It's taken a bit of time, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of the skill tree revamp. It seems weird to have done this just for the sake of the DLC, though.
I will also add, I'm playing this run on a larger screen, which I appreciate quite a bit. Especially because it seems like the 2.0 version of the game shrank the size of the icon over objects you can pick up...

I’m finally playing this again, the story did pick up and got more interesting as expected after losing Jackie. Granted, it feels more like an fps interactive story with how much there is sequence after sequence during this. I will say though once again, it makes a lot of sense to me for Viktor, and now Takemura to be the actual romances in this game. They are both involved in your survival, it seems odd you can’t develop something more with them. I have yet to meet any of the actual romances in the game besides Judy, and at this point they don’t feel will be as important with how little presence they have so far.
In any case, I’m trying to just play through it as an action game rather than get my hopes on rpg romancing. I did start enjoying the shooting gameplay and the story got interesting enough. Not sure if I’ll get the dlc yet, is pretty expensive, will have to wait and see how I feel when it all ends or is close to.

I really don't care for how driving handles on the PS5. Like I've seen my bike actively defy physics as it moves in this version, in ways it never did in the PS4 - there was one point where the bike went flying, turning and twisting, and V didn't move a muscle. And there are plenty of points where it seems like the vehicle just won't go uphill for any reason. And I'm pretty sure it impacts even the NPC vehicles, cuz there are plenty of cases of there being cars stopped in the street for no reason.
All this has done has been to make me all the more firm in believing that they should have taken this entire mechanic out of the game, that it really is the biggest hurdle in terms of how the game plays - I have pretty firmly fallen on the side of "unless it's the primary point of the game, do not include driving mechanics in games" at this point.

That is one thing I had noticed about the game recently-the more they "improved" the car mechanics the worse the bikes drove. I haven't run into the hill issue though, but I also haven't played since the newest patch so that could be why. I'm still qq about the nerf to Netrunner. Once I get over that I'll begrudgingly play with smart guns I guess cause I suck at aiming guns, and melee is just too squishy early game. I've heard blades are really good now, but the violence with that is kind of a turn-off for me. Plus again...not crazy about being close to enemies.

I utterly hated driving in this game. I'm not great at driving in games as it is but something about this game made it worse. My first two V's stuck with motorcycles because I found it far easier. My third V was a Corpo who refused to drive anything but the fanciest of cars and it was sheer hell. I'm pretty sure I had to get a few mods to make driving suck less because the more they 'improved' things (and not just driving, I had to get mods to unnerf their dumb hacking or sniper nerfs because it was stupid) the worse the experience became.
I haven't played the game since they did their last big update of changing how things played. To be quite honest, them changing things so enemies scaled with you just put me completely off. What's the point of levelling up if you can't stomp enemies easily if you've focused your build enough to do so. Prior to that I did enjoy shotguns/mantis blades and of course hacking, though again, had to get a mod to revert the dumb hack through walls changes they made. It's a single player game where combat is often buggy, I don't know why they focused so hard on fixing things that was fun.

And they *shudder* added vehicle combat because people whinged it wasn’t in the game. Sounds like hell. Driving was awful.

Yeah driving in this game is wacked, the number of times I fallen off one of the ramps and stuff is crazy, literally all my deaths in this game have been driving XD. Also, River Ward literally runs over everyone during his mission every single time I ride with him and is hilarious. Only silver lining with driving is being able to see my character during motorcycles. The main combat I found it fine though, granted I chose all the easy difficulty stuff, but overall haven't had problems, granted I tend to try and stealth as much as I can, stealth can be a bit challenging the detection, especially when some enemies just disappear and appear still from some old bugs. But nothing has been like game breaking or made me rage at least. I think the only thing that annoys me design wise is some rooms are so dark to track where the hell am I going. But going back to story, I been getting pretty attached to my V, and is stressing me out the whole I'm dying bit XD because I love him. I think one of the big main key scenes that made me more attached to him was the scene with the Doll, in this case I chose Angel of course, the entire dialogue with Angel was really great, and the slow burn build up was touching, I was really disappointed the game forces you to cut the scene. They love to force sex scenes in the game (will rant about that below more XD) but can't have the choice to continue to take this one further if you want to just for a bit. So yeah, I got angry and just blasted through the mission and didn't stealth, alas. But overall, I'm quite happy with how we are able to define our V a fair bit, even if most choices don't mean much, at least I have control of his personality, I was worried going into this game I would just be playing someone I simply don't like but quite the contrary he's my new baby now. As for other chars, I think in general I have enjoyed most of the chars until I met Panam. What you all typed here in the past was all very right (I went back to read XD previous posts). Now, when it comes to that char devs love, like Liara, Peebee, Lana, while they have their annoying moments, they at least serve well the plot, and the issue is more that they are overused rather than bad characters per say. HOWEVER, in the case of Panam, I'm sorry but her whole story and the Aldecados just feels like the most uninteresting thing to me. Is not helped by the fact that the entirety of my dialogue with Panam in like every single one of her quests is "are you back with the clan, I thought you went back to the clan, what's wrong with going back to the clan, saul likes you why don't you like him", omg is so tedious there's literally nothing else to talk with her unless you decide to romance her I guess. But I enjoyed a lot the arcs of say Judy in comparison, although I find it odd, she has a romance option given how close she was to Evelyn and is so soon what happens to Evelyn. River Ward is nice enough, though the questline was a bit disturbing later with that freaky cartoon but that's not his fault XD. Would want to try his romance when I get a PC that can run it mod it since I can't change on console on the fly gender just for a quick try. Placide is a big boy with a sexy voice, he a baddie though, I can't see myself romancing him after what he did but I completely get the appeal to him haha. Thoughts on Kerry still pending cuz he is still not shown up for me besides the flashbacks, but +1 point for showing him in the flashback kissing a guy in the stairs. I also started a bit of Claire's quest and was surprised to see she was trans, surprised in the sense that is a good character so far! Also did that whole delamain quest and hell if I understand what the hell happened there, is an odd quest chain to give so early on But of course, the main man is.... Johnny Silverhand. I have a lot of mixed thoughts. On the positive side, I actually enjoy a lot how your relationship with him develops, I like the back and forth about our beliefs and such, when your feeling sick and you can just sit down and talk to him. I also like that he admits that the reason he does really want to help you is because he doesn't want to do what corps do to other people, take their life away. Unfortunately, Johnny in flashbacks is pretty insufferable, and sure that's the point, but as a player perspective of playing him during these, is just insufferable. This is made worse by the UNNECCESARY LONG Sex scene flashback you have to go through, what was the point of making that scene so long, so detailed, and no skipping????? Is super annoying because anytime I have like a good moment with Johnny is immediately ruined by the next bit where they are trying to make him look "badass straight rocker". But yeah, I still haven't done the bits where you give your body to Johnny for a bit but I'm dreading it. Also, I told this to farferello already but wanted to share it here also, I was investigating why the hell Takemura isn't a romance, and I found the devs did speak on it because even the QA team for the game kept wondering the same and this is what they said: " The romance was deemed unfeasible because Takemura was created quite late in development. This meant that we had to tell the story with Arasaka first and foremost and didn’t have much time or budget left during development to include complete scenes for a romance. It was only under these circumstances that we judged it to be unworkable, but from a creative point of view we found it very fitting. That’s why the hints, messages and so on are in the game.” I also still stand on Vik also should have been a romance, the number of times he's in most quests I do, like the fighting one, he was there for me during the boxing fight and even helped me win. I saw people on the reddits and such saying hes just too old, same for Takemura, and like do they even know HOW OLD KERRY IS, that's not an excuse! XD. Now I get some people see Vik as a father/uncle figure that's fine but that's entirely up to player interpretation. Just seems a waste a character that has so much presence and back story because he knows you since the Jackie days, and even goes to his ofrenda funeral, like he's been there in big moments of your life. But yeah, it has been a rollercoaster ride of feelings with this game, many great things, but also many missed opportunities. Also surprisingly enjoying the fashion in the game, granted probably a bunch got added since launch, but I enjoyed the variety on it except pants, literally most of the pants on this game feel ugly at least to me because they are usually super dirty or too extra, but I love photo mode: (EDIT, this post is so long I'm sorry, I blame Panam )

My thing with Panam is that I think there's interesting character work to do with her, but the game actively refuses it by way of always making her correct - every risk she takes pays off, which undermines the inherent character arc she SHOULD be getting of learning that she's not always right. There's even the fact that the whole thing with the Basilisk is pretty clearly some kind of Millitech plot - they JUST HAPPEN to have a convoy moving through, mentioned on comms that the Aldecaldos JUST HAPPEN to be monitoring, and then the discovery of those monitored comms JUST HAPPENS to be discovered right after they've taken the panzer? All indications are that Millitech WANTS the Aldecaldos to have the tank, probably with eyes of them doing exactly what they do in the Star ending, raiding Arasaka. But, because Panam Must Always Be Right™, none of this is discussed or put forward, and Panam's risk pays off for the clan, getting her made clan elder. And then there's her interactions with Rogue, which end up HAVING to just trail off and never get concluded, because there are only two ways that it COULD pan out - Panam admits that Rogue had her number and HAS to change her ways, a change that means she CANNOT be the character she is in the rest of her storyline, or she proves Rogue wrong, and, again, is not the character the rest of her storyline makes her out as.
THAT, at its core, is my problem with Panam, with Liara, with Lana - they are written to NEVER be wrong, to never face the consequences of being wrong. These are characters who are interesting and flawed, but the writing refuses to acknowledge it, and, as a result, flattens them out, primarily in the purpose of shilling them as a romance option.
Personally, I don't like the idea of Takemura as a romance, but that's mostly because I roll Street Kid, and so for me, I see him as being too distant for V to take that step - Takemura is a true believer in the corp, in Arasaka specifically. My V's are down to seeing Arasaka collapse entirely, which will inevitably have him at odds with Takemura.
I do see the appeal for Vik, and I wouldn't turn him down or anything, but I feel like there's a professional ethical line that might be crossed with a doctor and their patient, y'know? Like that may not be a thing in the Cyberpunk world, but it is a thing for me that I'm not all that comfortable with.
Aside from letting River be the bi romance he should have been, I'm not sure who I'd pick specifically as a potential M/M romance over Kerry. I might have to go into the realm of new characters entirely, or picking a character to give more attention in the story entirely, and not any of the characters who are specifically introduced properly.

So I didn't realize the game has cross progression saves so I can move my saves from ps5 to pc version, thats super handy so I decided to force my pc to run the game XD and try the river romance mod since I had a save perfectly before his flirts start. Thankfully my computer managed though it makes sounds like is gonna blow up if I play on it too long BUT managed to try the River Romance. Having played both the no homo and yes homo versions, River just makes a lot of sense to have been at least a bi option. The entire scene up is very much for a romance no matter what, and they even admit this by letting us try to kiss him and get rejected, like thanks for showing me the awkward fear we all gays have. Anyway, the romance itself is pretty cute, I think he's a nice character in giving V that family aspect, and more distance from the craziness of the city. Not sure if I fully see my V romancing him long term but I can at least imagine they did try something for a little bit, but my V would fear to ruin River's life and dreams of family and would part ways. Thats just my vision for now though because so far still not sure who I seen him with XD. Still maybe halfway through the story, going to do the parade mission with Takemura next but I done a ton of the side stuff but I'm gonna stop so I have stuff in between whenever Kerry shows up since I think some of you mentioned you have to wait for his next quests to trigger next steps when they do. I also learned about mods where you can replace anyone specific in scenes or moments, hell you can even romance V with a swap XD. But it was a bit more complicated to play around with swapping but is a good tool to really just play around with the game models and they manage to fully animate when doing so, the modding community really went all out on this game in giving the options the game lacked. Here's the mod links for references: For river male romance is really easy to mod, just dump the file on the correct folder and your good to go: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11586But for more full control swapping models, poses, and such then you have to get this one Appearance Menu Mod and follow the instructions there, is not hard just gotta make sure you don't skip a single step: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11713dgcatanisiri Yep I agree on the Panam bit, I just did yet another quest with her when once again she's pissed at Saul does whatever she wants, and nothing went wrong besides Saul being pissed. I'm sure something will happen later from what you are mentioning but the game will still say she was right and congratulate her. Is also annoying because the game briefly lets you question her and agree with Saul but is rapidly shrugged off when you try. Then she gave me that whole talk about impulses, like yeah you better keep it in your pants darling cuz it ain't happening XD. See and what you mention with Takemura is one of the issues with their romance system to me personally, locking the romances to this odd gender system means that your ideal romance for your origin or the character your making is out of the question. And not just looking after myself, but a female V for example that lines up perfectly with Panam's background just can't go with her if they wanted to. The game just doesn't feature enough romances to justify the current system. Not to mention the romances could incentivize more unique runs playing around with each background and story. Just one of those missed opportunity spots of the game. And yeah, that's totally fair on Vik!

Well, as it turns out, the new ending doesn't even apply for me, because playing through, that didn't feel like the right way to go for my V. He ended up siding with Song and helping her escape, even though it cost him the shot at the cure. So much for that, huh?

They also could have solved some of this by having more small content romances. Instead of just sex workers. Like make a bunch of bi side characters of the various factions that you can smooch and have some dialogue and let people RP.

I member when they said you could do quests and invite any npc back to your apartment for sex...I found that a little creepy in a way-but it's funny how anyone went down to 4 Sex Workers and 4 romance options. (oh and one really poorly executed fling with the corpo lady) "Have sex with me or I will haunt your journal for your whole play-through!"

(oh and one really poorly executed fling with the corpo lady) "Have sex with me or I will haunt your journal for your whole play-through!" Or, alternatively, haunt your phone's popup messages, because I do exactly like she asks in going 'okay, we don't know each other, we don't communicate further,' and yet the game has, all playthrough, haunted me with how I'm seemingly expected to respond to her request to not respond.
Also have a couple of Panam texts I just haven't responded to, but those at least seem marked read (presumably since they don't lead to quests at this point...).
I DID seriously consider ratting her out to Saul about the panzer, for the record, cutting off everything there entirely, but, frankly, that's not in character for how I roll V and there's better experience in doing her quests, but the temptation is always there.

I'm still so mad on my Corpo run where I forever had that lil quest stuck in my phone because the game gives you ZERO ways to turn her down. Oh you helped her? You must want to fuck her then. Bruh. My poor Corpo!V was traumatized, I've never reloaded so quickly in my life.
As for Panam, my Corpo was going to help her - but then I read the quest blurb (that is 'written' by Johnny) and it pretty much implied that my V was only helping her so he could get in her pants and I was just kinda hell no and went to tattle on her to Saul because that V hated Johnny and the game trying to make him feel guilty every step of the way for wanting to get rid of him and not be his bff just made me hate him even more.

Finished out my Phantom Liberty run.
I kinda get the feeling they didn’t really expect people to follow through with siding with Songbird, that by the end of the DLC, they very much expect that V would take the option to save their own life at her expense. Cuz the extent of the follow up on her is just a text and an item pickup - she doesn’t even send V a message in the ending.
It seems like the same issue with Johnny - “we cast a Name Actor for the character, of course you’re gonna want to work with them, so all the real content gets to happen in that path, and not doing so, well, okay, sure, it’s acknowledged, but that’s not where the REAL focus is on.”
I mean, the core of the story, yet again, is solid and engaging, it’s just obvious that the writing favors the idea of working with Solomon Reed, not Songbird, even in offering V the ability to work with her instead of him.

So I finally finished Cyberpunk! I haven't done the phantom liberty dlc yet, will leave it for another time to come back to the game, wanted to first run it full the original content from beginning to end. So time for my pros and cons and rants, including romancing Kerry: The Johnny Pros & Rants: So In order to romance Kerry I had to do chippin in, where you have to give control to Johnny, which you all know and we discussed a lot on it, and from a story standpoint I think is an interesting moment and narratively there's some great beats there, but the chapter suffers from the same bits that stops me from fully loving this game, and is trying to be edgy and cool in a desperate way. I think Johnny getting drunk and getting a tattoo with your name is pretty fun and funny with your body, that's fine. But going into this strip club is iffy, and it gets worse once you get in the car with the chick and THAT bit happens, now is short, saved by the car crash mind you, something that out of context sounds awful XD, but yeah. It's very out of place in every way possible because, not only is weird if your V is gay and is touching women using your body, but you can be in a relationship with Panam or others up to this point, so anyone could see you on town and say your cheating. Anyway, that awful bit aside, I did genuinely enjoy the end of the quest where you have a heart to heart with Johnny. And I think my problem with Johnny in this game is not the character itself in terms of how is written, but of HOW is presented. Because overall I actually liked Johnny's arc with you in the game, what I dislike is how the developers choose to present us moments of this character. I once again didn't have to watch a flashback of Johnny having sex in graphic detail, more graphic than the actual romance scenes in the game. Nor did Johnny need to use your body in a sexual way to get information. Fade to blacks exist please use them CDPR. The Kerry Romance: Now in terms of Kerry, I actually ended up liking the character, I think he's cool, but the way he comes into the story, and how late flirts start to happen, it felt incredibly short. He's about the same length as River which is short really. Judy and Panam have very extensive arcs, and even Takemura has a longer arc with you in the game. I think his introduction is confusing because Johnny is concerned that he is depressed and so forth, but we never get to like to explore that depression on Kerry I feel, at least as V. You have this coffee chat with Kerry but I don't' think we had enough time knowing each other for that moment to be so impactful. The rest of the quests is just trying to get the band together, with a choice of a band member that seemed like a big deal, but it amounted to nothing lol. Now the actual romance first kiss flirt is cute, is a nice spot, is a nice moment, I still felt it was too soon but oh well. The sex bang scene is okay, is different, over the place at times but it stands out. However, I wish there was an extra scene or moment after that, where you and Kerry have something more intimate, quieter, to seal more the romance. Because I mostly felt Kerry was this cool dude friend of mine and didn't get that part of where I was shipping the relationship. This is however fixed A LITTLE bit with the last update, where you can now invite your romance in the apartment, sit down and cuddle them, meditate, shower, etc. It's not a substantial amount per say but is still nice addition, especially the mirror scene where you can see your V getting kissed by your romance. Kerry was also on my ending choice at the end which also helped matters. Made a gif of my mirror kiss in the cheek The final Panam Rant: I giggled typing the above, but I have to! I got called by Panam once again to test out the new vehicle, and like sure. And somehow that ends up being the entire purpose of trying out extra sensitivity sex? It just seemed out of nowhere to me because I said to Panam at least twice that I'm not interested in a relationship and like to be friends. But yet again she insists and is using also extra technology to get me horny on top of it! But you know what, I'm a man of science, and said screw it I want to see how this plays out. And UNSURPRISINGLY, Panam's sex scene is actually the only 3rd person sex scene where you get to see your V and her all the time on it. No first-person shenanigans, pure cutscene. So needless to say I was annoyed that she got perhaps the steamiest and best scene scenario in the game, which I shouldn't be surprised but is no less frustrating lol. The ending: So this is the part that I was very nervous about, has we all discussed in length about them here but is not the same me discussing based on what I read or watch clips of, versus getting to it myself and experience the whole thing. I ended up choosing the Sun ending. Now for starters, Takemura died on my run, I had no idea I had to rescue him in that one mission because the game gave 0 indication that was possible, and I didn't see a way to go back up myself. So, without Takemura I had 0 trust in following Hanako. Next choice is Panam Nomads, which well... for my Corpo V at least there's just no history there or strong bond for me to go that route. So that leaves me with listening to Johnny and grab Rogue or do the secret version. I failed to unlock the secret ending but after reading about it I prefer the original version. I think original the sun ending made sense to me that Rogue makes a sacrifice, and now Johnny only has Alt, so is fitting Johnny is willing to let go with Alt rather than want your body. Now I didn't really care for the mumbo jumbo of Mitoshi, it felt like a deus ex machina just to make things sound complicated. I see people discuss whether is V or not after Mitoshi, Im like I rather not overthink that and just think is V. So, after Rogue's sacrifice you follow/honor her death taking over Afterlife. Then what follows is taking on the possibly "impossible" mission to help mr blue eyes who will give you a cure if you succeed. Now the reason I ended up liking this ending more than I thought I would (besides being mentally prepared to them beforehand thanks to this forum XD) is because is open ending whether your V succeeds the mission or not and gets cured, and I personally prefer this over the game telling me straight up in my face that V dies anyway nothing mattered. Sure they make an emphasis he will likely die, but that's a dilemma for most protagonists in a game or movie, doing the impossible so I don't think is out of the question you live. Overall: So yeah overall, I still had a good time with the game, much more than I originally thought. I think the game has great characters, a great world, and a very solid protagonist to play as throughout it all, and all the quests for the most part were interesting, even the peculiar humor ones, like mr grenade nose clown. I think the thing that holds back this game for me to say is one of my very favorites is the lack of Role play agency. The only major choices in the end are the ending and the romance. Apart from that most of the game is very straightforward no matter what you choose. Their focus is very much pushing the narrative they want to tell, that while is a strong interesting narrative, it doesn't feel at times I'm playing an RPG, and more so playing one of those action games with rpg elements. Oh yeah and the combat gameplay was fun but never really spent time playing with any skills or upgrades much, I just stealthed most of the game or got a good gun doing headshots on the easy mode, there was no need for me to upgrade anything. So if anyone is worried about game being hard, easiest mode is still just fine. And vehicle controls suck and is the only times I died in the game XD. To get myself more into the whole johnny thing, I changed a bit the look and vibe of my V, to show more visually when Johnny is the one in charge, was pretty fun. I ended up sticking with the look by the end of it to visualize he adapted some of the cool stuff of Johnny, just not the bad person parts: My V after doing the impossible heist and living cured because I said so:

So if you follow my Twitter you probably know I started my first full run of Cyberpunk 2077 ver 2. I am still occasionally shaking my hand at the sky for some minor (or nearing major) little thing I find that was changed for no reason that can be understood by my human mind. Overall, however I'm having a good time. It's because in a lot of ways the game is still CP 2077, but still I keep finding the game to be getting just a little harder as I level up. I am worried I'll hit a wall at some point. Though currently I do have a plan to start using smart weapons if my netrunning runs amiss. Also I have a mono-wire for whatever that might be worth.

So about the new "date night" content. It was awkward. I don't know if it was cause I didn't talk to river about "V's doubts" about the relationship yet, but during the date V used that dialogue while rubbing River's inner thigh. I have never come so close from actually dying from awkwardness. Some of it would probably be cute in third person, but the whole first-person thing just makes it feel kind of ick to me for whatever reason. -shrug- On the bright side it does at least let River visit different places instead of just sad sacking in front of Joss's trailer for the rest of his life.

Yeah the date night is a bit glitchy as a whole. I didn't care for the dialogue for Kerry either, it was just nice hanging out with your romance and I guess write your own dialogue that happens there cuz otherwise meh. I wish we could photo mode the moments though in 3rd person, but every time you sit/pose the game just refuses, I'm sure I can on PC with mods but still. Also best to do the first apartment you get for the scene, cuz the glenn apartment was super broken for me the date, I would try to trigger the mirror scene, and I got instead the game glitched and spawn ALL the romances in the apartment, and the game suddenly put Judy on my knees laying down, I was like NOOOO . It was me, kerry and her on the sofa, suddenly the most Poly relationship while Panam and River where glitched into each other in another area. So yeah it was very frustrating at first the experience XD.

Scottphoto I did the glen date and the default apartment. I didn't have any glitches, just the odd dialogue, and sadly it happens everytime. Luckily the thigh part is optional...so I don't pick it. I never could get the mirror thing to trigger. I got a kiss at a window (both places)-river to show up in the shower-couch cuddles-and of course if v goes to sleep river joins him. Edit: oh yeah and there's a dance option too...which is really cringe. instead of slow dancing it's like...awkward party dancing circa the 90's. lol
