Hood instead of side-braid = fail (unless I'm just not seeing it)! Hah there's a gamestop version one of her holding her eagle, I dont think shes wearing a hood on that one. Kass' expression after the dagger hits is perfect I know right? It's so perfect. It's a "what is this shenanigans" look. And I'm not playing favorites here, but I feel like comparing her face to Alexios' in the same scene, she just comes across as having more of a reaction to it, expression wise lol.

I totally agree, especially about how it's not a genetic thing, but situational. Do you all remember a couple AC games ago, when some idiot dev claimed they didn't have female characters because "female animations are difficult"? Glad to see that kind of stupidity and penchant for excuses to exclude people doesn't stand the test of time. I wonder how much McCoubrey or other women working at Ubisoft contributed to the decision to have gender-selection this time around.
That's the lamest excuse I've ever read and I thought "female characters are risky" was lame I didn't know any of this but I'm glad this franchise has been slowly progressing at least! They added a female PC in the same game where the male was bisexual (well, devs told he was bisexual in a interview, not in-game ¬¬) right? Totally agree in the asexual part, being asexual doesn't mean you can not fall in love with somebody and having a romantic relationship with them. I take this is pure ignorance I guess.

Oh but dear Davrin's boobs didnt you know? In-game they showed him kissing a guy and then go out of their way to marry him off with a woman through DLC and give him a kid. Because ofc they did… Thankfully they learned their lesson with Odyssey, from what we can tell from the info we've been given up until now.

I know he kissed a villain, well the bad guy stole a kiss from him and he was like not interested at all. I didnt know he got married to a woman, I mean he's bi why not, but this "bi dude for women only" trope is just tiring I see this not only games, but tv shows too, like... needs to end already????

I hate how this is becoming some kinda of trend. It feels like they’re just saying it for rep points like the whole jk Rowling Harry Potter issue again.

Sorry for the fans but when the show got cancelled I toasted. (Shadowhunters being cancelled did hurt me a lot though t.t)

Oh, I forgot to say: That article mentioned that the Ubisoft branch in Quebec is making Odyssey, therefore, as a Canadian, I take indirect credit for its accomplishments
In all seriousness, though, it is possible that creating this game in a country that cares less about gender and sexuality than The States (not that we're anywhere near perfect) did help make these improvements happen. Bioware, the ones who started this path, are also Canadian.

(Shadowhunters being cancelled did hurt me a lot though t.t) I’ve yet to watch Killing Eve but some of the descriptions regarding the bi guy just left a meh taste in my mouth. Like “was mostly with guys in the past” I.e. just telling us about it and doesn’t even seem to matter, and “decided to enter a hetero marriage to have kids.” Not like you know surrogacy or adoption is a thing or anything. If anyone who has actually watched it and I’ve got the wrong impression of it let me know.

If anyone who has actually watched it and I’ve got the wrong impression of it let me know. Funny how in real life that heterosexual women are pretty... judgemental generally when it comes to entering relationships with bisexual men, as if their supposed past history with men makes them less of a man... a sweeping brushstroke, but from what I've heard from bi men (even though as society progresses, things are actually getting better- hopefully), I just find it funny that narratives in games continually emphasise bisexual men's preference for women, when in reality, it varies from individual to individual: an unfortunate by-product of heteronormativity. Bi men have it hard in a different way.
(preface this by saying that all bisexual people experience prejudice from people both gay and straight- with instances of bisexual women having issues with lesbians with varying levels of biphobia, for example...)

Yea, biphobia is a thing that needs to die tbh. More so from our own community, which is fucking stupid bc we are all marginalised. A lot of it comes of the stupid “they will cheat on me for the opposite sex” thing which is both a result of heteronativity (on both sides) and also like if that person is a cheater it isn’t going to matter what sex they prefer

In-game they showed him kissing a guy and then go out of their way to marry him off with a woman through DLC and give him a kid. Because ofc they did… This I did not know...my excitement for the game just died down about...50%... Making him "bisexual" yet only giving one small moment with a man ONCE and then never again is not representation at all...ugh... I guess Jill Frappier will be the saving grace of the game for me.
I am so very glad Odyssey is taking the right approach with this by allowing Alexios to be very, very gay. I know he kissed a villain, well the bad guy stole a kiss from him and he was like not interested at all. I didnt know he got married to a woman, I mean he's bi why not, but this "bi dude for women only" trope is just tiring I see this not only games, but tv shows too, like... needs to end already???? Too true.
After this very gay E3 though, I'd like to think things will improve in video games at least. I mean the only recent good example of a true bisexual man is the handsome warlock from my avatar pic :amirite What is the show exactly? I've been curious.

...Of course the Kassandra figurine is sold out as soon as I go to order her with Alexios to take advantage of the discount and free shipping! I don't know if I should just go ahead and order the Alexios figurine and save 20% or wait and see if Kassandra will be back in stock anytime soon...don't want to risk missing out on Alexios as well...

What is the show exactly? I've been curious. Shadowhunters, is based on these books and it has a forgettable movie (although Godfrey Gao is so yummy as Magnus Bane ). There's representation but Magnus the bisexual warlock and Alec the gay shadowhunter are the LGBTQ spotlight of the show. the show has been cancelled recently but they are gonna finish it with a two hours special so that's good I guess. Sad ... because I need Malec in my life. Sorry for the off topic gimmie my minotaur romance Ubisoft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
