevinter based on the Roman Empire at its height, unrivaled and extending as far as it ever will. Current Tevinter is more the Byzantine Empire or Eastern Roman Empire which retains the culture of the former incarnation of the empire but is gradually losing power and influence. This especially works if the Qunari are like the Ottoman Empire chipping away at its borders.

As much as it made sense in DA:I to just have healing potions, it robbed some of the dragon age-y atmosphare for me. I wish it was more like DA:o and DA2, were it made sense to be able to have both at the same time. 2) If they implement such a specialization, I hope it will affect your story somehow. Like, how your companions or other people see you, or if you maybe get access to a quest or don't get access to a quest because of it. Also, I really hope we will get to see and interact with Desire Demons again. Dorian mentioned a male desire demon, so I'd really like it to change appearance depending on your character. It could be simply a scene where the demon asks something like "What do you desire?" and then getting options like "Men, women, whatever, wealth, nothing, etc. etc.." , which the demon then tries to embody. Imshael was a fucking joke, he looked whack and he was weak as heck too, bye. It's just really unfortunate that the demons in DA:I were so freaking boring, even though they were pretty much the main focus.

Yeah, the fade rifts pulled in demons and spirits and made them crazy. But the entire Veil was weakened by the Breach so I think there should have been more opportunities of demons slipping into the world and being major parts of the story. We get hints of the weakened Veil with letters and notes from apostates in the Hinterlands, the apostate in the Fallow Mire. For a game all about a hole in the Veil there was a disappointing amount of demon involvement.

I love that special Game Over screen you get, if you die during the templar quest, so the demon possesses you. It would be cool fighting against a demon trying to possess you in DA4 again, it could create some cool psychological drama. In DA:I they were just... There. That one envy demon was the only one who actually felt intruiging imo. I so hoped there would be more of that, but no :/

I think it's funny to go templar then decide to disband them. It really pisses off a certain advisor, and pissing off characters is always fun.

I just not found a logical reason to follow them, when Ser Barris refused my Inquisitor's offer to join, and followed that dickhead... If anyone can say me a really logical reason to trust him without metaknowledge, I'm ready to go for them, and recruit them as servants and later disband them.

I have just a single time. I didn't finish that play. However, it is worth playing through the mission just once, to see it, and also how the Cole parts play out. It's the only time in the game that the player can experience Cole in that personal way.

I want elemental cone spells back...mine arrays were fun (mildly op) and close from gameplay perspective, but it just doesn't look as cool as shooting a burst of flames from your hands, you know? Also possibly Knight Enchanter who physically holds a sword in their hand (maybe with staff, or just with empty off-hand), instead of weird fade-y blade pulled out whenever you use it...or maybe let me have different attack mode for a staff when in melee
And almost forgot...I want longer than shoulder length hair (or at least some decent ponytails). And maybe more of the game happening in a city? Pretty please?

Hah, I've never chosen templars either (something about me always being a mage? We don't go well together, me and templars )

I've done one playthrough were I did this mission (then disbanded the Templars because they are too corrupted to fix) and this was the play though that got me to like Cole. Without doing this mission he is very mediocre but if you do it it really adds to him as a character. I'd like Arcane Warrior to make a comeback. I like the lore around it and its a really nice build for a Mage, particularly an Elven Mage because of the link with the lore.

He was an interesting character to roleplay. Vivienne loved him. But it was worth it to do the mission once. That bossfight on hard was honestly a fun challenge.

My heart lies with mages always and forever, but I admit that after my canon mage run, in DAI I go the templar route. After having done both, I think the templar storyline and quests are better. Make me feel dirty
